The Role

We’re looking for an exceptional Head of IT Operations & Governance to oversee and advance the organisation’s technology infrastructure, governance, and information security.

This is a strategic and hands-on leadership position, ensuring the foundation’s systems are secure, efficient, and scalable to support its expanding global mission. You’ll manage outsourced providers, optimise cloud and Microsoft 365 systems, and ensure the organisation maintains exemplary standards in cybersecurity, compliance, and data protection.

Confidentiality, integrity, and discretion are paramount. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the pressures surrounding technology management in a global, fast-moving, and high-stakes environment balancing operational delivery with the need for strategic foresight and resilience.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development and implementation of a secure, scalable IT environment aligned with organisational goals.
• Oversee the governance, risk, and compliance framework, embedding data protection and cybersecurity best practices.
• Drive strategic initiatives including Microsoft 365 and SharePoint adoption, digital process improvement, and infrastructure modernisation.
• Manage third-party service providers and ensure high-quality, responsive IT support.
• Establish strong monitoring, reporting, and audit mechanisms to maintain readiness and accountability.
• Foster digital confidence across teams through user training, guidance, and knowledge-sharing.

About You

You are a trusted, discreet, and strategic technology professional with a track record of delivering secure, high-performing IT operations in complex organisations. You bring strong governance, risk management, and stakeholder engagement skills, combined with the ability to lead confidently in sensitive and global contexts.

Essential skills and experience:

• Senior-level experience in IT operations, governance, or systems management.
• Deep expertise in Microsoft 365 and SharePoint environments.
• Proven track record in cybersecurity, data protection, and compliance frameworks.
• Experience managing outsourced service providers and large-scale technology projects.
• Strong strategic and analytical skills, with sound judgment and discretion.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management across international teams.

Desirable:

• Senior experience in the not-for-profit or philanthropic sector.
• Experience in a global organisation, understanding diverse operational contexts and technology pressures worldwide.

Working Arrangements

• This is a hybrid position, requiring at least 2 days per week onsite at either the Central London or Amsterdam office.
• The post is full-time and permanent; however, a 4-day working week will be considered. 
• Salary Range: £80,000 - £100,000 per annum

Legal Counsel

About the team

The role sits within the Legal and Compliance Team as part of the Finance and IT Directorate.  We are looking for a UK qualified lawyer who is who is looking to start working or build experience in the NGO sector and work in a broad, challenging and interesting role as part of a dynamic team.

About the role

As our Legal Counsel you will report to the Head of Legal and support them in providing legal and compliance support to all departments across WaterAid in the UK and work closely with them to provide support on commercial and partnership contracts as well as general legal advice to support WaterAid’s work to drive sustainable change.

In this role, you will:

• Be a point of contact for all legal queries across WaterAid. This includes responding to enquiries from colleagues and proactively identifying legal issues along with any broader organisational risks to ensure appropriate legal advice and provided;
• review and negotiate contracts between WaterAid UK and third parties, in particular commercial contracts, contract for services including consultancy contracts and partnership agreements;
• assist with the drafting, and updating of contract templates;
• contribute to the development of policies and training for colleagues to drive best practice in contract management and value for money
• responding to risk by ensuring contracts are negotiated effectively;
• promoting compliance with legal requirements, including keeping up-to -date with relevant regulatory changes;
• Champion WaterAid’s commitment to equity, inclusion and safeguarding.

To be successful, you will need:

• To be a qualified solicitor (English/UK law) 2+ years PQE, with experience of commercial and contract law.
• Excellent drafting skills, with broad experience of drafting a variety of contracts and other legal documents;
• Experience in identifying legal risks and providing pragmatic and balanced solutions, manage expectations; maintain confidentiality at all times and display high ethical standards;
• Ability to build credibility and effective relationships across the organisation and ability to communicate effectively across different cultures and business needs
• Excellent written communication skills, able to convey information clearly and accurately;
• Proactive approach and demonstrable experience of prioritising, delivering and supporting a variety of projects to deadlines and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-moving environment;
• Good IT skills, effective user of online resources and IT and communication technologies, particularly Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Sharepoint, Teams and Zoom;
• Highly organised and methodical with excellent attention to detail.
• Able to work efficiently with minimal supervision and prioritise own workload effectively whilst being able to work as part of a team.
• Good understanding of the context in which WaterAid works and a commitment to the aims and values of WaterAid.

Although not essential, we’d prefer you to have:

• In–house experience an advantage, particularly in the charity sector;
• Awareness of relevant Charity and Company law and knowledge of best practice.
• Knowledge of the workings of the Charities Commission and the Fundraising Regulator.
• Experience of Providing high quality service to a diverse range of customers.
• Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure and supportively but assertively hold senior managers to account.

About us

Join our team at the MPS Society, one of the leading rare genetic disease charities in the UK aiming to transform the lives of over 1500 individuals and their families UK-wide who are affected by MPS, Fabry and other related lysosomal diseases.

We are expanding our small, dedicated, Support team who raise awareness, provide information and practical guidance alongside support and advocacy relating to health and social care, housing, education, transition, independent living, palliative care, and bereavement.  This team also contribute to the development of our resources and facilitate project work such as youth engagement, advisory boards, and support groups.

This is an essential car user post. The applicant must hold a current UK driver’s licence, with no more than 6 points, have access to a car and be able and willing to drive UK wide as required.

This role is offered on a hybrid basis with a minimum of 2 days in our Amersham office each week. This is one of two District Property Secretary roles in North West England Methodist District, who will be the first point of contact on all matters relating to property. Using their knowledge of land and buildings, and their use and maintenance, in addition to knowledge of governance in the Methodist church context, the postholders will ensure a coherent and holistic approach to property across the District. 

Key Responsibilities 

Provide advice to churches and circuits on property-related matters

Work with colleagues, including ministers and lay members of the circuits and churches within the District, to maximise utilisation of property and land across the District for mission and income generation, in line with Connexional property strategy

- Support with selling properties

- Collaborate with colleagues on seeking alternative opportunities for mission or income generation

- Provide guidance on potential grant opportunities

Provide support with the instruction of professional advisors and contractors and liaise with surveyors as necessary

Provide advice and support to ensure projects are delivered effectively and in compliance with relevant standards and legislation

Support the management of the consents process

- Advise the consent giving body of the District regarding property projects and the feasibility of District grants

We are a small but growing team of lawyers, communications experts, and campaigners. Our work is global, and we work in partnership with lawyers, civil society, unions, and people impacted by Big Tech.

The role

As Head of Operations, you will lead all operational functions of Foxglove. You will ensure that our finance, HR, legal compliance, fundraising, systems and internal processes enable the organisation to carry out its mission effectively. You’ll work across Foxglove and closely with leadership, as well as with external partners to build a resilient and well-governed organisation, able to manage growth and complexity while staying mission driven. This role manages one member of staff and multiple consultants. 

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Financial Management & Accounting

1.Oversee financial operations: budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, expenditure controls, financial reporting, payroll.

2.Ensure compliance with accounting standards, audit requirements and donor / funder financial reporting obligations.

3.Manage relationships with external accountants, auditors, banks, and financial service providers.

4.Ensure appropriate and best practice financial policies and controls are in place.

Fundraising & Development

3.Support the preparation of funding proposals and reports and ensure accurate and timely reporting to funders.

4.Support relationship management with key donors, foundations and partners.

Operational Systems & Processes

1.Develop and maintain efficient operational processes and systems (e.g. finance, HR, IT, data protection, office management).

2.Ensure proper policies and procedures are in place for procurement, vendor management, travel & expenses, and record-keeping.

Team Leadership & Collaboration

1.Lead the operations team, ensuring clarity of roles, responsibilities, performance and support.

Person specification

Below are the essential and desirable criteria for a successful candidate.

·Qualified accountant (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent), with proven experience in financial oversight and reporting 

·Minimum of 5-7 years of senior operations / finance / business operations experience, including line management 

·Strong experience of budgeting, forecasting, audit & financial compliance 

·Excellent strategic thinking and planning skills, able to bridge between high-level strategy and operational detail 

·Strong risk-management and governance experience; familiarity with compliance, data protection / GDPR, employment law etc. 

·Highly organised and able to manage multiple priorities; excellent time-management skills

The role

Responsibilities include:

· Support the Chair by ensuring Trustees’ skills are mapped and kept up to date to ensure that Trustees are contributing efficiently and meaningfully to delivering Scope’s strategy.

· Coordinate introductions and referrals from Trustees to key partners and potential ambassadors, work with teams to ensure leads are followed up thoughtfully. Maintain a confidential log tracking these important relationships.

Overall purpose

 As the Finance Officer, you will be required to ensure that our income and expenditure records are accurate, complete, free from error and comply with both the relevant accounting standards as well as donor restrictions. This role will play a key part in ensuring that the recording of financial information is compliant and auditable, in both the finance system and CRM.

You will also work alongside the Head of Finance to support the wider organisation in its financial understanding and management. This support will focus on both the fundraising team to empower them to raise as many funds as possible, especially unrestricted funds, and the services team to ensure their financial processes are robust and efficient. Finance responsibilities

• Record all income and expenditure general ledger transactions in the finance system, ensuring correct coding and full supporting documentation is stored in either the finance system or in the CRM.
• Have ownership of both the sales ledger and purchase ledger, ensuring all entries are recorded accurately with the correct VAT treatment while adhering to the relevant controls.
• Ensure all staff and client expenses are captured and recorded accurately, adhere to the relevant expense policy and are paid in a timely manner.
