The Organisation
The Royal Parks (TRP) is a charity created in March 2017. We manage over 5,000 acres of diverse parkland, rare habitats and historic buildings and monuments in eight Royal Parks across London. These are Hyde Park, Kensington Gardens, The Green Park, St James’s Park, The Regent's Park and Primrose Hill, Greenwich Park, Richmond Park and Bushy Park.
We also manage other important public spaces including Brompton Cemetery and Victoria Tower Gardens. Our eight Royal Parks and other iconic green spaces are among the most visited attractions in the UK with 77 million visits every year.
We are now looking for a Retail Supervisor to join us on a seasonal, part-time contract from July to October, working 20 hours per week with the potential for additional hours.

The Role
As a Retail Supervisor, you will support the delivery of our retail operations, starting at the Hyde Park Boat House and expanding to additional retail outlets.
Working closely with the Retail Manager, you’ll help ensure our shops achieve their financial goals and maintain excellent customer service and presentation standards at all times.
Beyond this, you will also lead and develop a team of paid staff, supporting their training, performance and rota management, and create a welcoming, high-quality retail environment that delights customers.
Additionally, you will:
- Promote upselling and encourage donations and sign-ups
- Manage POS reconciliations and ensure adherence to financial policies
- Oversee stock deliveries, ecommerce fulfilment and inventory control
About You
To be considered as a Retail Supervisor, you will need:
- Significant retail management experience
- Team leadership skills, with the ability to manage people and resources effectively
- Strong financial acumen, including interpreting data and managing stock processes
- Excellent organisation and prioritisation skills
- Strong visual merchandising abilities

The role
The post holder will involve being responsible for providing timely and relevant administrative support to Scope’s retail teams (Shops, eCommerce and Commercial teams). Duties are to be carried out to a high standard and to timelines that support the demands of the retail team.
Location: Based at Scope's London office (role can be worked 4 days at head office or 3 days at head office and 1 in a Scope shop and with the option to work from home 1 day a week)
In this role:
- Offering timely support in a courteous and efficient manner to Retail teams via telephone and email, escalating and resolving any issues as required.
- Liaising with retail shops and suppliers to ensure products and services are delivered in line with pre-agreed Service Level Agreements (SLA’s) and escalating and resolving any issues as required.
- Using own initiative to proactively resolve minor issues and queries on behalf of the Retail Operations team.
- Raise and process all purchase orders on the Finance system. To ensure all invoices are correct, possible credits raised, and costs are minimised.
- Complete all required day to day required tasks to a high standard.
- Work with other teams across Scope to understand any print requirements, collating these and sending them out to shops along with any ad-hoc requests as required.
- Create reactive communications for all Retail colleagues, including shop, eCommerce and Commercial team colleagues.
- Provide absence cover for the other Retail Operations Administrative role and the Retail Communications and Engagement Lead role.
- Respond to and complete any tasks as requested by the National Operations Manager.
- Visit shops to meet shop and volunteer colleagues and customers and understand the needs of the Retail team.

We are looking for a 12-month maternity cover Commercial Marketing Manager to join our team to lead the planning and delivery of the RSPB's commercial marketing activity. Reporting into the Head of Commercial, this role will focus on supporting our Commercial functions including our reserve Visitor Operations, eCommerce, Trade and Product Licensing.
Whether it is leading national campaigns to drive footfall to our key visitor sites, working with our visitor experience consultants to promote events on reserves, driving sales through our online shop or maximising the value of our licensed products, your expertise will help drive both income and engagement for the RSPB.

Key activities will include:
- Delivering the annual marketing strategy for Visitor Operations (including destination and reserves marketing for visitor experience and events, retail, food & beverage), Trade and Licensing to achieve financial and engagement outcomes.
- Developing an annual plan for commercial marketing, promotions and campaigns across the organisation.
- Leading the delivery of commercial marketing activity ensuring that this is aligned and embedded within the overall RSPB communications and marketing plan.
- Identifying innovation and testing opportunities to expand and improve commercial marketing campaigns that maximise return on investment.
- Providing reporting, analytics and insight on marketing performance to key stakeholders to inform decision making at both strategic and tactical levels.
- Responsible for setting and managing an annual budget for commercial marketing to ensure income objectives are achieved.
Essential skills, knowledge and experience:
- Experience of developing and delivering a marketing strategy and/or plan
- Experience of applying marketing principles and best practice into delivery
- Experience of working within a Visitor Experience, Trade or retail/eCommerce marketing role
- Ability to translate a corporate strategy and/or overarching marketing strategy into operational plans to deliver impact
- Experience of developing collaborative external and internal relationships with key stakeholders to secure positive outcomes for the RSPB and for nature.
- Excellent written and verbal skills to present, influence and represent the directorate and the organisation.
- Experience of managing a budget to meet income targets and deliver strong ROI.
The RSPB reserves the right to extend or make this role permanent without further advertising dependent on business needs at the end of the contract term.
