About the role

This is a new role which will help to deliver a pilot strategy to grow long-term sustainable income by enhancing Breast Cancer Now’s on-the-ground presence locally.

Joining the relationship fundraising team and working closely with the high value partnerships team, this role is responsible for cultivating new long-term relationships and, in turn, driving fundraising income.

Uniquely, the post holder will help to implement a large-scale trial to further grow Tickled Pink, an award-winning partnership between Asda, Breast Cancer Now and CoppaFeel! which has raised over £100m. The goal is to grow both engagement and future income by directly supporting colleagues across Asda stores in their local area.

In addition, this role will establish and grow a portfolio of supporters in the northwest by cultivating relationships with new and warm supporters including individuals, clubs, societies and local companies. It will also line manage two community fundraisers based in Scotland. 

What’s special about this role is that you’ll be working alongside a supportive, innovative and fun team which has delivered continued growth in fundraising over the last five years.

The is the first time the charity has had a community fundraiser locally based in the northwest. It is one of five new roles being introduced as part of the pilot, and the goal is that they all become permanent. 

About you 

You’re a pro at cultivating long term relationships with a variety of new supporters to generate income, and have great community fundraising experience working with individuals, local companies and clubs and societies.

You’re proactive and can work in a flexible and agile way; perhaps you’ve helped to deliver successful pilots in the past. You’re solution focused and experienced in developing and delivering ideas to grow income and engagement in the short and long term.

With great communication skills, you’re a team player and love working independently as well as part of a large team with various stakeholders.

Primary location of role and hybrid working

This is a remote role, and the candidate will need to be based in Manchester, Liverpool or the surrounding area. Regular travel will be required to meet supporters and visit Asda stores in your region, as well as to our offices in London, Sheffield and Glasgow.

The charity is seeking a dedicated Philanthropy Officer to join its ambitious Fundraising Team and play a key role in sustaining and growing income from trusts and foundations. This role will lead on writing compelling funding proposals and reports, ensuring that deadlines are met and donor stewardship remains exemplary. Working closely with the CEO, Philanthropy Manager and colleagues across policy, science, communications, and finance, the postholder will ensure funders receive timely and impactful updates on the charity's work.

The ideal candidate will bring excellent writing skills, strong research abilities, and confidence in managing donor relationships. With a flair for turning complex scientific issues into clear and persuasive communications, they will be highly organised, proactive, and motivated by the opportunity to protect people and nature from harmful chemicals. Experience in trust and foundation fundraising, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to thrive in a busy, small team are essential.

Position: Programme Officer

Reporting to: Senior Programme Manager

Location: Sidcup, Greater London, and hybrid working of 1 day in the office and 4 days remote (subject to change)

Contract Type: Permanent and full-time

Starting Salary: £28,000 – £32,000 gross per annum (based on experience) plus benefits

Purpose

The Programme Officer will be responsible for supporting the effective implementation of project delivery activities across our portfolio, predominantly in Africa, Europe, Central Asia, and the Middle East. 

The post holder will support project delivery, ensuring quality expectations (internal and client), delivering within the scope and budgeted resources of projects, and in line with project timelines. The post holder will work closely with other members of the project delivery team, our technical team, delivery partners, and consultants to ensure projects maximise their positive impact.

The Programme Officer will also support the Senior Programme Manager to disseminate good management practice across the organisation, and advise on delivery approaches.

Main Responsibilities

The responsibilities of the Programme Officer include the following:

Project Support

• Provide support to Programme Managers in the delivery of projects, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget and scope and comply with client contracts
• Take on the project management of assigned select projects within a determined budget/complexity threshold, ensuring that they are delivered to time and quality
• Set-up and monitor project workplans, including change requests ensuring that approvals are formally recorded and filed
• Manage day-to-day relationships with delivery partners and internal team(s) and build a solid understanding of delivery needs and timelines across projects
• Monitor and support timely client and consultant billing and invoices attached to delivery
• Support onboarding of consultants for new projects, including due diligence checks and contract preparation based on set templates
• Ensure project management software and tools are accurate and kept up to date for allocated projects
• Provide timely responses to client queries and alert the Head of UK/Kenya Programme Management of any potential risks
• Lead duty of care and travel planning for staff and consultants, working alongside administrative officers
• Liaise closely with technical colleagues, Head of team, and Programme Managers / Officers on project support needs.

 Project Financial Management

• Monitor project budget performance, capturing variances and liaising with the Finance Team and Head of UK/Kenya Programme Management
• Monitor and support the processing of consultants’ expenses/fees against contracts and client invoices against contracts
• Make recommendations to ensure financial outcomes are met with respect to time, quality and cost, and provide early warning of project overspend
• Prepare internal project update reporting including finances and resourcing using required management tools. 

Organisational Support and Business Development

• Provide support in strengthening policies, procedures, and management tools for Development Pathways
• Coordinate with wider project teams to ensure technical capacity is well planned across Development Pathways’ portfolio of projects 
• Signpost colleagues to relevant project management tools and processes, when required
• Support project closure processes as required, capturing and sharing lessons internally
• Provide ad hoc input to evolving organisational requirements as directed by senior members
• Assist with the identification and monitoring of business opportunities in donor markets, as requested
• Update SharePoint and ensure project data sheets are developed and up to date to facilitate bids for tenders
• Collate and share project information to support the Business Development and Communications department.

Skills, Knowledge and Behaviours

The Programme Officer will require the following combination of applied skills, knowledge, and behaviours to successfully contribute to team goals:

Required:

• An undergraduate degree in an appropriate subject 
• Up to 2 years’ experience working on project support or delivery within international development,  research and/or the consultancy sector
• Ability and confidence to work independently and manage their own workflows
• Good communication skills and an ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with a broad range of stakeholders at the individual level and in representation of the organisation
• Excellent drafting skills.
•  Ability to understand and effectively analyse and utilise financial information
• Proven ability to resolve problems, anticipate barriers and create practical solutions
• High IT proficiency (Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), SharePoint, etc.)
• Demonstrated attention to detail ensuring quality standards are maintained
• Ability to travel internationally when required.

Advantageous:

• 1-2 years direct project management experience
• Proficiency in additional languages, especially Arabic or French.

The Role 
Working within our International Partnerships, Programmes and Research (IPPR) team, you will develop, accompany, and coordinate locally-led peacebuilding projects, partnerships and networks, primarily in conflict-affected countries in the Great Lakes and Central Africa regions of Africa. You will also support the coordination of partnerships and engagement with local peacebuilding efforts in Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) within our multi-year programme ‘Local First: Transforming the Peacebuilding System’, funded by the Dutch MfA.

As Senior Partnerships and Programmes Officer you will work closely with our SPOs who manage existing partnerships and create opportunities to bring partners together to learn from one another. You will also support the development, coordination and delivery of Local First, working closely with the International Programmes Manager and Peace Direct’s Netherlands Country Representative.

We are looking for someone with experience supporting peacebuilding, development or humanitarian projects, with a good understanding of peacebuilding approaches, and who can build effective, trust-based relationships with local partners. You must be a team player who enjoys working collaboratively, have excellent organisational skills and be able to work in both English and French.

Job description and person specification

This is an exciting and varied role that encompasses all aspects of our fundraising activity and will support the development of relationships with our individual donors, Trusts and Foundations, Corporate Partners, and Community/Faith Groups. Our ideal candidate will have experience of working in a charity or other related organisation, in a fundraising and / or marketing team, and will bring relevant, transferable experience to apply to this role. Key Responsibilities

• Support the development of our individual giving programme including the planning and delivery of fundraising appeals and campaigns.
• Ensure donations are promptly acknowledged and recorded on our fundraising database, Donorfy.
• Lead the development of our use of Donorfy to record and report on our fundraising data, and manage donor relationships.
• Support the planning and delivery of key fundraising events including our annual Gala fundraising event.
• Conduct periodic and ad hoc prospect research on previous and prospective funders and identify new funding opportunities under the supervision of the Trusts and Foundations Grants lead.
• Support the Trusts and Foundations Grants lead to maintain a calendar of deadlines and reporting requirements
• Coordinate periodic mail outs to Trusts and Foundations in the small/general category.
• Support the cultivation and stewardship of corporate supporters under the direction of the Head of Fundraising.
• Assist with developing corporate partnership proposals, and other communications including periodic newsletters and social
• Help coordinate volunteer opportunities for our corporate partners

We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented individual to fill the role of Data Quality Officer within our organisation. This position is pivotal in ensuring the accurate and timely generation of reports that provide insights into our therapy services' performance and impact. We seek a highly capable Membership and Office Administrator to support the work of the Society’s professional Office based at University College London.

We are seeking a Programme Officer to help develop and deliver our programme of activities. Job description

We are seeking to appoint a team player with a background in education or programme delivery,  who is well-organised and an efficient administrator, with excellent inter-personal skills. They must be intellectually curious with strong research abilities, and are confident and articulate communicators. Alignment with our ethos of seeking to address social division through constructive dialogue is essential.

This role will be responsible for managing the delivery of our cohort programmes including currently: Youth & Democracy, Rule of Law, and Gen Z and the City. There is scope for the development of new programme areas, including working with the arts and our public history project, as we respond to contemporary challenges.

Reporting to: Programme Manager

Working closely with: Programme Director, Programme Officer, Communications & Engagement team, Chief Executive, Front of House team

Job Description:

· Work with the Programme team, to design and deliver educational resources, workshops and conferences including our Youth & Democracy, Rule of Law, and intergenerational change programme areas;

· Deliver Exploring Ethics and other Cumberland Lodge workshops as requested;

· Identify potential partners and collaborate with stakeholders related to programme activity;

· Produce funding proposals;

· Produce and/or editing briefing papers and reports when required;

· Produce digital content for online learning and engage regularly with the community engagement platform, including identifying topics, producing webinars and podcasts;

· Act as Duty Officer for 8 weekends (involving, if required, giving welcome talks, leading Exploring Ethics Sessions, and escorting groups to the Royal Chapel). Accommodation is provided on these weekends.

· Attend departmental, staff, and ad hoc planning meetings

· Work with the Communications team to produce website and social media content relating to the Programme.

· Carry out history tours and welcome talks for external guests.

· Carry out other tasks as may be reasonably required to facilitate Cumberland Lodge’s work.

· Act at all times as an ambassador for Cumberland Lodge.

Person specification

You’ll have:

Essential Criteria:

· Undergraduate degree in a relevant social science or humanities discipline;

· Experience working with young people and youth organisations;

· Experience of facilitating group discussion in a learning environment;

· Experience of project and event organisation and management, from inception to evaluation;

· Experience identifying and applying for funding;

· Excellent communications skills, verbal and written, for a range of audiences;

· Ability to build and maintain networks across a range of sectors;

· Ethos of collaboration and team work;

· Experience using a range of IT packages and platforms.

The successful candidate will have a graduate qualification as a minimum requirement, in a relevant social science or humanities discipline, as the role will involve developing programmes with academic content. Working with young people, and experience designing and delivering teaching and/or training material, in formal and/or non-formal education settings, is also an essential criteria.

· Postgraduate degree in a relevant social science or humanities discipline;

The role requires flexible working.  There will be some weekend and evening duties, including programme events, facilitating workshops for visiting groups, talks and tours of the Lodge (shared on a rota basis). Accommodation will be provided on site when evening work is required.

The current CEO, Denise Stygal-Watson, has done a fantastic job since joining the charity over four years ago and will be handing over an organisation at an exciting time in its development. JOB PURPOSE

The Director is involved in every aspect of the running of INSPIRE, which includes raising funding from a variety of sources, formulating a winning strategy to grow INSPIRE, husbanding resources in the most effective and efficient manner and leading a small staff in their support roles.

SCOPE OF THE JOB

As Director, you will have a large amount of freedom to drive change, grow the charity, set the strategic vision going forwards and use your talents and leadership to ensure INSPIRE thrives. The role

This is a key role in ensuring the smooth operational delivery of a wide range of training programmes and workshops, both online and in person, for early career researchers across the UK and internationally.

We are looking for an effective communicator and team player, confident in liaising with internal and external stakeholders, including training providers, course participants, network members, and partner organisations. You will take responsibility for coordinating event logistics, maintaining participant records, preparing communications, and ensuring that training materials are kept up to date and accessible.

A core duty of the role will be supporting the delivery of engaging and inclusive training opportunities, helping to identify and address the diverse needs of participants. This will involve working collaboratively to improve processes, providing feedback on participant experiences, and contributing to the development of new training initiatives. The CERN & Society Foundation, established in June 2014, is the charity through which charitable gifts for CERN & Society projects are raised from companies, trusts/foundations and individuals.

As an Individual and Digital Fundraising Officer, under the supervision of the Head of the Partnerships and Fundraising section, you will be responsible for developing and executing strategies to grow individual donor revenue, both through direct relationship management and digital campaigns. This role blends donor cultivation and stewardship with online fundraising initiatives, ensuring a seamless and engaging donor experience across platforms.
