SignHealth is a passionate and unique deaf-led charity, committed to creating a future where there are no barriers to good health and wellbeing for deaf people.
Our work is varied and aims to promote easier access to healthcare and information. We partner with the NHS and other services and take on projects, carry out research, and raise awareness. We also deliver our own services to reach deaf people in our shared language (BSL) in their moment of need, through domestic abuse support, therapy, advocacy and residential services.
As Business Development Manager, you will drive SignHealth’s growth by securing funding and building partnerships with government bodies, statutory funders, and key partners. Your work will help expand deaf-led services in mental health, domestic abuse, social care, and children and young people’s support.
You will identify new funding opportunities, craft compelling bids and tenders, and support service sustainability through strategic development. Working closely with internal teams and external stakeholders, you will play an essential role in helping SignHealth thrive and deliver vital support for deaf people.
Your key priorities will include:
- Increasing bid capacity within the Business Development team to obtain more funding.
- Supporting the growth of SignHealth’s commercial consultancy services.
- Assisting in the business development of our social care services.
You will be involved in income generation, identifying and pursuing funding opportunities from statutory bodies, government contracts, and commercial sources and assisting in monitoring the performance of secured contracts and funding agreements. You will represent SignHealth at events, foster strategic partnerships, and strengthen relationships with funders and stakeholders.

The responsibilities of the Client Finance Manager will include:
· Delivering budgets and forecasts for each client, property and tenancy, using complex data from the MRI Horizon general ledger and other systems, Hyperion and Excel tools to provide accurate and meaningful financial information
· Being accountable for financial control over property services accounting, ensuring high levels of client satisfaction by providing accurate forecasting, explanations and billing
· Maintaining a focus on process improvement, including planning and establishing new systems and processes for quarterly financial reporting to ensure clients understand their costs and bills, delivering an ongoing service that meets and exceeds expectations

Key Skills & Experience
· Be proficient in Microsoft Excel skills and able to manipulate complex data sets.
· Strong attention to detail and ability to analyse and interpret significant amounts of financial data
· Ideally, have experience in client finance, including reporting to clients, managing systems and processes, working in partnership with clients to deliver results

Management: You will be one of the first points of contact internally for trusts/foundations and individual major donors (IMD) related queries and will work in accordance with the major giving team strategic plan and existing procedures, practices and standards.
Relationship:You will seek to actively develop and manage excellent relationships with an agreed portfolio of trusts/foundations and IMD capable of donating a minimum of £25,000 or more as a single gift each year. In addition you will need to:
- Develop and implement professionally written action plans which will engage, inform and nurture prospects and donors to deliver gifts at the agreed level.
- Undertake timely administration to capture and record knowledge of supporters within the customer relationship management database. Work with the organisation’s systems team to utilise this information to enhance applications and giving levels
- Pro-actively develop relationships with key stakeholders within the MAF organisation(s)

Information: Information management and analytical thinking is essential as you will present detailed, accurate and high-quality fundraising proposals to prospects and donors, ensuring any specific deadlines or funding windows are complied with. In addition you will need to:
- Ensure that donors are thanked appropriately for their gifts with timely and appropriate reports, letters and phone call.

The Scientific Writing and Publishing Lead will play a key role in supporting researchers in the Global South to communicate their findings effectively and contribute to the global SRM conversation. Working within the Programmes team, reporting to the Programmes Director, and in cooperation with the Communications team, the Scientific Writer will collaborate closely with research teams and external partners. Responsibilities will include:
1. Support researchers with scientific writing and publishing
- Develop guidance materials on topics such as structuring research papers, writing abstracts, and best practices for peer-reviewed publication.

Role Purpose

Job purpose
The Clinical Lead will play a pivotal role in leading and developing Action for ME’s Healthcare Services with the Operations Director, ensuring the highest standards of clinical care for individuals affected by Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (ME). The postholder will be responsible for clinical oversight, service development, and leadership, working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to enhance outcomes for children and adults with ME and will be the CQC Registered Manager for the service.
At present, the Healthcare Services is a small team with two doctors (GPs) and two physios. Our counsellors are overseen by a Counselling Lead Supervisor and our multi-faith Chaplains are supported by our Lead Chaplain.
We are keen to develop and expand our services, building on the small amount of spot purchasing from local commissioning boards and exploring a diagnosing and prescribing offer. We are also keen to explore the potential of increasing the range of disciplines offered within the team.
