Job description
 
This organisation supports anonymous recruitment. That means hiding your personal identifying information, removing bias from the hiring process.

This role will take responsibility for sharing our charity voices – from individuals and families to healthcare professionals – and securing proactive opportunities for them across earned and owned channels.

These stories will be inspiring and emotive and will fulfil our strategic aim of raising awareness of the impact of muscle-wasting conditions and show how people benefit from our work, to motivate and engage people to come to us for support, to give support and fundraise for our cause.

The successful candidate should have:

  • Experience of working in a busy and professional communications team, preferably in the third sector or in a newsroom
  • Experience of working with case studies or vulnerable people and preparing them for use in the media 
  • Experience of interviewing and writing case study-led stories for the media and web, ideally for a charity client

Expectations in the role

  • Working across teams, with the support of the PR Manager, to identify, develop and connect people who are prepared to tell their story or experience of fundraising for Muscular Dystrophy UK. 
  • Fulfiling a PR support and coaching role for a team of Regional Development Managers across the UK, who will feed in supporter stories
  • Developing communications plans for national awareness days
  • Contributing to monitoring and analysing charity media coverage. Produce evaluations for media campaigns

Location
