Main duties of the job

The Charity Director is responsible for driving the purpose and impact of Frimley Health Charity (FHC), ensuring the charity delivers meaningful benefits to patients, staff, and the wider community. The role combines strategic leadership with active operational involvement, across income growth and translating the charity’s vision into practical initiatives and improvements. The postholder will develop and implement a plan to deliver on the newly agreed FHC strategy to grow income streams, maximise impact, and maintain low operating costs, while also engaging directly in day-to-day operations to ensure the charity runs smoothly and efficiently.

In addition to strategic planning, the Charity Director undertakes hands-on tasks such as financial management, data analysis, market research, process improvement, and reporting to the Charitable Funds Committee and Trust Board. The role involves leading a small, high-performing team, supporting staff in their day-to-day work, and maintaining a culture of collaboration and accountability. The postholder also engages directly with patients, staff, donors, and community partners, and oversees marketing, communications, creative projects, and wellbeing initiatives, ensuring that all activities align to the charity’s purpose. The charity aims to generate an income of £2 million per annum and there is an expectation of the postholder to grow the charity over the coming years.

JOB PURPOSE
The Director of Fundraising and Development (Maternity Cover) will provide strategic leadership and direction across all fundraising and income-generating activities, ensuring the charity continues to deliver against its financial objectives and accelerates long-term, sustainable growth across our philanthropic, public, and commercial income streams.
You will bring strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills to equip, support, and empower the team through a period of organisational change. You will help the team optimise and make the most of the new organisational strategy, embedding strategic focus, effective decision-making, and collaborative leadership practices across the fundraising leadership group.

You will use your commercial acumen and fundraising expertise to identify opportunities and support the team to recognise, shape, and pursue them confidently and effectively, enabling them to take ownership and drive progress across all income streams. A key part of the role will be ensuring that new commercial and public sector income streams are recognised, understood, and capitalised on across the organisation, working closely with the newly established Head of Business Development to embed this focus and enable them to succeed in driving this work forward.
Working closely with the CEO and Senior Leadership Team (SLT), you will play a crucial role in maintaining momentum, ensuring continuity, and supporting the organisation to deliver the new strategy and business plan, helping to realise opportunities, navigate challenges, and ensure long-term sustainability during this maternity cover period.

You’ll be responsible for:

• Driving income growth: establishing high-performing income pipelines across all income streams, with a strong multi-year focus, supported by robust data, reporting, and pipeline management.
• Integrating and accelerating public sector and commercial income streams: Ensuring newly integrated income areas are understood, valued and operational across the organisation.
• Embedding and executing a unified, co-owned fundraising and development strategy: Partnering with the CEO, SLT and Board to embed strategic focus, ensure integration, and alignment with organisational goals.
• Strengthening leadership, culture and team performance: Providing coaching-based leadership, direction, support and empowerment, helping the team thrive and achieve ambitious income targets across philanthropic, public sector and commercial streams.

THE CHARITY

Suicide is the leading cause of death of men under 35 and three quarters of those who die by suicide are men. James’ Place exists to save the lives of men in suicidal crisis through delivering clinical services. We are a charity currently offering free, life-saving therapy to suicidal men at our centres in Liverpool, London and Newcastle.

James’ Place was set up by Clare Milford Haven and Nick Wentworth-Stanley in 2008 after their twenty-one-year-old son, James, died by suicide ten days after a minor operation. James had no history of mental illness or depression and had sought urgent help for anxiety and suicidal thoughts but didn’t find it.   

James' Place was set up to make the experience of finding help as easy as possible. We offer men who are experiencing a suicidal crisis a brief, intensive, therapeutic intervention in a safe environment. Men who walk through the door at James’ Place will be in a space where they feel valued and respected.  We provide a calm and peaceful environment both inside the centres and in our outside spaces, accessible to men who visit us as well as their friends and families. We have so far treated over 4,300 men who might otherwise have been unable to access the support they desperately need.

In early 2026 we will be opening our fourth centre in Birmingham. Our new centre in Birmingham will be there to support suicidal men living in the West Midlands.

THE OPPORTUNITY

We are recruiting for a team of clinicians to deliver our clinical proven intervention at our new James’ Place centre in Birmingham, due to open in early 2026. As a Senior Suicide Prevention Therapist, you will work alongside the Head of Centre to manage and support the clinical team in delivering our unique intervention and co-producing effective safety plans to maintain their safety. You will be an experienced mental health professional or therapist with demonstrable interest in suicide prevention and team management and leadership. You will support men who are experiencing a suicidal crisis and their supporter(s), delivering our unique intervention and co-producing effective safety plans to maintain their safety. Successful applicants will be joining a new team at a pivotal time and will have the opportunity to shape the local culture at James’ Place Birmingham. Training and support will be provided by the Head of Centre in Birmingham and the wider James’ Place team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Senior Clinical Duties

• Work as a duty therapist to triage and assess suitability of James’ Place referrals daily
• Take full clinical responsibility of the men under James’ Place care, as a co-leader of the clinical team and in consultation with Head of Centre
• Lead and support peer support sessions, caseload discussions and reflective practice with the team
• Create an environment in which confidentiality, privacy and dignity are respected and be clear with clients about limits of confidentiality
• Lead on the creation and facilitation of a Peer Support Group once James’ Place Birmingham is well-established
• Deputise for the Head of Centre when required

Clinical

• Conduct initial Welcome Assessments with men in a suicidal crisis, assessing risk and the suitability of the James’ Place intervention and co-producing effective safety plans
• Deliver our therapeutic intervention, building trust and exploring the reasons for crisis
• Use the Lay Your Cards on the Table intervention to encourage men to talk about and explore their feelings, attitudes and behaviours and develop positive coping strategies
• Escalate care to appropriate services when necessary, including emergency services and secondary mental health teams
• Deliver one-off guidance sessions to supporters of men under the James’ Place care
• Work collaboratively with other professionals to coordinate comprehensive care
• Undergo clinical supervision with a qualified supervisor to reflect on clinical work and raise any issues or concerns arising from work
• Remain up to date with developments in law, theories and research
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards
• Complete session notes in a timely and effective manner
• Participate in continuous professional development and engage in training provided both internally and externally
• Support the Clinical Administration team as and when necessary

Leadership and Management

• Manage, support and lead Suicide Prevention Therapists, encouraging staff to develop and grow
• Conduct regular probation reviews, monthly 1:1s and annual appraisals with staff
• Conduct therapist case reviews to ensure work is completed safely, effectively and in accordance with James’ Place policies and procedures
• Confidently identify and sensitively communicate areas for development and conduct performance management reviews when necessary
• Demonstrate and promote self-awareness and regularly dedicate time and space, inside and outside of work, to keeping yourself and the team well
• Provide support to access training and other developmental activities
• Support staff wellbeing

Outreach and Engagement

• Work alongside the Head of Centre to actively increase contact with local community organisations able to refer to us or offer move on support for men completing our intervention
• Support the fundraising team to bring potential supporters into our building and showcase our work, including the facilitation of events

PERSON SPECIFICATION

The role requires someone with a relevant qualification who can confidently lead a team and support men experiencing a suicidal crisis. You will need to be able to effectively conduct risk assessments and deliver our clinically proven therapeutic intervention to ensure client safety. Strong therapeutic communication, the ability to work autonomously and teamwork skills are also essential to this role, as well as the ability to build trust and hope.

•  A Core Profession such as Mental Health Nurse, Occupational Therapist or Social Worker, counselling or practitioner psychologist registered with NMC, HCPC, or Social Work England

• Accreditation as a psychological therapist, psychotherapist, or counsellor registered with BACP, UKCP, BABCP or equivalent, or have completed training and awaiting accreditation

Our members are looking for an enthusiastic indovidual to join our Network Hope Activities team as staff cover for 9 months.

You will work under the direction of the Project Manager and alongside, tutors to deliver activities, support networks, health and wellbeing and training support to beneficiaries and to recruit, train and support a network of volunteers to facilitate the support groups. 

The role will involve collaboration with other local businesses and third sector organisations to deliver the activities. This Project’s aim is to support vulnerable disabled people (including those with learning disabilities, autism and those affected by mental health issues and their families) through consistent provision of health and wellbeing activities, pathways into employment training, sport and social activities, advice, signposting and peer support based both at our Resource Centre in W10 and out in the community.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES  
 
1. Supporting Tutors, volunteers, senior staff and beneficiaries 
 
Utilising EPM’s resources to lead in locally sourcing beneficiaries and volunteers from the local community. Liaise with the NHS and Social Services, partner providers and schools, colleges, community centres, voluntary organisations and referral agencies. 

· Facilitate and support local support groups, 

· Plan, arrange and run a variety of activities and training programmes. 

· Recruit and support a network of volunteers to co-facilitate support groups and activities 

· Under the direction of The Project Manager conduct home visits to assess the needs of the families and inform them of support available through Network Hope. 

· Arrange the selection and delivery of healthy food and drinks and running the catering and gardening training groups. 

· Work with sports and fitness tutors to ensure all equipment used in sports/fitness sessions are secure and meet health and safety standards. 

· Coordinate and oversee respite and peer group support to the families. 

· Develop, monitor, update and review individual action plans for all beneficiaries. 

· Conduct evaluation reports (including case studies) and work with senior management to collate the information. 

· Assist senior management in leading  advisory group meetings and lead/facilitate local support group meetings.

Keychange is a Christian charity with over 100 years of experience supporting people facing vulnerability. Today, we provide specialist housing for women and young people experiencing homelessness, alongside residential care for older people across the South and Southwest of England.

We are seeking a dedicated Deputy Manager to join our specialist women’s homelessness service, Wayside Community in Reigate. This community is a 19 bed, 24-7 supported housing for women experiencing homelessness. About the Role
The Deputy Manager plays a key role in the leadership of Wayside Community, supporting the Women’s Homelessness Lead in the day-to-day running and development of the service.

Key responsibilities include:

• Assisting the Women’s Homelessness Lead in Surrey in ensuring the smooth daily running of the Service at all times and deputising in her absence for all matters relating to the management of the Service.
• Ensure that Wayside Community complies with all statutory regulations relating to supported housing, health and safety, fire precautions etc.
• Working with the Women’s Homelessness Lead to develop performance targets and quality control measures for the benefit of the team, and monitoring team members’ work to ensure that these are met.
• In conjunction with the Women’s Homelessness Lead ensure that effective assessments and action plans are updated for all residents through a key worker system and on case files.
• In conjunction with the Women’s Homelessness Lead ensure that all safeguarding concerns, incidents and complaints are managed robustly.

About the role:

We’re building a Transport Solutions Team that works flexibly across all the tools in our delivery kit – from grants and innovation pilots to research, partnerships, and commercial interventions. Our growing portfolio includes flagship projects tackling challenges such as inclusive EV charging infrastructure, complex community transport needs, and large-scale research like the National Centre for Accessible Transport.

We are now recruiting for three Transport Solutions Managers, one permanent position and two 24 month fixed-term contracts. These roles will lead the design and delivery of high-impact work focused primarily on accessible electric vehicle (EV) charging – a key priority for the Foundation. This is a pivotal role that combines technical understanding, programme delivery, and stakeholder leadership, and is designed to work flexibly across our matrix structure.

While your core focus will be on EV charging, you also may be expected to lead and/or contribute to other transport projects across the transport themes.

This is an opportunity to join a collaborative, purpose-led team driving change in the transport system for disabled people, and to work on some of the most complex and impactful projects in the sector.

What you will be doing:

• Lead the design and delivery of accessible EV charging initiatives, working closely with Programme Directors and partners across government, industry and the charity sector.
• Scope, commission and manage projects related to EV charging – such as pilots, commercial partnerships, research studies or funding opportunities – ensuring alignment to strategic priorities.
• Bring technical and market understanding of EV charging (e.g. standards, installation, interoperability, user experience, accessibility requirements) to shape the Foundation’s approach in this space.
• Manage end-to-end delivery of specific initiatives, including planning, budgeting, due diligence, contracting, risk management, and governance reporting.
• Use insight, evidence and stakeholder engagement to shape new programmes of work and ensure delivery reflects the needs of disabled people.

Must haves:

• Experience managing complex projects, ideally in EV charging, transport, or energy sectors.

• Experience managing projects or funding opportunities from inception through to delivery, ideally across multiple partners or suppliers.

You’ll be an energetic person who thrives on making new connections and can inspire others to take action. As an experienced facilitator you will be confident facilitating groups and at ease with designing and adapting formal and informal training sessions appropriate to the context.

Your experience MUST include facilitating groups who don’t already hold a common and agreed set of values. So while academic or activist settings may form a significant part of your experience, it is essential to have worked in a mixed community or neighbourhood setting, where you regularly encountered and brought together a range of contrasting viewpoints, which included views substantially different to your own.

A knowledge of community organising methodology (see for example Act Build Change or Citizen’s UK) is useful, but there may also be other approaches or experiences that you could draw on for this role. You will be curious and keen to learn about the history of community organising and community development at Pembroke House, and keen to build on and contribute to the development of that work.

We were founded in 1885, by students from Pembroke College, Cambridge, as one of the first settlement houses. Concerned about growing poverty and inequality, the pioneers of the settlement movement sought a new approach: taking up residence to live, work and solve problems alongside local communities.

Together Women is an award-winning charity that supports women and girls across Yorkshire and Humberside, with particular focus on women who are involved in or at risk of entering the criminal justice system. Role Summary

This is an exciting role for someone with a passion for leading data-driven, insight-led service design and delivery, and for a person who loves to champion best practice in data management and governance. In this role you will contribute to improving the experiences and outcomes of the women who access our Women’s Centres and Services, and by listening to and learning from women, you will utilise insight to drive organisational and systemic change.

You will lead on the strategic use of data and insights, embedding best practice in data collection methods and gender-specific assessment tools, with a focus on the Women’s Risk Needs Assessment (WRNA) and the Gendered Wellbeing Assessment (GWA). You will deliver robust and meaningful operational and strategic reporting; regular and accessible management information to support effective service delivery; regular performance monitoring and reporting to commissioners and funders; and further develop the ways we demonstrate our impact and share stories of change.

You will lead operational delivery of our data systems, to ensure robust data governance, compliance and ongoing technical implementation and optimisation. This role is critical to embedding a culture of data-driven decision making, using insight to support high quality service delivery, and to drive long term systemic change through key research projects. You will work closely with our WRNA Project Manager and the wider Management team to embed learnings from the Effective Women’s Centres Partnership and support our ongoing contribution to University of Birmingham long term research into women’s experience of the criminal justice system, helping to shape the development of evidence-based policy and best practice across the Women’s sector in the UK.

You will work closely and line manage the Data and Impact Analyst to ensure robust training programmes are in place, to support our staff teams to effectively and efficiently utilise our data tools and systems, and to embed data management best practice. You will also work together to embed our involvement and lived experience strategy, ensuring women’s voices and insight are at the heart of our service delivery models.

The role will also provide leadership on data protection and organisational Data Protection Officer (DPO) responsibilities, and will work closely with our Information Governance Lead.

Key accountabilities

Data Systems Oversight and Leadership:

• Work with EWC partners, The JABBS Foundation and University of Birmingham to support the final design phases of a specialist, bespoke case management system (CMS), to ensure it meets the needs of Together Women, and our sister organisations within the Effective Women’s Centres Partnership.
• Roll out the implementation and adoption of the new CMS, to include data migration, staff training programmes, and new reporting suites and dashboards.
• Provide strategic CMS oversight to ensure the system continues to meet organisational needs and lead planning for CMS development projects including upgrades, integrations and enhancements.
• Monitor and assess future CMS system needs, scoping and identifying development areas.
• Contribute to budget planning, including CMS ongoing costs and development projects, and ensuring activities are delivered within agreed resources.
• Work closely with Senior Management and wider Management team on future projects relating to updates or changes to the CMS system.

Data Leadership and Governance:

• Develop a Data and Impact Strategy to align with organisational priorities.
• Lead on data governance and UK GDPR compliance, including data governance policies, DPIAs, information sharing agreements, SARs, and ongoing breach and information security risk management.
• Support the implementation and ongoing review of data policies, ROPA documentation, data security protocols, and internal staff training.
• Provide assurance to the Senior Management team on data compliance, reporting risks and mitigating actions.
• Ensure staff understand their data responsibilities, build data capability and a strong data protection culture through training, guidance and fostering data confidence and accountability.

Insights, Analysis and Performance:

• Lead the provision of insights, analysis, and performance reporting, and embed a culture of insight-led decision making across the charity.
• Support the ongoing development of our involvement and lived experience insight workstream, and further establish our ability to co-design and co-produce our service offer.
• Evidence our impact and performance within contractual monitoring reports, and contribute to future funding bids and tenders to secure commissioning arrangements.
• Produce clear, interpretable reports for internal and external stakeholders, as required.
• Produce clear management information and performance reports on both outputs and outcomes, and enable Managers to articulate stories of change, drive continuous improvement and demonstrate the quality of our work.
• Develop a performance framework to monitor progress of the implementation of Together Women’s strategy, and prepare reports to inform Trustees of progress made.
• Support senior leaders with data-driven planning, presenting insights in accessible ways.
• Conduct ongoing data analysis to identify improvement opportunities, risks and issues.

Team Leadership and Collaborative working:

• Line manage the Data and Impact Analyst, providing support, direction, coaching, workload prioritisation and professional development opportunities.
• Take a hands-on role in data processing to support the day-to-day delivery of the data function, ensuring operational resilience. Contribute to the immediate data management requirements as well as leading on the longer-term data strategy.
• Collaborate with colleagues across Together Women to align data activities with organisational objectives and mission.
• Work closely with key external stakeholders and maintain excellent relationships with key partners through collaborative, mutually beneficial working practice.
• Attend regular meetings and networking opportunities relating to the Effective Women’s Centres Project, and associated networks and events.

Quality Assurance and Contribution to research:

• Ensure data collection, management and storage processes are standardised and consistent across all our services.
• Embed the Women’s Risk Needs Assessment and Gendered Wellbeing Assessment as Together Women’s default assessment tools.
• Support Master Trainers to embed WRNA and GWA certifications across all frontline staff teams.
• Work closely with colleagues to develop a new Quality Assurance (QA) audit process and embed this into Together Women’s work.
• Identify and resolve problems that may affect the achievement of research objectives and deadlines, and escalate where necessary.
• Uphold the principles of ethical research, particularly with regard to consent and confidentiality.
• Carry out administrative tasks related directly to the delivery of the research.

We are looking to recruit a Grants and Foundations Officer to join Caritas Salford’s fundraising team. You will be part of a team that is passionate about tackling poverty and inequality, where your work will have a real and visible impact. Your focus will be on maintaining and growing income from charitable trusts and statutory agencies.

As a Grants and Foundations Officer, you will work closely with senior managers and service managers, researching potential funders, securing funding from trusts, foundations and other potential funding partners. As well as building and stewarding lasting relationships that will help sustain and grow Caritas’ mission. We will support your development, helping you grow your fundraising skills, take on complex projects and help shape bids for commissioned services.

You will have excellent interpersonal skills, strong research and analytical expertise, be highly organised and confident in using IT systems and digital tools for research, communication and data management. Additionally, you will have the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with a range of stakeholders, plus a willingness to learn from others about fundraising and social impact.

37.5 hours per week. Monday to Friday with occasional evening and weekends required.
