Exeter-based cancer charity, Force, is well known and much loved for its incredible work supporting people who have had a cancer diagnosis and their families with a range of support. Their longstanding CEO is now retiring and the search has begun to find that special person to lead the charity into the future. About the role
This role is all about developing a welcoming and supportive support group community for kinship carers wherever they live. Building belonging, resilience and empowerment for support group leaders and kinship carers.
Funded by the Department for Education, our national Peer Support Service is creating a sustainable and life-changing legacy for kinship carers across England.
This is a game-changing service for kinship carers and builds on Kinship’s 10 years’ experience of developing peer support groups, and two years delivering a national service which has set up 145 new groups.
As a Peer Support Officer, you’ll make sure we deliver an exceptional and consistent peer support service for kinship carers.
You’ll set-up and develop new in-person groups in areas of high need, as well as supporting existing groups to thrive, developing a resilient and powerful peer support community.
Purpose of the role
Taking responsibility for the North West of England, you will reach out and work directly in local communities to develop sustainable kinship peer support groups.
You’ll need to think strategically – mapping areas and utilising resources to be effective and efficient in managing your time and building local connections.
Using community engagement techniques like coffee mornings, community events and linking with our training and support service, you’ll build local connections and relationships.
As you develop a group and recruit support group leaders, you’ll provide standardised training and help the group to navigate forming and storming – providing reassurance and support to empower the group.
Once the group is stable, you’ll transition the support group leader/s over to the ‘Hub’ team to build confidence and knowledge to run their group independently. You’ll also support online groups and special interest groups to transition to independence.
You’ll ensure targets are met and that kinship carers receive a good experience.
Key responsibilities include:

In person (face-to-face) strategic outreach into local and regional communities including setting up and attending local engagement events.

Set up and develop at least six new sustainable in person peer support groups annually, attending up to six sessions in person (if needed) before transition to self-sufficiency.

Recruit and retain support group leaders to develop their peer support groups.

Deliver standardised training to support group leaders (group roles and responsibilities, safeguarding, setting up, running and promoting a group).
Essential requirements include:

Proven experience in reaching and establishing strong relationships with hidden or underserved communities in person.

Proven experience of recruiting, managing, training and supporting volunteers in community settings with an emphasis on understanding and working with vulnerable volunteers.

The role
You’ll bring energy and enthusiasm to the team, ensuring financial functions are carried out efficiently, effectively, accurately and in a timely way to enable us to focus on achieving our charitable mission.
The focus of the role will be on managing and improving financial processes, ensuring that the Senior Leadership Team have up-to-date and accurate records for reporting to the Board, supporting the programmes and philanthropy teams with accurate fund reports and preparing the accounts for audit each year. You will work closely with the whole team of staff and volunteers, but you will work most closely with the Operations Director and the Finance Manager.

Key Areas of Responsibility
1. Treasury and Investment Management
· Monitor endowment investments and provide calculations and support in relation to total return
· Prepare quarterly investment management report
· Treasury management to maximise our investment returns
2. Bookkeeping and Management Accounts
· Work with the Finance Manager to ensure donations are properly recorded on our CRM and in Sage
· Work with the Finance Manager to reconcile bank accounts monthly
· Preparing monthly management reports, noting significant variances with forecasts
· Monitor outstanding debtors, and with line manager approval, chase overdue debtors
· Prepare fund balances when required by the programmes team to support grant-making
· Presentation of management accounts to board and engagement with board members as required
3. Annual Accounts
· Prepare statutory accounts, working with the Operations Director and CEO to ensure income and costs are allocated accurately across SORP categories
· Participate in the Audit process, engaging with auditors and prepare information for audit and liaise with auditors in the conduct of the annual audit process
· Prepare annual fundholder statements
· Support the Senior Leadership Team in the preparation of the annual budget and cash flow forecast
4. Other Work Required

Person Specification - Skills, Knowledge and Experience
Required
· Ideally at least five years’ experience in a similar role
· Minimum of AAT Level 4, preferably ACA/ACCA or equivalent

Age UK Camden is a local, independent and innovative charity which has provided services to older people in Camden for more than 50 years through diverse and inclusive services. These services are highly valued by the residents of Camden and the voluntary and statutory sectors.
We are looking for a dynamic, experienced Fundraising Manager to work with us in Camden’s largest charity working with older people.
This will be an exciting opportunity to diversify your skills in order to manage a portfolio of work that ranges from Fundraising, Income Generation in areas such as our Charity Retail Shop, our Marketing and Communications and our Community and Corporate Engagement, You will line manage a dedicated and skilled team who work to deliver in all of these areas. You will also work closely with the CEO and the external bid writer who focuses on funding from Trusts and Grants.
The successful candidate will be experienced in a range of fundraising channels as well as having excellent communication skills in order to develop and maintain relationships with a wide range of audiences as well as internally with your team and the wider staff group.

The Willats Trust gives grants to Christian workers to share the Good News of Jesus in some of the poorest and most marginalised communities in the UK and Ireland.
As a young man in the nineteenth century, William Willats, observed that the poorest people in the city of Bath, where he lived, didn’t go to church simply because they didn’t have suitable clothes to wear to a religious place of worship. As a Christian he felt the injustice of this and set about taking the ‘church’ to the people. He set up a ‘Spiritual Guide’ programme where workers would visit the poorest in society to read them the Bible, pray with them and help them understand God’s word.
During this time, Mr Willats acquired a considerable number of properties across the Bath area.
The Trust currently owns and manages a property portfolio of in excess of £35m and awards approximately £500,000 a year in grants to support ‘Guides’ who bring the Good News of the Gospel to communities with little or no experience of or interaction with the Christian faith.
We have an ambition to more than double that amount, transform our grant-making to be best-in-class and forge dynamic partnerships that extend the reach of the hope of the Gospel across UK and Ireland.
This role calls for a dynamic Chief Executive, with a Kingdom heart and commitment to evangelism, who brings a breadth of senior leadership experience, commercial skills, and prayerful wisdom in navigating the opportunities and challenges of the season ahead.
We are seeking a Chief Executive who:
- is passionately motivated to use their gifts to facilitate the resourcing of Christian workers to take the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the least reached and hardest to reach communities across the UK and Ireland.

- Bespoke financial management capacity-building support, including compliance with statutory/funder requirements; and support with operational/strategic management and planning resources.

- Identification and management, budgeting, statutory/funder compliance training, employer responsibilities training, governance training, budget for funding bids, and annual report.
- Devote significant time to outward-facing activities dedicated to supporting frontline Black and racialised grassroots community groups.

As Senior Corporate Partnerships Manager, you will:
- Manage a diverse portfolio of corporate partners at the six-figure+ level, ensuring effective stewardship to strengthen engagement and drive incremental income

Job Purpose:
Reporting to the Board of Trustees, provide leadership of the charity (which is also a company limited by guarantee) by directing and structuring the work of the wider staff and volunteer team. Manage a broad range of business needs and resources, including income generation, finances, staffing and contract/grant funding compliance, thereby ensuring sustainability through effective governance, sound finances and delivery of high-quality services in accordance with DWC’s vision, mission, values and strategic plans.
Principal Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership and Overall Management
· Together with the Trustees/Directors, develop and agree the strategic plan, operational plan, vision, mission and values.
· Lead the organisation and ensure it meets its legal and social obligations and the challenges of financial sustainability.
· Ensure compliance with regulatory bodies, including the Charity Commission, Companies House, and Health and Safety Executive, as well as with quality standards and with contract/grant monitoring requirements.
· Identify and implement new business opportunities in line with the charitable aims outlined in the Articles of Association.
Governance
· Work with the Board to ensure effective governance is provided through Trustees/Directors with an understanding of DWC’s purpose and a mixture of relevant skills, knowledge and experience.
· Ensure the Trustees have sufficient resources, guidance and professional advice.
· Ensure the preparation of meeting agendas, supporting papers and minutes, and that agreed actions are progressed.
· Oversee arrangements for the Annual General Meeting, including the production of the annual trustees report and accounts.
Staff and Volunteer Management
· Manage, motivate and lead the staff and volunteer team.
· Line manage service managers/lead personnel, ensuring they are well supported and that agreed objectives are achieved.
· Act as the primary contact in respect of HR matters, managing recruitment and exit arrangements, and liaise with employment law and payroll providers as necessary to ensure DWC fulfils its statutory responsibilities as an employer.
· As a disabled people’s organisation provide opportunities for disabled people to contribute at all levels within the Board and workforce, through volunteering, training and employment.
Finance
· Manage and monitor the overall budget, income and expenditure.
· Authorise expenditure in accordance with the Financial Management policy and delegated powers.
· Ensure services are delivered within available resources, including sufficient income.
· Take a lead role in maximising income, through researching, initiating and developing the preparation of appropriate funding bids and fundraising activities.
Representation and Stakeholder Management
· Represent DWC and the interests of disabled people within local and national networks and forums.
· Develop and maintain positive working relationships with key stakeholders, including commissioners and staff within partner organisations.
· Develop staff and volunteer colleagues to act as ambassadors for DWC.
· Ensure arrangements are in place for awareness of the DWC brand and the impact of the organisation’s work.
