About the Role

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Finance Business Partner to join our Finance Team based at our Head Office in Abbots Leigh.

Reporting to the Finance Director, this is a key role providing financial insight, analysis and advice to support informed decision-making and drive financial performance across both Freeways and Freeways Trust.

A key part of the role is the preparation of accurate and timely monthly management accounts and analysis for both charities, ensuring the information produced is clear, insightful and supports effective financial management and reporting. You will lead in the financial planning, monitoring and performance reporting for Freeways Trust.

You will also support the Finance Director with strategic financial planning, long-term forecasting and the development of the financial and strategic estates plan for both organisations. Working in a strong, collaborative relationship with the Finance Operations Manager, you’ll help ensure the integrity of financial reporting and the alignment between operational finance and business planning.

In this role, you will:

· produce accurate, timely and insightful monthly management accounts and reports for both Freeways and Freeways Trust

· lead the financial planning, monitoring and reporting for Freeways Trust, including reporting at Board level

· support the Finance Director in developing long-term financial and strategic estate plans for both charities

· partner with senior managers and budget holders to provide expert financial analysis and advice

· work closely with the Finance Operations Manager to maintain strong controls and alignment across financial systems and processes

· coach and support non-financial managers to strengthen their financial understanding and decision-making

· oversee payroll activity and ensure compliance with internal controls

· identify and lead improvements to financial reporting and planning processes

· deputise for the Finance Director when required

About You

You will be a qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA or CIPFA) with at least three years post-qualification experience, or able to demonstrate equivalent experience at a similar level. You will have excellent analytical and communication skills, a proactive approach and the ability to influence decisions through sound financial insight.

You will also have:

· Proven experience in preparing management accounts and financial reports

· Strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting and performance monitoring

· Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

· The ability to build strong working relationships across all levels

· Advanced Excel skills and experience in using accounting systems such as Access Financials or Dimensions

· Experience of working in the charity or public sector (desirable)

· A collaborative approach and a focus on continuous improvement

Role purpose 

We are seeking an organised, data-driven, and creative Senior Individual Giving Officer to support the delivery of high-quality fundraising campaigns that inspire new and existing supporters to give. You will play a key role in developing excellent supporter and stewardship journeys that encourage repeat gifts and maximise supporter lifetime value.

You will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging direct marketing campaigns across print, digital and email channels, with a particular focus on one-off appeals, regular donations, and incentivised giving products. 

Working closely with the Marketing & Campaigns Manager and Marketing & Communications Officer, you will develop audience-led supporter journeys, compelling fundraising copy, and test-and-learn approaches to build lasting supporter relationships and grow income for Southampton Hospitals Charity.  You will also support budgeting and performance reporting, analysing campaign results to inform and optimise future activity. 

Key tasks and responsibilities  

Campaign development and delivery 

• Work with the Campaigns & Marketing Manager to plan and deliver a calendar of direct marketing campaigns across print, email, and digital, focused on income generation and donor retention. 

• Work with the Marketing and Communications Officer to develop compelling, supporter-centred fundraising copy for appeals, donation forms, landing pages, emails, and stewardship content. 

• Coordinate campaign production, from creative briefing to print and fulfilment, working with suppliers, designers, and mailing house partners as needed. 

• Lead on campaign timelines and ensure activity is delivered on time and within budget. 

• Work with colleagues across the charity to gather impactful case studies and project updates for use in donor communications. 

• Manage and maintain campaign collateral such as templates, thank-you letters, and welcome packs, ensuring brand and message consistency. 

Supporter journeys & stewardship 

• Develop and implement supporter journeys for new and existing individual givers, ensuring timely and relevant follow-ups to donations. 

• Identify opportunities to improve retention and upgrade rates through targeted communications and segmentation.

• Ensure all donor touchpoints (e.g. donation forms, thank-you pages, emails) provide an excellent experience. 

• Collaborate with the Fundraising and Operation teams to ensure donor communications align with wider charity messaging. 

• Support fundraising campaigns with tailored communications for regular givers, lottery players, payroll givers, and one-off donors. 

• Provide outstanding donor stewardship to foster repeat support and promote additional giving opportunities, including legacy gifts. 

Data & insight 

• Work closely with Database & Insights Officer to segment data and analyse results to inform and feed into longer-term strategic plans to maximise donor lifetime value. 

• Regularly track and report on KPIs such as response rate, income, ROI, and donor retention. 

• Lead on A/B testing within appeals and digital communications, using results to optimise future campaigns. 

• Maintain accurate supporter data and adhere to GDPR, PECR, and fundraising best practices. 

• Act as a liaison between fundraising and marketing to ensure coordinated and effective campaigns. 

• Ensure all fundraising materials follow brand guidelines and ethical fundraising codes.

Person specification 

Knowledge and experience 

• Experience working in the charity or healthcare sector 

• An understanding of Individual Giving practices and techniques

Purpose of the job

The Senior Hr & Operations Officer is responsible for the charity’s day to day HR and operational functions to ensure efficiency and compliance. The role involves managing recruitment, onboarding and mandatory training records whilst maintaining accurate HR records.

Operational responsibilities include co-ordinating office administration, procurement and facilities management to ensure a safe, productive workplace. Duties and responsibilities

Human resources

1. Maintain employee records in line with GDPR principles and confidentiality requirements

2. Support health and safety compliance with our external Health and Safety Partners, Croner

3. Co-ordination of employee mandatory training including keeping accurate training records

4. Oversee the day-to-day management of our HR management system, BrightHR

5. Support SLT through the full recruitment cycle from job posting to conditional offers and pre-employment checks

6. Manage the Onboarding process for new starters to ensure a positive induction experience

7. Ensure compliance with legal policy frameworks related to employment and health and safety

8. Provide HR guidance and support to SLT and employees on employee relations and workplace policies in liaison with our external HR partner, Croner

Join Sutton Nightwatch and help us raise vital funds to support and raise awareness for the homeless people within the London Borough of Sutton and surrounding areas. You’ll lead on strategy, grow donor relationships, and deliver ambitious fundraising targets that directly transform lives.

Sutton Night Watch is a registered charity which was set up to support and raise awareness for the homeless people within the London Borough of Sutton and surrounding areas.

Over the past 10 years, with the support of local business, the local community and fundraising efforts, we have been able to grow and expand into our own, permanent base in December 2019.  From here we are able to not only provide the essentials such as food, showers and clothing supplies, but we are able to also offer our service users a range of health services, benefit advice, wellbeing and educational based courses, clothes, washing facilities and most importantly, a place where people are seen, heard and understood. We also support people to find secure accommodation. In the past 3 months we have found homes for 13 people.

Job Purpose:

The Fundraising Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing fundraising strategies to secure financial support for the organization.

Our annual fundraising target is set at c250k (cash income) plus additional targets for in-kind donations, preloved donations and donated services. These support the growth and sustainability of our operations, ensuring we can continue to provide essential items and services to local people experiencing homelessness.

This role involves managing donor relationships, coordinating fundraising campaigns, organizing events, and ensuring income targets are met to sustain and grow the charity’s mission.

Key Responsibilities:

Fundraising Strategy & Planning

• Develop and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy across individual giving, corporate partnerships, grants, trusts, community fundraising, and events.
• Set annual income targets and monitor performance against goals.
• Identify new opportunities for sustainable income generation.

Donor & Stakeholder Management

• Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with donors, corporate partners, and sponsors.
• Ensure regular communication, reporting, and stewardship to encourage long-term support.
• Work closely with trustees, senior management, and volunteers to maximize fundraising potential

Campaigns & Events

• Plan, deliver, and evaluate fundraising campaigns and events (in-person and digital).
• Oversee community and challenge events, ensuring participant engagement and fundraising success.
• Leverage digital channels and social media to promote fundraising initiatives.

· Grant & Bid Writing

• Research and apply for funding opportunities from trusts, foundations, and grant-making bodies.
• Prepare compelling proposals and reports to secure and retain funding.

· Financial Management & Reporting

•  Oversee fundraising budgets, track expenditure, and ensure cost-effective delivery of campaigns.
• Produce accurate and timely reports for senior management and trustees.
• Ensure compliance with fundraising regulations and ethical standards.

Skills & Qualifications

• Proven experience in fundraising,  within the nonprofit sector.
• Strong track record of meeting or exceeding income targets.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
•  Knowledge of fundraising regulations, GDPR, and donor stewardship best practices.

Meet your Manager

In this role you will be managed by Cheryl King-McDowall. Cheryl joined ClientEarth from the UK Cabinet Office, where she worked on Government Communication professional standards and major programmes including Covid Communications, UK GREAT Campaign, and the Leadership College for Government. On secondment from the Cabinet Office she led the creation of a new operating model for the House of Commons’ HR function. Prior to this, Cheryl has worked in and led HR, Policy, Communications and Operations, for over 30 years in a variety of organisations including Local Authorities, Charity, NGO, and Higher Education sectors. With a background in occupational and organisational psychology, she specialises in organisational development and effectiveness, change and business improvement.

Main Duties

• Serve as a key member of the People & Culture management team, contributing to strategic planning, operational delivery, and team development ensuring best practice and drive consistency across global teams.
• Provide expert advice to senior leaders and People & Culture colleagues on HR policy, organisational design, workforce planning, and change management.  
• Provide expert guidance on employee relations matters, including handling complex and sensitive cases such as grievances, disciplinary actions, and performance issues. 
• Work closely with legal advisors, managers, and Unions to ensure fair, transparent, and legally compliant outcomes.
