As a Project Worker – Complex Needs, you’ll be at the heart of Single Homeless Project's (SHP) mission to end homelessness in London, working within our short-stay accommodation services that offer safety, stability, and a fresh start for people rebuilding their lives. About the role
Sightsavers’ Global technical team are looking to recruit a Global Technical Lead, Eye Health ECSA to join their team. This role is available in either Tanzania, Zambia or Kenya.
The post-holder will work closely with the Technical Director, Eye Health & URE to ensure technical leadership is provided in eye health at the programmatic level. They will ensure Sightsavers’ projects in eye health are conceptualised, designed, and implemented as aligned with thematic and programme strategy. This role offers regional and international travel throughout the tenure.

- A Professional qualification in a relevant field, such as ophthalmology, optometry, public health
- Postgraduate qualification (minimum Masters or equivalent experience) in a relevant field, such as public health, health service management, low vision/rehabilitation, international development
- Knowledge of current issues and best practices in eye health
- Fluent in written and spoken English
- Good French and Portuguese are advantageous
- Strong leadership, influencing and networking
- Strong ability to develop and adapt programming guidance tools and other resources materials

What you'll do:
- Oversee all induction and mandatory training, ensuring it meets organisational requirements

If so, this is an exciting opportunity for you to take the next step in your career by joining the Brent Irish Advisory Service (BIAS) as our Welfare and Housing Adviser for Haringey borough.
BIAS’s welfare and housing advice service supports members of the local Irish community and beyond with a range of complex issues, including disability benefits, pensions, Universal Credit, Irish passports, homelessness, rehousing, tenancy sustainment and disrepair. We are looking to appoint a dynamic, enthusiastic person who has a background or demonstrable interest in advice, welfare or housing to join our friendly advice team. Your role will involve contributing to the establishment, expansion and day-to-day running of BIAS’s advice service in Haringey borough, providing specialist advice on welfare and housing via one-to-one client appointments, completing casework and advocating for positive outcomes for your clients.
You will need to have strong people skills and the ability to build good working relationships with colleagues, clients and partners, an aptitude for working independently, excellent organisational skills and the ability to digest complex briefs. You will be required to manage an active caseload, ensuring that cases are appropriately actioned and recorded and that deadlines are met. You will work with the Advice Services Manager to build and develop the new advice service in Haringey, ensuring that we replicate our excellent quality of service, strong record of positive outcomes and loyal client base.

KEY WORK AREAS AND MAIN DUTIES
- Providing appropriate advice, information and practical help to clients via in-person appointments, outreach visits, telephone, letter or email. Where necessary, advocating on behalf of clients in the appropriate forums.

- Contributing to monitoring service delivery and recording client outcomes.

These are the basic duties required of the Welfare and Housing Adviser. However, it is necessary for all staff to be flexible and you may be required from time to time to perform other reasonable duties which are required for the efficient running of the organisation. We will also offer training opportunities to support your career development.
Candidates must be eligible to work in the UK. This role will be based in our advice venues in Haringey[1], with some presence required at our main office in Willesden and some options for flexible working (i.e. one or two days per week).

To ensure the continuation of our programmes during times of staff absence, we are now seeking to recruit a Prison Facilitator on a bank working basis to work across the west midlands region who is able to travel to cover sites in the wider area too. Working closely with prisons and their staff, people in prison, Shannon Trust volunteers and mentors, this post will support with the delivery and development of our literacy and numeracy programme in the Central region, maximising opportunities for people in prison to learn to read.
Ideally you will have some experience of prison settings underpinned by the ability to build relationships quickly and personal qualities that include resilience, determination and a problem-solving approach. You will also have a willingness to travel, sometimes at short notice, to provide short or long term cover within the region including possible overnight stays.
This role will be prison-based. This is a bank role and so the number of days to be worked will vary and are not guaranteed. Knowledge or experience within an education, qualification or training environment or an understanding of psychology qualifications and assessment models would be advantageous.

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Team Lead to run our Senior Group Session (ages14-18) at Oasis@Knights. This is an opportunity to run engaging and informative activities for young people aged 14-18 in the Lambeth area, inspiring them to reach their potential and to make a real difference to their community. The successful candidate will be responsible for running these sessions weekly, managing session staff, delivering engaging activities, attending occasional day trips, as well as responding to and reporting any safeguarding concerns.
Key responsibilities will include:
- To lead the delivery of youth sessions at Knights Youth Centre (KYC) and facilitate youth provision in line with the ethos, values and vision of Oasis.
- To work and engage with young people (aged 14-18), by delivering planned sessions, activities and occasional trips.
- Deliver informal education opportunities and small group mentoring within the identified sessions and the wider community.
- To manage and coordinate KYC staff members whilst leading sessions.
- Record all activity on our data management system.
- Promote and safeguard the welfare of children and young people you come into contact with.
- Actively engage in the learning and professional development courses provided as part of this employment.
The successful post holder must have:
· Proven experience in leading youth work provision for young people aged 14-18.
· Experience of managing staff in a youth provision setting.
· An understanding of the challenges impacting young people in Lambeth – in particular education, employment, mental health and criminal exploitation.
· Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive working relationships.
· Knowledge of safeguarding practices and experience working with young people in challenging environments.
