As we embark on our new three-year funding strategy, we are looking for an innovative and talented fundraiser with a least five years experience, to join the team and help us generate new creative partnerships and opportunities. We are a small, growing team with ambitious fundraising targets and a global reach. There is potential for a number of income streams to grow, particularly philanthropists and creative partnerships with corporations, wealth collaboratives and special events.
Given the current challenging economic and philanthropic environment, we are looking for some one that can generate new fundraising opportunities through creative out of the box thinking to identify and solidify relationships with philanthropists, corporations, global foundations and beyond. The Human Resources department provides a strategic and operational HR service to the seven National Church Institutions (NCIs) and the 42 Diocesan Bishops' offices. Our HR Operations team focusses on the entire employee lifecycle providing support, advice and guidance to senior leaders, line managers and staff. The Organisational Development team lead on culture, values, wellbeing, development, and our belonging & inclusion strategy. Through our External Service team, we also offer HR support on a consultancy basis to other Church of England organisations including our dioceses and cathedrals.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as an HR Officer on a fixed-term basis for 18 months. Working as part of our HR Operations team, you will be involved in providing an outstanding proactive and professional HR service to staff and managers across the National Church Institutions, and other organisations within the Church of England.
In this role, you will be the day-to-day HR contact for NCI Staff, supporting the HR Operations Manager, HR Business Partners and Deputy People Director. You will be required to meet staff online and face-to-face and be a visible HR presence.
Main responsibilities include:
- Respond to operational HR queries via the HR Helpdesk.
- Prepare letters and documentation, liaising with payroll for employment changes.
- Monitor reports for timely DBS renewals and right-to-work checks.
- Maintain accurate employee records in line with data protection regulations.

An important part of this role will be supporting the trusts conservation grazing objectives with native and hardy breeds of livestock including Highland cattle, Exmoor ponies and Hebridean sheep.

Free To Fly is a registered charity supporting expectant mothers to leave abusive relationships and protect their unborn babies. Following successful fundraising and network-building in Portsmouth, they have appointed Charisma to support the recruitment of a Charity Manager, to lead and launch their Portsmouth project.
As their first paid employee, the Charity Manager, reporting to the Board of Trustees, will lead the day to day operational, strategic and business functions of the charity. You will be agreeing budgets and managing finances (with support and input from our Board and accountants), recruiting and mentoring volunteer teams, ambassadors, and future paid team members, driving fundraising via corporate partnerships, individual giving, events, and other income streams. With a responsibility for ensuring the charity’s sustainability, growth, and impact you will be the face and voice, representing the charity at meetings, events and in the media.
The successful candidate will be:
- Experienced in charity operations, including finance, HR, marketing, and fundraising, with a strong understanding of policy compliance and development.
- Responsible for increasing funding, driving growth and impact.
- Trauma informed and skilled in safeguarding and survivor support, with experience working sensitively with victims/survivors of abuse and protecting vulnerable adults and children.
- Excellent communicator and networker, able to build strong partnerships and represent the charity with professionalism and empathy.
- Organised, analytical, and self-motivated, with proven leadership ability, high computer literacy (Microsoft 365), and a results-focused, KPI-driven approach.
- Values-led and committed to growth, demonstrating flexibility, reliability, and alignment with the charity’s ethos and commitment to continuous development.
You will be based in Portsmouth, willing to travel and work occasional unsociable hours, with your own vehicle covered by business use insurance. This is a home-based role, and it is essential that you can work in a private working space with secure WIFI.
An Enhanced DBS check is also required (exempt under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974).

People and Culture Manager

MLC Partners are supporting a values-led organisation to recruit an experienced People and Culture Manager to join their small, collaborative People team. This is a broad, hands-on role combining operational HR delivery with leadership, projects, and a strong focus on inclusive people practices.
The Role
Reporting to the Head of People & Culture, you will provide a proactive and professional HR service across the organisation. You will lead on end-to-end recruitment, oversee onboarding and induction, manage key annual HR initiatives, and act as a trusted advisor on employee relations. You will also line-manage two People team members and play a key role in embedding equity, diversity, inclusion and belonging (EDIB) across all people practices.
A key aspect of the role will be supporting and managing organisational change, including restructures and organisational redesign, ensuring these are delivered fairly, compliantly and with clear communication - experience in previously successfully is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and continuously improve end-to-end recruitment processes, working closely with hiring managers and external partners
- Oversee induction and onboarding, ensuring a seamless and values-aligned employee experience
- Lead annual HR projects including appraisals, staff surveys and feedback processes
- Co-design and deliver people leader development initiatives and practical management guidance
- Champion EDIB across recruitment, policies, people initiatives and organisational culture
- Provide expert advice on employee relations matters, supporting managers with complex and sensitive issues
- HRIS literate, with experience in implementing and effectively embedding and monitoring new systems
- Contribute to HR policy development, payroll support and general HR operations
- Ensure compliance with employment law, GDPR, safeguarding requirements and internal policies
About You
You will be an experienced People and Culture professional with strong people management skills and confidence operating across the full employee lifecycle. You are comfortable balancing strategic projects with operational delivery and thrive in a collaborative, values-driven environment.
- CIPD L5 or equivilant experience
- Strong knowledge of employment law and best practice, particularly in change and reorganisation
- Experience leading recruitment and onboarding processes
- Experience managing and developing team members
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capability
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organisational ability and attention to detail
- A high level of discretion and professionalism

Role summary

This Senior Fundraiser will report to the Interim Head of Fundraising, with a plan to lead the team from June 2026 with a comprehensive handover.
This role will deputise for the interim Head of Fundraising when required and has huge potential for professional growth. This role will be an exciting opportunity to work with the leadership team to develop and implement the Edward’s Trust income generation strategy, and we are particularly interested in candidates that have grown corporate income. You will be individually responsible for Corporate, Legacy, and Regular Giving fundraising.
Working with interim Head of Fundraising, you will enhance the donor experience, ensure relationships are strong and that excellent personalised communication systems are in place and that we are truly audience led. You will be required to support other members of the Fundraising Team on fundraising activities where extra resources or senior representation may be required.
You will be responsible and accountable for ensuring the database (Donorflex) is maintained by the Fundraising Team alongside the Head of Fundraising.
You will be responsible for supporting the Head of Fundraising in reviewing systems and processes and ensuring that the Fundraising Team is working efficiently and in accordance with regulatory and legal requirements and best practice.
The role will involve managing and tracking the Fundraising Team budget through direct line management when appropriate and you will be required to create monthly reports and updates as well as Trustee Reports, and, when needed, to reforecast income/expenditure, liaising with the senior leadership team.
