You will be based at Kings Weald Community Centre, where you will lead the transformation of the site into a thriving community hub. From growing our commercial catering and room hire offer to developing new membership models and service lines, you will be at the heart of our mission to help people act now, to age better.  You will take a lead role in growing and evolving our new customer membership platform by shaping offers, securing partnerships, and building a local business directory that brings real value to our community. 

You will lead talented teams spanning Catering, Marketing & Comms, and our Gym and Centre staff – embedding a culture of collaboration, innovation and customer focus.

What You Will Do

• Lead and grow commercial income streams across our hubs – from catering to room hire as well as  launching services at our new hubs including Power of Attorney work
• Act as Centre Manager for Kings Weald, building it into a vibrant and inclusive community space
• Oversee the development and promotion of our membership scheme, working closely with Marketing and Customer Services teams
• Identify and secure new commercial opportunities and partnerships particularly for our customer membership platform and business directory
• Collaborate with internal teams across Customer Services, Compliance and Fundraising to ensure joined-up delivery and maximum impact
• Use data and insight to shape pricing, offers and service design
• Manage budgets, contracts and supplier relationships with confidence and care

What You Will Bring

• A proven track record in business development and income generation, ideally within the charity or social enterprise sector
• Experience leading commercial teams, with knowledge of catering, marketing or membership offers
• A customer-first mindset, with strong communication and people management skills
• Confidence using data, systems and insights to drive improvements and results
• Strategic thinking combined with hands-on delivery – you roll up your sleeves and get things done
• Comfortable working with digital systems and data insights to inform decision-making and measure impact

Embedded in the work of the Programme Department, the Communications and Marketing Manager is responsible for designing and delivering on communications and marketing plans designed to amplify our brand messages, and raise awareness of our mission with partners, and beneficiaries and help us achieve our vision.

About the role

We have a new and exciting opportunity to work with us as an Evidence Officer, working as part of the Strategy, Impact and Evidence team. 

Sustrans’ Strategy, Impact and Evidence team is a leading centre of excellence in active travel research, monitoring and evaluation and we are recruiting now. As an Evidence Officer, you will work on a range of behaviour change and infrastructure projects, providing monitoring, evaluation, and analytical support. The Strategy, Impact and Evidence teamplays an important part in supporting our vision by providing robust evidence on sustainable and active travel that ultimately influences and shapes policy, practice and behaviour across the UK.

Focusing on monitoring and evaluating the impact of infrastructure and behaviour change programmes, you will work on a range of projects around the UK and be involved in the planning, delivery, analysis and reporting of our monitoring and evaluation work. 

We offer true hybrid working, a flexible mix of working from home and occasional travel to a nearby office hub. There is minimal travel required in this role, however in the course of your work you may have to travel to one of the nominated hubs or project sites if required to do so. 

About you

You should have demonstrable quantitative and/or qualitative analytical skills, and be a competent Excel user or have working knowledge of statistical software, such as R.

As an excellent communicator in both oral and written forms, you will have with the ability to present data and findings clearly. You should also have the capability to find innovative and creative solutions to problems.

You will own some experience of project management as well as delivery of project monitoring and evaluation. You should also have some experience of working and communicating with suppliers, partners and/or clients.

What skills and experiences we’re looking for: 

• Strong policy expertise: demonstrable experience of analysing evidence from a range of sources (lived experience, think tank and academic reports,) and working collaboratively with communities to identify the root causes of inequality and create policy solutions. Ideally in one or more of the areas of climate justice, economic opportunity, and social inclusion. 

• Community Engagement: Experience of working with grassroots organisations and local communities, with a focus on building capacity and amplifying their voices at local borough, London and UK government levels. 

• Advocacy Skills:

• Strong understanding and demonstrable experience of public policy change processes at the intersection of UK and London government agendas

• Proven ability to develop, lead, implement and monitor influencing strategies that drive systemic change 

• Strategic Thinking: Ability to think creatively and strategically about developing engagement models and responding to emerging trends in social and environmental justice movements.

This is role is offered on the initial basis of a 3 year contract, with any extension of that subject to funding.

As a Policy Officer at TransActual you will:

• Engage with elected representatives and civil servants.
• Support with the research for, writing and distribution of TransActual’s Parliamentary briefings.
• Research and write responses to consultations, reviews and calls for evidence.
• Keep our policy database up to date.
• Support the Policy Lead in creating and coordinating a Trans Policy Network.
• Support the delivery of a programme of work to support activists to develop their develop skills and expertise in policy work.
• Work collaboratively with others in the LGBTQ+ sector and beyond on policy matters.
• Work with TransActual’s programmes officer to create information and training resources for trans people on rights and protections.
• Coordinate TransActual’s policy volunteers to ensure they’ve got what they need to be able to support our work.

An in depth understanding of trans people’s lived experiences and an ongoing commitment to bringing about positive change for all trans people in the UK is absolutely essential for this role. This understanding can come from your own lived experience. You will demonstrate a strong understanding of and commitment to equity, particularly in relation to race equity and disability equity.

The successful applicant will be required to attend regular meetings in Central London, but must be able to work from home as well.

Terms and salary: 30 hours a week, a total salary of £21,840 per year (the full time equivalent salary would be £27,300).

To coordinate Imkaan’s engagement with parliamentary spaces, campaigns, and influencing work. The postholder will support the organisation’s advocacy strategies, develop political communications, and strengthen relationships with policymakers, stakeholders, and the media to further the rights and recognition of Black and Minoritised women and girls affected by violence.  
The Parliamentary and Campaigns Coordinator will lead Imkaan’s parliamentary engagement and campaigning activity, ensuring the voices and experiences of Black and Minoritised women and girls are heard at the highest levels of decision-making. 

You will build relationships with MPs, peers, parliamentary committees, and government departments, track legislation and policy developments, and coordinate public campaigns to influence change. You will also work closely with Imkaan’s members to support grassroots mobilisation and bring frontline voices into national conversations. 

This is a strategic and creative role for someone with strong political instincts, excellent communication skills, and a deep commitment to justice for Black and Minoritised women and girls. 

 Key Responsibilities  

1) Campaign Strategy and Development 

• Support the design and delivery of evidence-based campaigns aligned with Imkaan’s strategic priorities. 

• Work with internal teams to craft campaign messages informed by research and sector data. 

• Develop and deliver campaigns that highlight the lived experiences and rights of Black and Minoritised women and girls 

• Work with the Communications Coordinator to create campaign messaging and digital content aligned with Imkaan’s values. Support the mobilisation of members and allies around key policy moments (e.g. consultations, votes, legislation) 

• Monitor impact of campaigns and contribute to cross-organisational reflection and learning. 

• Contribute to cross-organisational policy influencing strategy and calendar 

• Track political developments, maintain contact records and parliamentary timelines 

• Ensure alignment between parliamentary work and Imkaan’s wider research, policy, and membership activity. 

• Support the Policy and Research Manager and Executive Director with high-level influencing opportunities and responses. 

2) Policy and Parliamentary Engagement 

• Monitor UK parliamentary activity, including debates, inquiries, and relevant policy developments. 

• Prepare briefings, reports, and policy responses for government and parliamentary audiences. 

• Coordinate engagement with central/local government and VAWG coalitions. 

• Build and maintain relationships with MPs, peers, parliamentary researchers, and civil servants 

• Track and respond to relevant legislation, debates, select committee work, and inquiries. 

• Coordinate Imkaan’s parliamentary engagement strategy, including briefings, evidence submissions, and event planning 

• Prepare Imkaan representatives and members for parliamentary meetings and public speaking engagements 

• Support high-impact events, including parliamentary roundtables, receptions, and cross-sector briefings. 

• Draft political content, including statements, open letters, and responses to emerging issues. 

• Support the leadership team and Board with communications materials, media briefings, and stakeholder messaging. 

• Identify and amplify stories and case studies for campaigns and public awareness. 

3) Membership and Sector Outreach 

• Disseminate Imkaan’s work and campaigns across the membership and wider VAWG sector. 

• Represent member interests within campaigns and coordinate cross-sector advocacy. 

• Support members to engage in political and public campaigning, including training, resources, and shared actions 

• Ensure campaigns reflect the priorities of frontline organisations and are shaped through regular consultation 

• Work collaboratively with partners and allies across the women’s, anti-racist, and human rights sectors.

• Evaluate campaign activities against strategic objectives and funder requirements. 

• Contribute to planning documents, project reports, and performance tracking systems.

Essential Experience

About KLS’ Future Foundations education team 

Future Foundations is an education programme of Katherine Low Settlement. Since 2004, KLS’ Future Foundations education team of 10 part-time staff and over 100 volunteers, have supported young refugees and their families in Battersea and the London Borough of Wandsworth to thrive in their education. Through mentoring, family support, casework and homework clubs, we provide the tailored support each young person and their family (if they have one) needs to overcome the barriers to education they face at home and school. 

Key Objectives for this Role

Working with the Lead Youth Worker you will: 

Homework Clubs

•Collect up to date consent information for all young people joining Future Foundations

•Support with creating session plans for club nights

•Research and source necessary resources activities 

•Support to plan and run engaging and fun activities/ongoing projects for the young people

•Use participatory methods to involve young people about Clubs 

•Ensure children’s participation and encourage ownership of and responsibility for the Clubs

•Implement our behaviour management policy

•Liaise with families/carers to communicate information regarding Clubs and Mentoring

•Support with maintaining robust recording and monitoring systems (including registers) and ensure quotes, case studies and feedback are saved and stored

The Senior Philanthropy and Partnership Manager is a new role, bringing the staff team to eight.
