The Role

Help transform Yorkshire Cancer Research’s digital capabilities

The Digital & Technology team was formed in late 2019 with very clear goals and objectives.

We’re on a mission to transform the Charity’s digital and technology capabilities and we’re looking for a new member of the team to help us do this. 

We look after IT, Digital Infrastructure and Cyber Security and our purpose is to provide digital systems, tools, and capabilities to enable our colleagues, volunteers and other stakeholders to be the best they can be and ultimately help the Charity delivery against its strategy – to reduce cancer deaths in Yorkshire by 2000 by 2025.

 We have a very clear strategy and roadmap which was developed in early 2020 and over the last 16 months we have delivered the following digital advances: 

  • Enabled a remote workforce in response to the pandemic by equipping all staff with laptops and rolling out Microsoft 365 to all colleagues.
  • Migrated all our data from our on-prem server to SharePoint.
  • Introduced paperless Board software.
  • Digitised our purchase order and invoicing processes.
  • Consulted on the selection of a new fundraising platform.
  • Introduced an EPOS system in our retail shops.
  • Cleaned up our entire database and introduced standards processes and training for all CRM users.
  • Introduced Bring your own device for mobiles and tablets.
  • Implemented multi factor authentication and mobile device management.
  • Rolled out new cloud based legacy administration software.
  • The list goes on…

There is still so much more to do including a full deployment to cloud, a new content management system for our website, further development of our CRM system, introduction of a digital signatures solution, office of the future, digitise patient services, create a data warehouse, a new HR system, a new volunteer management system, internal comms and lots more!
