CXK is the lead provider of Personal Careers Guidance to young people in schools and specialist centres across Kent & Medway, where we provide independent Personal Careers Guidance, via our CXK Young Peoples’ Careers Service.

The Team
We are a diverse and welcoming team of advisers, who use a wide variety of creative methods to deliver personalised, client centred, personal careers guidance, ranging from one-to-one sessions through to group guidance, parents and options evenings, as well as focused talks and assemblies. We have minimal admin and keep our clients’ experience central to what we do, providing an inclusive service with individualised action plans, including the use of visual career maps, career cards and white boards, alongside more traditional approaches where appropriate.
We follow the CDI code of ethics and best practice for Action Planning (which names and recognises CXKs innovative work in this area):
The team is led by Chris Targett RCDP, who alongside his work at CXK, is the current Chair of the Careers Writers Association and co-author of the recently released Career Development and Inclusive Practice book, published by Trotman Publishing in partnership with the CDI.

The Role
The Careers Adviser will travel across Kent, Medway, West Kent and Mid Kent Regions to a broad range of school and college settings, delivering creative and inclusive Personal Careers Guidance, as well as assemblies and drop-in sessions as required.
Each student and each learning environment will be unique, so the opportunity lends itself well to candidates who enjoy traveling and working in varied locations, meeting people from diverse backgrounds, and educating people of all abilities.
You will routinely liaise with Careers Leaders and senior school/ college staff to arrange and deliver activities for students during the school day. Whilst most delivery will take place between 8:30am and 4pm, travel before and after these times will be required and occasional attendance at parents’ and options evenings will also be required, but you will be given time off in lieu where this is applicable.
We would require you to work five days-a-week, term time only, with a pro rata holiday entitlement. If you would prefer part-time only employment (minimum of three days a week), this can be negotiated.

Minimum Criteria
- Level 6 (or above) Careers Guidance Qualification

- A willingness to deliver activities during school timetables; occasional evening events rebalanced via “time off in lieu.”

- Adept at juggling activities and travel, emails and routine project admin; balancing school site work with homebased preparation and admin
- Experience of Microsoft products and ability to use them effectively, including Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint

Introduction
Herts Welcomes Refugees is at a transitional stage of its development, moving from a charity
managed entirely by volunteers to one in which a small team of paid staff at its core facilitate and
support the trustees to guide the work of the 170 or so volunteers. The staff team currently
comprises a Volunteer Coordinator an IT Support Assistant and soon we will also be recruiting an
Administrative Assistant. The Director will also work collaboratively with the (volunteer)
Management Committee, the volunteer teams delivering services across the county and those
volunteers providing support in key areas such as evaluation media and safeguarding.
Having come through a period of rapid development in the last four years, we now need to
consolidate our knowledge and experience and further professionalise how we operate to ensure
the sustainability and further development of the charity. Whilst committed to remaining a
volunteer led charity, we need an energetic and experienced Director to support the trustees in
achieving our objectives and take the charity into the next phase of its development.
This brand-new senior role, which is being created as part of a new three-year funding programme by the
National Lottery Community Fund, is key to the next stage of our development. The postholder
will need to be flexible in working with the Trustees, existing staff team and volunteers to help
steer the charity through this transition.
Main purposes of the job:
1. To work with the trustees and volunteers in developing, supporting and facilitating the work of
the charity and its volunteers to increase the efficiency, effectiveness, quality and consistency of
the services provided to refugees and asylum seekers.
2. To be responsible for the day-to-day management and administration of HWR in line with the
organisation’s policies and in compliance with all applicable law and regulation and to manage the
staff team to increase the efficiency of the administration of the charity.
3. To support the trustees in achieving HWR’s vision, mission and charitable objects and strategic
objectives and ensure the sustainability of the charity
Major duties and responsibilities:
1. Working with trustees, staff and volunteers
1.1 To manage the staff team to ensure that individual volunteers and area teams are supported
and enabled to offer effective services across the county. This will involve regular travel across Hertfordshire.
1.2 To work with the management group to ensure its effective organisation.
1.3 To ensure that HWR's values, vision, mission are promoted and practised throughout the
organisation.
1.4 To establish and maintain an effective system for the recruitment, management, training,
support and development of volunteers and staff.
1.6 To support the organisation to ensure the inclusion and voice of service users throughout the
organisation.
1.7 To ensure that structures and systems are in place to comply with law and regulation and to
implement the charity’s policies.
1.8 To report to the trustees on the progress of the organisation and on other matters relevant to

1.10 Working with the trustees, to ensure that the organisation discharges its constitutional and
legal obligations and that the necessary resources are provided and proper standards maintained
for the protection of people and the organisation's assets.

2.1 To support the trustees in relation to HWR’s income generation activities in line with the
organisation's priorities.
2.2 Together with the trustees to consider development of other income streams, including
corporate fundraising and legacies.
2.3 To work with the Treasurer to help develop and monitor the budget.
2.4 To oversee HWR’s outsourced payroll administration
2.5 To support the trustees with identifying and managing risk.

HWR’s work, and the impact and outcomes of its services.

About The Role
You will provide full administrative support to the Legal Team, including taking telephone calls, secretarial duties, data entry, note taking, sorting the post and managing diaries. You will also be responsible for supporting the wider team when required to ensure the effective running of the service. You will need to liaise with clients and third parties, including making appointments and obtaining information. Producing reports, providing an accurate audio typing service, processing legal funding and other documents, managing files, preparing documents for court and entering information onto a case management system are other aspects of this interesting and varied role.
About You
You have secretarial experience gained in a legal practice and audio/copy typing skills with a minimum of 70 wpm, along with advanced knowledge of IT tools including case management systems and MS Office systems. You have great written and verbal communication skills and enjoy working as part of a busy team.

We work with children and adults affected by neurological conditions such as cerebral palsy, Parkinson’s, Stroke and MS. We push the boundaries of human potential for people living with these physical disabilities by teaching them, through Conductive Education, a range of skills that promote an active lifestyle and showing them that there can be life after diagnosis.
This is an exciting time to join NICE, as we begin to plan for our 40th Anniversary year and build on our existing fundraising strategy to grow our supporter base and develop new income streams to support the expansion of our services. We have a small but successful fundraising team in place, who work collaboratively to manage fundraising activity and meet agreed income targets.
We are looking for a candidate who can engage our families and individual and community supporters, compellingly convey the need for, and impact of, the work we do. The post holder will work closely with the CEO, Fundraising Manager, the rest of the fundraising team as well as other teams across the organisation, not forgetting our amazing families.
Key Responsibilities:
- Generate income across an agreed range of community fundraising initiatives and events
- Steward supporters to help maximise income and future support to the charity
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with our families and community supporters
- Be committed to helping disadvantaged children and adults
Requirements:
- Previous fundraising and income generation experience
- Experience in supporter stewardship
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage and inspire supporters
Due to the nature of our work, it is recommended that you work from our office in Moseley, Birmingham, the majority of the time. However, some hybrid working will be considered.

One25 is a Bristol charity for women moving from crisis and trauma towards independence in the community. It is a highly respected charity working with some of the most marginalised women in Bristol.
One25 services meet women at their point of need, with love and practical support. We do this through our night outreach service which is a lifeline for nearly 200 women on Bristol’s streets. Our Health Hub provides vital support for women to access health services and healthcare professionals. Our caseworkers offer intensive one-to-one care in any area of need: from support in court to finding somewhere safe to live.
We are recruiting a Recovery Caseworker to our specialist casework team. You will be supporting women who street sex work in their recovery journey to address challenges that they face as a result of substance use and to access appropriate treatment options including scripting, detox and rehab. This role is part of the wider Horizons Bristol commissioned drug and alcohol service and will involve working closely with relevant partner agencies, as well as your fellow One25 caseworkers, to achieve positive outcomes for women.

Hours: 37.5 hours a week, Monday to Friday. Caseworkers are required to complete a monthly van outreach shift (evening hours which can be taken back as TOIL) and to participate in the evening on-call rota (typically once every few months).
After successful completion of probation period, employees have the option to join the 4 Day Week pilot (work 20% less for the same salary).
Salary: £32,900 per annum

Location: St Pauls, Bristol. Some degree of hybrid / homeworking can be accommodated with this role.
