Role Requirements
- Support planning and changes in the administration of children and young people’s timetable for children and family services.
- Support with photocopying of notes for subject access/ solicitor requests (SARS).
- Manage the SARS and redacting process with appropriate members of the Therapies teams.
- Update logs and coordinate the Clinical and Safeguarding Supervision across the Therapies teams, escalating non-compliance where required.
- Monitor mandatory training compliance and administer booking processes for all relevant training sessions/course.
- Coordinating specialist clinics, including spine and hip clinics; liaising with the Physiotherapy team to ensure the correct children are on the schedule. Liaison with external Consultants to organise the clinic lists.
- Carry out audiotyping of clinic letters and distribute as required.
- Update absences within the teams onto the SMI (staff care) system, as requested by the Heads of Service.
- Place orders for any required equipment and/or resources for departments and for the children and young people as deemed necessary.
- Take overview of clinical asset ordering, linking with the clinical assets team and management system, in line with MHRA guidelines and the medical devices policy.
- Track and monitor equipment orders with Heads of service, escalate delays and provide a central overview for all equipment re-charges and ordering.
- Raise and receipt PO’s and invoices for the therapies directorate and liaise closely with the finance team.
- Undertake other or additional duties that are within your skills and abilities, as the organisation may reasonably require from time to time.
With experience of working in a complex environment, across a large and diverse workforce, you will be exceptionally organised with a high-level of attention to detail. You will naturally possess excellent inter-personal skills, and an ability to consult and positively engage with key stakeholders across the organisation.

About the role
This vacancy is for a University Access Officer to work in the West Midlands across up to 4 schools (maximum) along with working remotely; exact school location(s) to be confirmed at interview. Our schools are shown on a map of The Access Project schools on our website. Access to own transport or reliable transport would be ideal. The University Access Officer works with school staff at all levels, volunteers, and with the rest of The Access Project’s team to ensure that the delivery of the programme is optimised.
Role responsibilities
Some of our schools undertake our Accelerate model, which includes mentoring and coaching. Other schools also have tutoring included on our Accelerate Plus model. Depending on the model in the schools you are based in, role responsibilities will include:
Accelerate
- Engage with students in school and enrol them onto the programme
- Assess student progress towards being able to make successful university applications
- Upload information onto the Salesforce database (training is provided)
- Support the Volunteering team with the management of volunteer coaches to ensure they have a positive experience of the programme
- Work with school staff to ensure their cooperation and timely completion of activities contributing to the smooth running of the programme
- Chair and present at school meetings with Senior Management to report on programme progress.
- University Access Officers support the volunteering team by helping to deliver volunteer training sessions, and attending university site visits, which take place on occasional Saturdays and weekday evenings (paid time off is provided).
- Any other responsibilities reasonably deemed necessary by The Access Project’s Programme Managers or Director
Accelerate Plus
All the above responsibilities, with the addition of:
- Driving student attendance to tutorials and devise innovative solutions to encourageattendance in partnership with school stakeholders.

- Manage students’ relationships with tutors and attendance to tutorials through weekly monitoring of systems, emailing and making phone calls

Training and Development
You will be provided with regular monthly training so that you can develop your skills and succeed in the role. There is support from your line manager (Programme Manager), as well as guidance from more senior University Access Officers and the wider University Access Officer team across The Access Project. The Educational Mental Health Practitioner (EMHP) Programme is a one-year postgraduate diploma course which is part of the child mental health workforce development programme. The course started in January 2019 to train graduate entry practitioners to the child and young people mental health workforce. It is a key part of the Green Paper proposals to establish mental health workers in schools and contribute to increasing the workforce set out by the government by 2025.
The Course Tutor will support teaching delivery on the Pg Dip in Educational Mental Health Practitioner programme. Subject to candidate availability and interest, there is also an opportunity for the postholder to support the delivery of other low intensity and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)-based trainings offered within Postgraduate Studies at the Centre.
The ideal candidate will have a recognised qualification in a core mental health profession of Clinical Psychology, Child Psychotherapy, Family Therapy or Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and/ or have specific training in CBT. The post-holder will also need to have experience working with children, young people, and families with psychological/emotional difficulties in a mental health service and/ or educational setting.

About the role
This vacancy is for a University Access Officer to work in one or two schools in the West Midlands area; exact school location(s) to be confirmed at interview. Our schools are shown on a mapThe Access Project schools on our website. Access to own transport or reliable transport would be ideal.
The University Access Officer works with school staff at all levels, volunteer tutors, and with the rest of The Access Project’s team to ensure that the delivery of the programme is optimised.
Role responsibilities
- Engage with students in school and enrol them onto the programme
- Match students with volunteer tutors
- Monitor student attendance to tutorials and devise innovative solutions to encourage attendance
- Assess student progress towards being able to make successful university applications

UK Reads: Literacy Impact East London specifically focus on children and young people aged 11-18 years. The project is designed to reach young people from diverse, low-income backgrounds and ethnic minorities. We have observed that approximately 85% of our beneficiaries come from low-income families, 10% of our users are students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), reflecting the diverse range of learners we aim to support. Additionally, 45% of our beneficiaries come from Black minority communities, highlighting the importance of promoting inclusivity and addressing potential disparities in literacy outcomes.
We acknowledge that low literacy rates often vary through boroughs and are committed to reaching the most underserved, underrepresented, and marginalised young people across East London. Main Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver a structured programme of enjoyable, recreational, high-quality activities to meet the needs of children and young people with additional needs and disabilities who attend Short Breaks clubs

BACKGROUND:
For many families there are issues that precede a young person’s gang involvement. Personal circumstances typically involve poverty, unsuitable housing, separation, family conflict, domestic abuse, substance misuse, mental health and imprisonment.
Gang involvement increases the risk of violence and victimisation to the young person, their friends and their family, therefore, it essential when supporting young people to exit gangs we adopt a ‘whole family’ approach.
A ‘whole family’ approach involves working with the family to assess risk, ensuring all family members feel safe, mentoring young people who are involved in or at risk of gang and serious youth violence and offering holistic support to enable the family to achieve their potential and raise aspirations.
Without the right support, families can become trapped in a cycle of homelessness, crime, unemployment and poverty that is passed on from generation to generation.
St Giles Trust solution to this stark reality is our Children & Families Service. The C&F team offer an intensive and holistic approach that seeks to understand the complex and inter-related family issues behind poverty in order to resolve them. Children & Families Caseworkers break the cycle, unlocking chaotic families’ potential, and empowering them to raise themselves out of poverty.
Key Deliverables:
- To develop and maintain relationships with other agencies, ensuring a steady flow of referrals to the project; in particular schools, PRU’s, Youth Offending Services and Children’s Social Care.
- To support families using a 1:1 tailored and holistic practical & emotional support to improve mental health & wellbeing, housing, finances, living environment and increase their readiness to engage in training and employment
- To complete initial needs assessments with families and support them to develop individual action plans and regularly review to assess progress
- To promote inter-agency collaboration in the assessment and planning process and to include involved agencies in the delivery of the services
- To carry out and review thorough risk management plans with families ensuring each family member has an age-appropriate safety plan
- Provide a client led support service that responds to individual’s needs. Key elements will include supporting with housing, finances, schooling, parenting, health and wellbeing, ETE and criminal justice
- To support families who are affected by domestic violence, this will include working with victims and perpetrators

About the role
Our Surrey Volunteer Recruitment Manager (VRM) works closely with VRMs in Herts and London and our marketing team to promote the MCR programme to organisations and individuals. The purpose is to recruit committed volunteers who will mentor a young person in their school for one hour a week during term time. Youth Mentor
Location
· The Junction Youth Centre High Wycombe and South Bucks
Working Hours
· The Junction Youth Centre is open 7 days per week. This role is 37 hours per 7 day week, to be worked in the following format;
Three days per week 1-9pm based at The Junction Youth Centre (weekdays or weekends)
Two days per week 9-5pm based in the community and schools (between Monday- Friday)
Position in the Organisation
· Reports To: Centre Manager
· Working With: The Action4Youth team and external agencies
The Youth Mentor will deliver one to one mentoring to a caseload of young people aged 11 to 18 years (up to 25 with SEND) who are identified as at risk. They will also deliver group sessions and general youth work at The Junction Youth Centre twice a week. The Junction Youth Centre is open 7 days a week 4-9pm; the mentor will support group sessions twice a week and spend the rest of their time delivering 1:1 interventions.
The mentor will work in partnership with the Action4Youth core team based at The Junction, as well as schools and other organisations such as social services, the Youth Offending Service and Buckinghamshire Council to identity and refer young people.
The mentor will work with a mixture of young people from different backgrounds, some of whom may have disabilities or additional needs. This intervention will work with young people who are experiencing low self-esteem and confidence, anxiety, low level mental ill health and challenging behaviour.
In order to build a rapport with the young person interactions will be face to face and the mentor will meet them for approximately 1 to 2 hours per week for a 6 to 12 week period.
The mentoring programme is free of charge for all young people.
Activities structure and the role:
· To be a positive role model at all times
- To liaise with schools and other key organisations to promote the mentoring service and receive referrals.
- Work with the staff team at The Junction to deliver group work sessions and assist with general youth work on two days per week
- Build a rapport with young people and manage a caseload.
- Conduct weekly mentoring sessions with young people and to provide advice, guidance and information to young people to allow them to make informed decisions
- Work with young people to direct, and then support them, into more positive activities in their local community
- Create action plans with young people to identify their next steps
- Keep records of interactions and use the Outcomes Star framework to track progress of young people
- Maintain a quality service at all times
- Provide reports and case studies for funders as required
- Ensure Health and Safety and Safeguarding procedures have been followed and incidents reported.
Duties and Key Responsibilities
To have knowledge of and comply with the Data Protection Act.

- Report any behaviour, conversations or comments which are inappropriate within a setting for young people.
· Undertaking responsibility, as part of the team, for all Health and Safety work related matters.
- Working within the guidelines of Action4Youth policies and procedures.

Skills, Experience and Knowledge
Previous work experience in the youth, education or community sector
Experience of planning, monitoring and evaluating work with young people (Desirable)
Excellent communication skills, including being able to positively engage with young people from a wide range of backgrounds and actively involve them in the decision making process.
Confident user of IT, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint
A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (Desirable)
Experience of sourcing and building relationships with key partners and stakeholders
Experience of using the Outcomes Star framework (Desirable)
Experience of working with young people with challenging behaviour (Desirable)
Qualifications
A qualification and/or experience in Youth Work/ mentoring
