Key responsibilities include:

Communication and campaign creation

• Drafting digital communication and engagement plans to deliver results. 
• Crafting exciting, creative, energetic, simple communications which drive action.
• Working to support colleagues and audiences. Working with stakeholders to ensure communications are planned and delivered at the right time to meet their needs.

Using results to drive change

• Using insight to inform new plans. 
• Monitoring and evaluating impact by using analytics to maximise effectiveness. 

Copy creation 

• Using your strong written and verbal skills to curate and manage high-quality, consistent content across all our delivery platforms: social, Live Well Hub, web, email and PR.
• Interviewing members of the community and creating engaging content from their stories.
• Generating press releases to drive coverage and awareness and raise the profile of campaigns.

Social media

• Leading on building our impact and engagement on social media with our audiences, in line with our objectives, including supporting engagement campaigns and fundraising. 
• Ensuring that we are using the best tools and techniques by staying up-to-date with trends.
• Monitoring social media, ensuring prompt and accurate responses to enquiries. 
• Using analytics to constantly optimise our social media impact. 

Email

• Developing content for email marketing, including for fundraising and events campaigns.
• Optimising email by A/B testing content to maximise performance through design and content improvements and creating triggered email sequences to build our message. 
• Using audience segmentation and personalisation to support campaigns.
• Using analytics to identify ways to constantly optimise our email impact. 

Website content plus content SEO

• Overseeing content development for the website and checking existing content so our website is kept up-to-date, engaging, and on brand.
• Ensuring web content is optimised for SEO and usability, training staff on best practice.
• Leading team efforts to enhance the website as an engagement tool. 
• Using analytics to identify potential content changes.

Engagement

• Acting as the digital community lead for engagement of our online communities on social media and the Live Well Hub, including guiding team members to follow best practice.  
• Supporting online events and driving positive engagement opportunities.
• Responding proactively and appropriately to online messages and comments.
• Engaging and participating in online community groups and discussions beyond our channels.

Brand communication

• Ensuring all activity aligns with brand priorities.
• Championing on-brand messaging. Acting as a trusted expert on brand tone of voice. 
• Ensuring all media and communications guidelines/policies are followed and kept updated. 
• Sharing best practice with the wider organisation and continuing professional development. 

Creative skills

• Generating and developing creative and innovative ideas with a good eye for brand, design, film and photography.
• Creating engaging collateral through software such as Canva, Photoshop or Indesign.
• Editing small amounts of audio or video (desirable).

Essential skills:

• High energy, with the ability to work at a fast pace, with a proactive, creative and flexible approach.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work effectively and autonomously from home while working collaboratively and building relationships as part of a tight-knit team. 
• A keen eye for detail with a consistently high quality of work output.

About the position 

This is an exciting opportunity to create change at scale, informing and promoting a practical transition to plant-based diets, in order to reduce the number of animals suffering in factory farms. Part of our Farmed Animal Campaigns team, the role will work to increase the quality and availability of plant-based options with major caterers and universities in the UK, impacting hundreds of thousands of meals daily. 

This role also includes an opportunity to support the delivery of a campaign to end the use of farrowing crates, one of the worst forms of cruelty to farmed animals in the UK today. In this role you will support the Senior Manager for Farmed Animal Campaigns to create public-facing campaign assets, and develop compelling research to underpin our policy and industry engagement.

• Conduct environmental impact assessments on menus and food procurement to effectively monitor and report on progress towards meat-reduction goals 

• Deliver compelling and informed advocacy to UK political stakeholders to encourage the adoption of policies that catalyse a just protein transition and better farmed animal welfare. 

• Support development and delivery of HSI UK’s farmed animal campaigns strategies  

• Research and present on industry-related trends and developments in the plant-based food market and alternatives to cage confinement.

Blue Marine Foundation is seeking a Programme Manager who will be responsible for the development and delivery of the Convex Seascape Survey and lead relations with the project’s funder. This role may suit someone from a corporate or account management background, preferably local to London or the southeast and willing to travel internationally as needed. This is an incredible chance to work on pioneering global science project and to join a highly impactful charity at the cutting edge of marine conservation.

The Convex Seascape Survey is two years into a five-year, multi-million-pound pioneering research project working to quantify and understand blue carbon stored in the coastal ocean floor and its potential to help mitigate climate change. Convex Seascape Survey is a partnership between Blue Marine Foundation, Convex Insurance Limited and the University of Exeter, delivered in partnership with a consortium of over sixteen other organisations.

Project management

· Lead the project management process, matched to the project grant agreement, including oversight of project finance and all deliverables.

· Coordination of project partners to ensure activities and deliverables are achieved in keeping with quarterly milestones.

· Relationship management with project partners, serving as a main point of contact and ensuring their ongoing satisfaction with the project’s progress and outcomes.

· Responsible for organising and feeding into Steering Committee meetings, as well as contributing as required to Advisory Group meetings.

· Managing supplier relationships, overseeing contracts and work package delivery. 

· Representing the project at relevant conferences and forums or visiting fieldwork sites. International travel will be required at times.

Reporting

· Report progress into the steering committee on a quarterly basis, flagging areas of concern and actioning steering committee advice.

· Develop quarterly reports and updates for the funder against deliverables.

Finance

· Overseeing budget spending data for the project with support from Blue Marine’s finance team, and co-ordinate invoicing and budget reporting for the partners.

· Liaising closely with Blue Marine’s finance team to ensure efficient deployment and tracking of project funds. 

· Coordinating finance reports for the funder and partners. 

Communications

· Present the Project at public conferences and various stakeholder events

· Supporting the communications lead in delivery of project outreach through press, digital and social media

· Contribute interviews or quotes for press on project developments.

· Assisting the development and delivery of a bespoke, project-linked education programme

The successful applicant will be highly organised, with a rigorous approach to project management. Desired experience includes:

· Successful delivery of multi-million pound, multi-year research programmes or other projects

· Track record of high-impact project management, accurate reporting and successful project delivery

· Competent and confident public-speaker with the ability to communicate complex subjects to a range of audiences which could include corporate, political and public audiences

· High level of numeracy with the ability to track multiple budgets over time

The Operations Manager is responsible for Dose of Nature’s day-to-day operational management, providing a welcoming and efficient front face and ensuring organisational effectiveness to support the delivery of Dose of Nature’s strategic objectives. Dose of Nature is a mental health charity whose objective is to improve the mental health and wellbeing of individuals through increased engagement with the natural world. Our work is rooted in a wealth of scientific evidence that demonstrates the physiological and psychological benefits of spending time in nature. We deliver ‘nature prescriptions’ to people referred by their GP with a wide range of mental health issues, including depression, anxiety, trauma, and addiction. Our Dose of Nature Prescription Programme is overseen by psychologists and is a genuine alternative to both medication and more traditional psychological interventions. • To oversee the smooth running of the studio and field, ensuring Dose of Nature’s operational systems, processes and policies are fit-for-purpose, compliant with current legal requirements and are maintained effectively and efficiently.

You will work within the Science & Regulatory Affairs team to deliver the organisation’s objectives relating to the ending of testing on animals, with a focus on regulatory testing in the chemical and consumer product sectors. Your role will mostly address regulatory testing on animals in Europe, some activities will also be relevant to the UK, and some will be internationally relevant. 

Working alongside colleagues in the Science & Regulatory Affairs team and Public Affairs team, and also in collaboration with other partner organisations and stakeholders, your efforts will increase awareness and use of non-animal methods and promote a full transition away from testing on animals.

Main Duties and responsibilities

Myeloma Patients Europe (MPE) is a pan-European organisation representing 52 myeloma and amyloidosis patient groups from over 33 European countries. It is registered as an international non-profit organisation under Belgian Law. A Board mainly composed of patients and caregivers is elected by the membership to oversee the strategy and governance of the organisation. A team of 13 staff members runs remotely the day-to-day operations, programmes and services within 4 divisions: Access and Policy, Medical Education and Scientific Engagement, Patient Evidence and Member and Patient Community Programmes.

About the Patient Evidence department

The MPE Patient Evidence department was established in 2020 to generate evidence important to patients with myeloma and their families and is led by Dr Eilidh Duncan. Our goal is to understand unmet needs in the patient population and design patient-focussed research questions which will support new understandings and knowledge. MPE partners with academia, other patient organisations, industry and regulatory bodies where possible to understand more about what gaps exist within the myeloma landscape and how to best generate evidence on these. We work alongside MPE’s policy and access team to anticipate what questions need to be asked and what the data needs are for upcoming medicines approval processes.

Psychometrician

We are seeking a Psychometrician for two days per week to lead psychometric analyses and interpret the examination results of the Royal College of Pathologists.

The College is responsible for the delivery of pathology examinations for doctors, scientists, oral pathologists (dentists) and veterinary pathologists in 17 specialties – the Fellowship examinations of the Royal College of Pathologists (FRCPath). The FRCPath Part 1 is held online and is a test of knowledge while FRCPath Part 2 is held in person around the UK as well as in the Republic of Ireland and, for histopathology, in international centres such as Dubai and Egypt. The College is regulated by the General Medical Council for the medical examinations and the General Dental Council for the Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology examinations, but the examinations are open to all appropriately qualified candidates.

The FRCPath examinations are held twice a year in Spring and Autumn and attracts approximately 1,200 candidates per session across the specialties. While some examinations attract up to 200 candidates, some examinations consistently attract very small numbers of candidates, with a number of examination cohorts sitting somewhere in between. The Psychometrician will advise on the appropriate data collection methods for the examinations and undertake psychometric analyses of appropriate examination data for each examination session and will, in time, be asked to provide analysis of longitudinal data.

As the College continues to develop its examinations, the Psychometrician will possess sufficient expertise to provide advice on the appropriate psychometric tests to undertake for the specialty examinations as different formats or methods of delivery are considered.

The examinations are delivered by an examinations team in the College which sits within the Learning Directorate. Each specialty examination is supported by an appropriately qualified panel, led by a Panel Chair, all of whom are overseen by the Clinical Director of Examinations (a pathologist). The Psychometrician will be expected to communicate with a wide range of individuals regarding the College examinations, with varying levels of knowledge about psychometrics, and will provide training for examiners and staff on a regular basis.

The College is a professional membership organisation dedicated to the advancement of the science and practice of pathology. There are currently approximately 12,000 members, all of whom are pathologists based in hospitals, universities and laboratories in the UK and overseas. The College’s main tasks are to set and maintain training standards for doctors and scientists, to advice on the appointment of consultant pathologists, to ensure the membership is kept up to date with current practice through the continuing professional development scheme, and to promote the latest developments in pathology by holding scientific meetings.
