About the role
This is an exciting time to join Young Lives vs Cancer as we set up a new Brand Marketing and Communications function including a team of digital experts.
The Senior Digital Marketing Officer role is part of the newly created Digital Engagement team working to deliver exceptional digital activity that delivers against organisational objectives.
You will work on digital campaigns across email, organic social and paid digital marketing channels, including PPC and social media. This role will be vital in setting up a new digital hub of expertise within the organisation and helping to drive forward the best use of digital channels.
·Support the Digital Engagement Manager and wider team to develop end-to-end campaigns across digital marketing channels including PPC, paid social and email from brief to execution and evaluation.
·Align the paid digital and email activity with our overall digital strategy and develop clear guidance around how to use our paid digital channels to maximum effect.
·Monitor the impact of marketing campaigns, identify and recognise trends within the data and use these to inform future campaigns.
·Support a data driven and test and learn approach within the team, encouraging continual learning and optimisation, particularly focused on a testing approach to donation journeys.
·Young Lives vs Cancer is open to and in support of flexible working. Your flexibility requirements and that of the role will be discussed at interview stage with you.
This role is remote and can be based anywhere in the UK with occasional visits to our London / Bristol offices.

·Managing marketing campaigns across digital channels including PPC, paid social and email. From brief through to execution and evaluation.
·Knowledge of how to effectively track and measure digital KPIs including an understanding of google analytics and how to report on and interpret data from digital channels

At Cancer Research UK, our Health Community Engagement team delivers targeted cancer awareness activity in areas of greatest need across the UK. Our Talk Cancer programme trains people through interactive workshops delivered by experienced nurse trainers (face-to-face, online, and interpreted into any language), our social media channels, and our newsletter. We also run an internal Cancer Research UK staff training scheme and learning plan on how to talk about cancer. It's an exciting time to join the team with our Talk Cancer programme being central in our work to help to reduce health inequalities. We now have a great opportunity for someone to join us as a Senior Communications Officer. In this role, you can expect to support the effective development and delivery of Cancer Research UK's Talk Cancer training programme. This role seeks to maximise the reach, targeting and impact of the programme, as well as ensuring optimal engagement with new and existing trainees.
What will I be doing?
Responsible for key aspects of the Talk Cancer training programme, including co-ordinating all programme marketing, managing our Talk Cancer social channels, running our internal training offering and leading our efforts on targeting our training to the highest need areas of the UK.
In particular, you will be:
Leading on promoting the Talk Cancer programme internally and externally. This includes creating proactive marketing plans and materials, generating and responding to relevant promotional opportunities, writing public-facing communications and creating engaging content. This may involve working independently or utilising the channels and expertise of other CRUK teams (e.g. our in-house design team).
Engaging Talk Cancer trainee's by writing and sending regular newsletters and creating content for Talk Cancer's social channels and main CRUK channels
Having ownership of all Talk Cancer web content, with the responsibility to review and update, ensuring the best search optimisation practices are used, as well as reporting on web performance
Managing the 'Talking About Cancer' internal learning plan through updating content, responding to comments, promoting to staff, and reporting on performance
Building and managing effective relationships with internal stakeholders who ensure the quality and accuracy of our content including colleagues in our Health Information & Cancer Intelligence teams
Ensuring programme training content and marketing materials are in line with the latest audience insight, brand requirements and accessibility considerations.

Our award winning fundraising division is currently looking for an Engagement and Stewardship Executive to join our Partnership and Philanthropy team in this newly created role for the charity.

* This role is not a donor-facing role but sits within the newly created Partnerships and Philanthropy Operations team that provides the back-of-house systems, processes, content and support to enable donor-facing colleagues to operate efficiently and effectively.
* We ask all members of Age UK's Partnerships and Philanthropy department to work from our London hub near Tower Hill at least once a week to enable collaboration, skills development and team dynamics (currently Thursdays). About the Role:
As an experienced and innovative Marketing Manager, you will have the chance to challenge and develop key channels to drive continued success in attracting new supporters to WaterAid.
The role is to project lead the day-to-day development, management and delivery of a number of fundraising campaigns across channels such as DRTV, inserts and door drops. Overseeing the creative and delivery of campaigns from initial brief through to post campaign analysis, contributing to and ensuring the Supporter Activation team meets agreed objectives and income targets.
Key to this role will be to lead on the management and development of the DRTV programme (from creative to planning) which plays a significant part in the activation programme.
You'll also:
- Lead on the management, delivery and development of all aspects of the DRTV programme. Taking particular responsibility for creative development and innovation, media planning and campaign analysis.
- Support the Senior Marketing Manager (Supporter Activation) in the strategy and innovation of the DRTV programme to drive growth in this pivotal channel.
- Support the Senior Marketing Manager and working closely with the Marketing Officers to manage, deliver and develop the other channels in the extensive activation portfolio such as inserts, door drop and integrated media and creative campaigns, taking particular responsibility for media planning, buying and analysis.
- Support the Senior Marketing Manager in the management, delivery and development of campaigns within the Brand Consideration programme. Including collaboration with a wide number of internal teams and external colleagues to create integrated creative campaigns utilising multiple channels.
- Lead media and creative agency relationships at a strategic level; including taking a lead on pitching and appointing new agencies, including contract management. Act as first point of contact for external partners where required, taking responsibility for resolving queries, trafficking all stages of projects, escalation of potential problems and performance reviews.
- Lead on creative development; contribute to the overall strategy for the Individual Giving & Engagement Team, make decisions on creative strategy, approach, copy and design, working closely with Communications Team to accurately reflect the brand.
- Develop, plan and manage complex income and expenditure budgets for a portfolio of activities, some with six figure budgets and targets; including using complex reforecasting models to provide projections for income and expenditure.
- Ensure that all communications are carried out within FRSB, DPA and Charity Commission guidelines.
About You:
- Substantial proven experience of working in a similar fundraising and/or customer marketing role managing an expenditure budget to deliver campaigns using a wide range of media.
- Proven experience of managing DRTV campaigns, working closely with media, creative and production agencies.
- A track record of developing and implementing successful direct marketing strategies working in a complex direct marketing role / team. Including experience of strategic planning and executing multi-faceted activation campaigns for both below and above the line channels.
- Proven experience of managing large volume media campaigns including media planning, buying and analysis.
- Significant project management experience including identifying new fundraising opportunities and developing a framework for implementation.
- Experience of developing and managing complex budgets, using relevant monitoring and evaluating tools.
- Ability to develop, monitor and adapt DM strategies for the implementation of fundraising channels; including advising on the direction of the overarching direct marketing programme.
- Experience of successfully developing high level relationships with senior staff and stakeholders both internally and externally.
- Experience of leading a team and line management of one or more team members.
- Excellent written and numeracy skills with attention to detail and the ability to use spreadsheets to formulate and analyse complex budgets and make informed decisions.
- Excellent negotiation skills, and communication skills including experience of presenting to internal and external stakeholders.
- A good understanding of fundraising principles.

As part of the function’s senior management team, this role will lead a team of finance business partners who will provide outstanding partnering services to our central services including large functions such as Estates and Facilities, IT, Students & Education, Research Management and on other crucial ‘head office’ activities. Working closely with the corporate reporting team on the provision of management accounts, you will lead on financial performance support in-year and across our three-year financial planning framework. This is a brand new role based in our Innovation Team, working closely with Communications colleagues, to use our existing evidence base and that of our partners to develop robust policy positions. As a politically neutral organisation that does not currently have a policy function, we want our start to policy work to be rooted in structured research, drawing out themes across transport modes and disability types to tell a clear story about what changes would make the biggest difference to disabled people. We want to do so in a transparent way that prioritises sharing what we know and convening key stakeholders to bring them on a journey with us.

Able to follow brand guidelines, tone of voice, and community guidelines, you have experience of social listening platforms, social copywriting, and running social media for a complex portfolio in a matrix organisation or professional environment.
A motivated and ambitious individual with excellent organisational, and interpersonal skills, you have excellent customer facing communication skills (written and verbal) and the ability to use your own initiative to problem-solve.
