We have a great opportunity for a Senior Individual Giving Executive working for a fantastic national children’s charity.
This role will project manage a range of Individual Giving campaigns, which have substantial income and expenditure budgets. The role will sit within the Acquisition team, focusing on regular giving and weekly lottery, and work within the development and stewardship teams on appeals, raffles.
As part of this exciting role, you will manage a portfolio of innovative and high-performing campaigns across digital, direct mail, DRTV, and more. You’ll work with leading creative and media agencies, contribute to strategic planning, and help shape the future of supporter engagement.

To be successful as the Senior Individual Giving Executive, you will need:
- Proven experience managing direct marketing campaigns across multiple channels

We are looking for a Head of Individual Giving & Supporter Engagement to join the team in this hybrid working role.

Position: Head of Individual Giving & Supporter Engagement
Location: Cambridge/Hybrid
Salary: £50,000 - £55,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Hours: Full Time (37.5 hours per week)

The Role
You will lead the Individual Giving and Supporter Engagement strategy, delivering the growth needed to make two new hospitals – Cambridge Cancer Research Hospital and Cambridge Children’s Hospital – a reality.
You will:
- Lead a team of fundraisers to deliver inspiring appeals and innovative fundraising propositions.
- Drive net income and supporter growth across all Individual Giving streams including regular giving, digital, appeals, and lottery.
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and analysis, ensuring activities are insight-led and maximise return on investment.
- Develop first-class donor journeys and stewardship experiences to foster supporter loyalty.
- Play a pivotal role in engaging Addenbrooke’s patients and staff to build a sustainable mass participation fundraising model.

About You
We’re seeking an ambitious and data-savvy fundraising leader who can think both strategically and creatively.

- Exceptional understanding of supporter engagement, CRM systems, and compliance including GDPR.
- Experience in developing innovative products and donor propositions, ideally in a healthcare or charity setting.

Role & Responsibilities
Our Fundraising team is growing and as such, we’re looking for a creative and passionate individual to join us in a brand-new role of Membership & Individual Giving Manager.
Membership is one of the key strategic priorities to achieve unrestricted income over the next five years, and in this role, you’ll be overseeing recruitment, retention and managing attrition of members, understanding our members and creating relevant offers and experiences. The role will manage income from individuals through appeals and growing income and support through our nature reserves. The time spent on each area be approximately, membership 60%, IG 30% and legacies 10%.
Our ideal Membership & Individual Giving Manager
- Significant experience in Direct Marketing including Individual Giving and membership/regular giving programmes
- Experience of digital marketing including use of social media to grow supporter base and raise income
- Experience using data, audience insight and analysis to optimise messaging and increase campaign effectiveness
- Experience delivering supporter journeys that are well planned, joined up, and motivate potential and existing supporters with a personalised and positive experience.

The Development and Advocacy Department (D&A) plays a vital role in this, by securing the Arts Council England grant (currently over £22m) plus raising over £41m revenue annually plus additional for capital, advocating to government and other influencers for our value and role in the community and sector, and in ensuring we deliver on our charitable mission, retain the best artists and crafts people, maintain our beautiful grade I listed building and continue to produce world class performances.
Working within an experienced, successful and highly committed department, this role will create, deliver and implement the strategy for the Membership Programmes (Friends and Patrons) at the Royal Ballet and Opera (RBO), to meet agreed annual income targets (currently £10m in membership fees and events). Working closely with colleagues across departments, you will look at recruitment and retention, campaigns, events, review of products and services and ensure our sector leading offering is effectively delivered.
Our ideal candidate will be a natural leader, who will adeptly manage a large team to meet objectives and work to high performance standards. They will have the ability to operate effectively at all levels and across functions, building strong relationships and driving a culture of collaboration and knowledge sharing.
They will be able to demonstrate:
- Extensive experience of running and growing philanthropic income from large scale membership programmes in performing arts/ museum/ wider charity sector, with up-to-date knowledge of tax and other technical issues
- Highly developed written and verbal communication skills, with ability to inspire and influence a wide range of stakeholders
- The ability to drive and deliver a successful season plan for key moments when tickets go on sale and audience engagement
- Excellent programme and project management skills, with a track record of achieving demanding goals to tight deadlines
