Reporting to the Director of Policy at global animal welfare charity, Worldwide Veterinary Service (WVS), you will support development and implementation of the charity’s processes and policies. At Worldwide Veterinary Service (WVS) we champion animal welfare around the world. We send vets where they are needed most, provide expert veterinary training in hard-to-reach places, and ship urgent aid supplies worldwide, every day of the year.

We deploy teams of vets and vet nurses, send equipment and supplies to help struggling organisations on the front line of animal welfare, and train vets at our international training centres in India, Thailand, Malawi and the Galápagos Islands.  We also work on strategic one health projects such as rabies elimination campaigns with Governments and NGOs all over the world.

Last year, WVS treated over 103,000 animals, trained over 2,800 vets, deployed teams of vets all over the world, and sent over 1,042 parcels of veterinary supplies to 231 charities in 65 countries. Over 1.2 m dogs were vaccinated against rabies last year as part of our Mission Rabies campaign.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

 Policy and Governance

• Assist with organisation of trustee meetings.
• Maintain up-to-date records of policies, procedures, and statutory documentation.
• Support compliance with Charity Commission requirements.
• Coordinate risk management processes, policy reviews and ensure timely updates and dissemination.
• Work closely with colleagues to provide technical advice and ease the implementation of policies at WVS projects around the world.
• Support audits in the UK and of international affiliates.
• Liaise with trustees and external partners to support governance processes.

People

• Support recruitment processes across teams including advertising, and onboarding.
• Maintain accurate and confidential staff and volunteer records in line with GDPR.
• Support uniform induction for staff and volunteers to maintain culture during a period of rapid growth.
• Assist with the effective communication and implementation of policies and procedures.

General

• Any Other duties as required

Essential Skills & Experience

•  2 + years’ experience in HR or governance administration.

The Finance Officer will work within the Finance Department to provide essential day today financial processing, support and advice. The post-holder will be a key member of the team in keeping accurate and up to date records of the organisations financial activities on both the accounting system & associated files.

You’ll be based at the Wildlife Trust’s Head Office at Centre of the Earth, 42 Norman Street, Birmingham, B18 7EP, with some work at our EcoPark site in Small Heath and occasional travel across the region and nationally. 

Key Responsibilities

• Creation and maintenance of processes and systems to ensure the smooth running of the finance function including adding new suppliers and customers to the system
• To be responsible for keeping up to date and accurate records of financial transactions on Excel and the accounting system

• To liaise with suppliers and creditors to maintain relationships as part of cash flow management.

Ruils is run by, and for, disabled people. It exists to remove the barriers that prevent disabled people from living independent lives. Its vision is a society where all individuals have the choice and control to live independent lives.

We are working with our local Primary Care Networks to deliver Social Prescribing in Richmond. Social Prescribing is part of the NHS Long-Term Plan and enables GPs and other health care professionals to refer patients to a Link Worker who can work with the individual to connect them with services and activities in their local community.

The role aims to empower people and take control of their lives. It involves working with people who may be experiencing a number of issues, so you will need outstanding listening and communication skills, empathy and enthusiasm. You will need excellent organisational skills, be adept at seeking out information for relevant community services and have a tenacity to help people achieve sustainable improvements in their wellbeing.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manage a caseload of clients and incoming referrals, providing appointments through various methods to meet client needs
• Work with individuals on a one-to-one basis to assess their needs, create personalised action plans and locate support within the community
• Engage with community organisations and specialist services that provide support to ease the pathway for your clients
• Build and maintain relationships with Primary Care Networks, GPs, health care professionals and services across the borough

Role Description:

Prospect Research & Lead Generation

· Conduct comprehensive desk-based research to identify new grant, trust, and foundation funding opportunities.

· Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of prospective funders aligned with strategic priorities.

· Assess and prioritise prospects based on fit, likelihood, and potential value.

Bid Writing & Income Generation

· Lead the development and submission of high-quality funding applications to trusts, foundations, and grant-making bodies.

· Collaborate with internal teams to gather information and project details for compelling proposals.

· Monitor deadlines and proactively plan submissions to maximise success rates.

Grant Management & Impact Reporting

· Manage a portfolio of secured grants, ensuring compliance with funding requirements.

· Develop and deliver timely, accurate reports that demonstrate project impact, notably contributing and leading on the Annual Impact Report

· Track and deliver funder required reports for each grant received.

· Maintain strong funder relationships through regular updates, meetings, and stewardship.

Systems Development & Departmental Support

· Create and implement systems to track funding applications, deadlines, income targets, and reporting requirements.

· Develop tools to assess and prioritise new funding opportunities.

· Contribute to building a collaborative fundraising and communications function.

· Ensure compliance with legislative/regulatory requirements and best fundraising practice.

· Provide regular financial, KPI, and impact reports.

General/Administrative

· Be a champion for Bristol Charities, representing the vision, values and purpose of the charity at external networking and professional events, as and when required.

· Support and attend staff meetings, staff away days and events as requested. ·

Salary: c.£40,000 FTE, negotiable for the right candidate, pro rata

Person Specification: Knowledge, Skills & Experience

Essential

· Proven experience in fundraising from grants, trusts, and foundations, with a strong track record of success.

· Excellent research skills with the ability to identify and assess new funding opportunities.

· Strong written communication skills with the ability to craft persuasive and tailored funding proposals.

· Experience of managing grant reporting and demonstrating impact to funders.

· Highly organised with strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.

· Ability to develop and implement systems and processes to support fundraising activity.

· Collaborative approach with excellent relationship-building skills both internally and externally.

· Relevant professional qualifications, or qualified by experience.

· Ability to forecast and manage budgets.

Desirable

· Understanding of the charity sector in Bristol, particularly work relating to social justice, older people, or community-led initiatives.

· Experience of working in a small or developing fundraising team.

· Familiarity with fundraising databases or CRM systems.
