Job Purpose
Lead and develop the charity’s HR and Volunteering functions (People) to foster a positive, engaging, and inclusive work environment, in line with the organisation’s values and EDI objectives
Key Tasks
Leadership
• Work with the People Sub-Committee (PSC) and SMT to develop and implement organisational people strategies and plans to support the delivery of our organisational strategy for older people.
• Have responsibility for our progress against these plans; measure and report this to PSC and SMT, including by administering our annual people survey, volunteer survey and trustee survey. Identify areas that require improvement and make recommendations for change.
People management
• Oversee People-related policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with UK employment law and best practices.
• Support the development and implementation of Learning and Development (L&D) initiatives.
• Provide support and guidance to those in line management roles within the organisation including on performance management issues and processes.
• Provide line management and support to the Community and Volunteer Manager, ensuring 6 their work aligns with organisational priorities.

Administration

Sounds great, what will I be doing?
The role involves reporting and analysis by examining different business areas, producing reports for budget holders and the executive team, and presenting conclusions to support decision-making. Responsibilities include analyzing business performance on a monthly basis for specific areas, meeting regularly with strategic budget holders to review spending, highlighting underperforming areas, and supporting executive budget holders in implementing improvements. Reports will be prepared that link both financial and non-financial information.
In terms of budgeting, the role requires working with executive budget holders to develop annual budgets and monthly forecasts, with a strong understanding of the key drivers behind budget bids and forecasts. It also involves analyzing budgets and forecasts by area, explaining variances between actual, budgeted, and forecasted results, and writing monthly management accounts commentary for allocated areas.

About the role
Joining our dedicated team of nurses, you will support our helpline and Ask Our Nurses (AON).
The nursing team includes an associate director, senior clinical nurse specialists, clinical nurse specialists, sessional nurses and trained helpline staff.
You will act as a resource for clients, healthcare professionals and the wider public about breast health and breast cancer. This includes providing information and support to clients though our national helpline, by email and social media.
The helpline service is run throughout the week, and on Saturday mornings (the latter is optional, other than training days) and the helpline hours are 8:45am to 4.00pm. Team training usually occurs twice a year on Saturdays. You’ll be supported by a senior clinical nurse specialist and have regular clinical supervision. We are looking for candidates who can work at least one day (6.25 hours) per week

ABOUT THE ROLE
Support the Finance team in delivering accurate and timely financial processing and reporting. Where allocated, this role focuses on income and expenditure transactions, financial controls, reconciliations, and customer and supplier support, while providing cross-functional support across the Finance department to ensure continuity and compliance.

Record payment transactions in the finance database, including cash allocation and currency conversions. The Role
The role of the Events team within Alpha International is to oversee the organising of Leadership Conference (LC) in-person, any events around Leadership Conference (including Donor events, Wednesday CEF event, Alpha Staff day, regional satellite events) and London-based Alpha events across the year (such as Alpha Collective and Experience Alpha).
This role is responsible for managing health and safety across the HTB sites, catering (crew, bloom café, Brompton road food vans and green rooms), internal deliveries and LC app, along with other LC related tasks.
The Key Responsibilities
Logistical arrangements:
o Development and execution of the events Day Plan. This is a minute-by-minute detailed plan that holds all the information of what will take place at the event
o Gathering technical and logistical requirements from speakers, stream leaders and internal departments; then negotiating this with the IT, Production, Vergers and Volunteers Teams or with an external venue or AV suppliers
o Determining catering requirements and caterer management
o Hiring of any additional venues as required and HTB site logistics
