The ideal person will have expertise in presenting analysis and insights, a strong track record in coding, tools and data management, have expert analytical and problem solving skills, be curious and questioning, with excellent attention to detail. - But you don’t have to have all the experience and knowledge we’ve listed. The Woodland Trust is looking for a Cyber Security Engineer to help us Trust-wide with our cyber security programme.
The Role:
· This role is responsible for acting as a security lead on all cloud infrastructure.
· You’ll develop and implement a leading cyber security programme to protect against cyber threats to the organisation.
· You’ll communicate effectively working in collaboration with IT partners and support the Head of Technology and Operations with projects.
· You’ll maintain cloud infrastructure, ensuring its compliance with relevant frameworks and legislation.
· You’ll manage and lead a cloud security design for new systems and migrations through the implementation phase as a part of the DE Programme and other projects.
· You’ll develop and maintain a disaster recovery plan to safeguard the organisation’s data and operations.
· You’ll lead on cyber security reviews and discussions with stakeholders and working groups.
· This role includes a mix of working from home and at our main office in Grantham, Lincolnshire. Visits to Grantham would be required once a month on average.
The Candidate:
· You have an enthusiasm for the environment and share our core values—Grow Together, Explore, Focus and Make it Count
· You’ll have experience cloud infrastructure and architecture diagrams to maintain project delivery and requirements.
· Strong communications skills with a strong ability to persuade others through writing proposals for projects.
· You’ll have experience using Azure such as Azure Monitoring configuration, Azure governance, Azure key management and Azure Backup and site recovery.
· You’ll have knowledge and understanding of relevant security frameworks and up to date legislation to ensure all infrastructure is compliant.
· You’ll have experience in designing and deploying a wide range of security technologies, tools and perimeter defence technologies.
· You’ll have knowledge of a range of security protocols including data encryption and authentication, email security and cyber adversary.
· You’ll have strong collaborative skills with the ability to work in a team and with internal and external stakeholders.

About the Role
We are looking for an IT Support Engineer to join our team, ensuring the smooth running of our IT systems and providing excellent customer service. This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to apply their technical expertise in a dynamic and engaging environment. You will play a key role in resolving IT issues, maintaining positive relationships with users, and supporting daily IT operations across the Museum and Gardens.
Key Responsibilities
• Respond to IT technical support tickets and troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues.
• Set up and maintain new and existing devices, including desktops, laptops, and network equipment.
• Assist in improving IT processes and support cybersecurity measures.
• Manage user accounts, permissions, and access issues on the network.
• Support the IT team with system upgrades and projects.
• Ensure accurate recording of IT support activities and maintain documentation.
About You
In this role, you’ll bring a hands-on approach to IT support, with a strong problem-solving mindset. You will be someone who thrives on helping others, demonstrating excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical users. You will be adaptable, eager to learn, and committed to providing top-notch IT service in a collaborative team environment.
Key Qualities, Skills, and Experience
• Experience in 1st Line Support, assisting users with hardware, software and network issues.
• Strong technical abilities with a hands-on approach to troubleshooting and IT support.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with IT support tickets and Helpdesk systems.
• Strong customer service focus with good communication skills.
• Knowledge of Microsoft 365 administration and Office Suite.
• Desirable: IT-related certifications (e.g., Microsoft, ITIL) or equivalent practical experience.
• Basic understanding of IT networks and security.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Attention to detail and effective task prioritisation.
