Remote/Home based, ideally in the central East Midlands areas of Leicestershire/Warwickshire, travel required. 

The NSPCC's purpose is to prevent child abuse and neglect of children across the UK and Channel Islands.  We do this through 3 core strategic goals:

Job purpose

Reporting to the Schools Service Manager, the Schools Coordinator role will mainly be responsible for delivering the Schools Service and local offer to primary and secondary school settings. This includes (not an exhaustive list): 

• Being the single point of contact for primary and secondary schools within the designated local educational authority areas, including non-mainstream settings; 

• Working to set targets, KPIs and reach plans as agreed by your line manager; 

• Responsibility for booking a minimum number of schools to deliver our Speak out. Stay safe programme; 

• Overseeing the booking and delivery of NSPCC volunteer led workshops (to 6-7- and 9–11-year-olds); 

• Actively engaging Secondary Education settings in our Talk Relationships and other programmes; 

• Managing and supervising a team of high calibre volunteers; 

• Carrying out quality assurance visits through direct observations of volunteer deliveries, giving constructive feedback; 

• Ensuring training plan is in place for new volunteers, which may include the Coordinator delivering alongside volunteers sometimes

• Providing effective individual and group volunteer supervisions; 

• Planning and implementing volunteer recruitment/attraction strategies; 

• Building and maintaining internal and external relationships, attending events or proactively promoting our offer with stakeholders; 

• Following NSPCC Schools Service safeguarding procedures to the required standards; 

• Collaboration with internal colleagues across the organisation in region; 

• Working on service-wide  projects; 

• A focus on continued professional development and practice sharing.

About the Role

We are looking for a highly organised, proactive and relationship-focused Events and Partnerships Coordinator to support the delivery and growth of ISBL’s national conference, specialist regional events, and online event programmes.

This is a varied and fast-paced role combining event delivery, stakeholder engagement, and partnership coordination. You will play a key role in ensuring our events run seamlessly while also supporting the development of meaningful partnerships that enhance the experience for our members and stakeholders.

You will be at the heart of our events programme, supporting everything from logistics and speaker coordination to exhibitor management and sponsor delivery, helping us create impactful, high-quality professional development experiences for school business leaders.

To be successful in the role, you will be an experienced coordinator with excellent customer service and telephone manner; you must have strong organisational and planning skills with the ability to work under pressure and to deadlines, as well as the ability to think outside the box and demonstrate creative flair and work well as part of a team.

Overview:

Job Title: Compost Coordinator

Responsible to: Community Delivery & Development Lead

Hours of Work: 2 days or 10 hours a week

Location: Flexible working will be required across evenings and weekends Our Compost sites and main office; Hay Hall, Tyseley All Saints Church, Omnia Medical Practice

Contract Type: Fixed Term Contract

Salary: Circa £7,000

Compost Culture is a five-year project taking place in Birmingham, supported by the National Lottery’s Climate Action Fund (NLCAF) and led by Incredible Surplus, that seeks to change the narrative on compost and support behaviour change, following a two- year initial project. This project will involve practical compost and growing initiatives alongside creative media and storytelling to show the relevance and importance of compost in how society moves forward. The project will build a resilient, self-sustaining network of composting and growing activity across Birmingham. It will inspire and support individuals, community groups, organisations and businesses to try composting and embed it as part of their daily activity and press the local authority and other agencies to support hyper-local composting as a valuable element of food waste management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop a “Compost Village” approach across project sites by building strong relationships with households, community organisations, churches, local groups and schools.
• Facilitate community knowledge-sharing around composting, soil health, waste reduction, and the role composting plays in climate action and local sustainability.
• Support the development of local composting loops, encouraging communities to reuse organic materials effectively and reduce waste.
• Deliver a strong schools-focused programme, including educating pupils and school staff on composting, biodiversity, and environmental responsibility.
• Support the installation and ongoing use of Ridan composting systems within schools alongside other composting methods appropriate to each setting.
• Work collaboratively across project delivery, supporting wider engagement activities and site-based practical work. 

Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

• A genuine passion for nature, sustainability, composting, and environmental education.
• Basic understanding of soil health, composting processes, growth cycles, and the organisms that support healthy ecosystems.
• Interest in biodiversity, wildlife, and “mini beasts” that contribute to healthy soil systems.
• Confident communicator with the ability to engage positively with schools, community groups, and volunteers.
• Good level of physical fitness, with the ability to undertake practical outdoor work while following safe lifting and manual handling guidelines.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a small delivery team.

Desirable:



• Experience working with schools, young people, or community engagement projects.
• Experience in composting, horticulture, environmental projects, or outdoor education.
• Knowledge of climate action, circular economy principles, or community sustainability initiatives.

Senior Community Engagement Coordinator

£32,440 gross per annum, 35.5 hours per week

The role

The Senior Community Engagement Coordinator role is to supervise, develop and support staff to deliver the Community, Advice & Support departmental plan. Acting as a role model for the required standard of values, behaviour and performance, we expect Senior Coordinators to help to create an inclusive and engaging environment for all.

The role is required:

• To supervise engagement projects to support the implementation of the Guild’s Community Engagement Strategy.

• To be responsible for supervising core and student staff members.

• Strengthen relationships between students and the wider community by increasing participation in community-based volunteering projects, events, and activities while promoting environmental initiatives and engagement within the local community.

Success in the role will require a highly student and customer focused approach together with an emphasis on teamwork. About Action Tutoring
At Action Tutoring, we believe every child should be given the opportunity to succeed in school. But in the UK today, young people from disadvantaged backgrounds are less likely to 

achieve the grades they need to progress in life. This isn't because they are any less able; they have less access to the tools to help them reach their potential. 

We don't think this is fair. We know tutoring is an effective way of improving academic attainment and so we harness the power of volunteer tutors to bridge the gap and ensure this help can be accessed by every pupil who needs it, not just those who can afford it.

About the opportunity

We are looking for a strong candidate with formal teaching qualifications and experience teaching core National Curriculum subjects to join our established Impact and Quality department as Curriculum and Quality Manager. This role has oversight for ensuring the creation and delivery of high-quality, tailored tutoring resources for pupils and tutors, and managing the quality assurance processes within our organisation. This role includes line managing a team composed of two Curriculum Leads. You will also work closely with colleagues in the Marketing and Communications Department to provide matrix project leadership for the delivery of Initial Tutor Training. 

To achieve this, we are looking for a candidate with experience teaching either English or maths (or equivalent) with a willingness to quickly understand the curriculum requirements in the other subject. You will have a strong understanding of how to set the standard for excellent tutor training and tutor quality assurance, using your educational expertise to shape effective training and quality assurance frameworks that enable tutors of varying experience levels to flourish. The position would suit someone who loves working in education, values pedagogical best practice, and thrives when balancing creative curriculum and quality development with operational realities.

Main responsibilities

• Project Management: Project manage the delivery of Action Tutoring’s tutor and pupil resources to a high standard and in line with agreed budgets, ensuring that they are relevant to the curriculum, engaging to use and allow for progress to be monitored. Work with the Head of Impact & Quality to set assessment questions to measure pupil progress.
• Quality Assurance & Insights: Manage the spot check process. Carry out detailed observations of online tutoring sessions, producing feedback to individuals flagged for observation by the programme team. Set annual Key Performance Indicators and produce termly insights into quality assurance, tracking impact over time. Produce an annual quality assurance report. 
• People & Matrix Management: Line manage the Curriculum Leads for English and maths, managing their work flow and projects goals. Provide matrix project leadership to Tutor Journey Coordinators for the delivery of Initial Tutor Training. 
• Training & support: Lead the annual review of Tutor Training updates, coordinating changes and/or commissioning new modules as required for quality and those proposed by the safeguarding and Tutor Journey teams. 

Essential Qualifications and Experience

We are looking for someone who is/has:

• Educated to degree level with formal teaching qualifications and experience teaching core national curriculum subjects.
• Strong subject knowledge in either English or maths; with a proven willingness and ability to quickly grasp the curriculum and exam specification requirements of the other subject.
• Right to work in the UK.

• Are able to work independently and use initiative in a range of situations; confident to suggest and implement changes to drive improvements.
• Have effective time management skills and are comfortable working autonomously.
• Have strong project management skills; able to see through longer term projects to completion to meet deadlines; able to work under pressure to ensure targets are met.
• Have experience of line management or matrix project leadership with the ability to manage workflows, set project goals, and support team development.
• Are creative; able to come up with ideas to take forward Action Tutoring’s resources and training in new and engaging ways whilst also taking account of pedagogical best practice.
• Have a pragmatic, solution-focussed approach; able to balance competing organisational demands and adapt priorities in a fast-paced environment. 
• Have strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to undertake public speaking. You will need to be able to adapt your communication style to different audiences and uphold Action Tutoring’s high standards of professionalism.
• Are computer literate, competent using Google, Microsoft, and Canva.
