The Design in Mental Health Network (DiMHN) is a UK-based charity dedicated to improving mental health outcomes through better design. We are seeking a strategic and entrepreneurial Head of Partnerships & Programmes to play a central role in our next phase of growth.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING 

Reporting to the Chief Executive, you will: 

• Drive sustainable income through a mix of commercial partnerships, membership growth, and charitable funding
• Develop and lead strategic and commercial partnerships, from opportunity through to delivery

• Grow and engage a diverse membership across commercial and health sector stakeholders

We are looking for a strategic, relationship-driven leader who can translate opportunity into impact, income, and influence. 

Knowledge and experience 

You will bring: 

• A strong track record of developing and securing income through partnerships, sponsorship, membership, and/or charitable funding
• Experience building and managing commercial or strategic partnerships, including identifying opportunities and maintaining long-term relationships
• Experience designing and delivering programmes involving multiple stakeholders, sectors, and/or geographies
• The ability to develop robust business cases, including assessing opportunities, risks, and resource requirements
• Experience growing and engaging professional networks, memberships, or cross-sector communities
• Confidence working in complex, multi-stakeholder environments

Knowledge of the mental health, healthcare, design, or built environment sectors is welcome, but not essential.

We raise around £1.5m a year against operating costs of around £2.5m.

Fundraising needs to grow — but more importantly, it needs to work better.

This role exists to:

• grow sustainable, controllable income
• improve return on investment (ROI)

The role (what you’ll actually do)

As Head of Fundraising & Communications, you will:

• Sit on the Senior Management Team and report to the CEO
• Lead all fundraising and marketing comms activity
• Take responsibility for income and cost-effectiveness
• Shape strategy, set priorities and make evidence-based decisions
• Personally steward a small number of key major donors and partners

You’ll lead a talented team covering:

· Individual Giving

· Major Donors & Philanthropy

· Corporate Partnerships

· Trusts & Grants

· Digital Content

• Data, CRM & Compliance

You’ll also work closely with our Heads of Equine Welfare and Discovery to fundraise for our work with vulnerable horses & children.

We are looking for a hands-on leader who can bring significant income-generating expertise to a new challenge. You’ll sit lead our Outreach team, be a collaborative 'do-er' who leads inclusively, is passionate about our mission and wants to add value to our small team from day one. We want to work with someone who is excited by our growth journey and can be flexible and dynamic as we scale. We are launching our Senior Leadership Team this summer, which includes a Director of Income to take ownership of our income generation, drive forward our social value offer and lead our Outreach team effectively and kindly. 

Purpose of the Role

The Director of Income role is responsible for leading our income generation. Our fundraising strategy is to significantly grow and further diversify our income, with a particular focus on corporate and trading income. The postholder will coordinate our fundraising activity, lead our Outreach team and work closely with the CEO to drive forward our income generation so we can safely deliver our ambitious strategy over the next 5 years. 

In particular, the postholder will be responsible for coordinating and developing our income function, converting our strategic fundraising objectives into operational plans, managing the Head of Outreach and representing the organisation externally. However, the role is not solely governance and leadership - we need a do-er who is comfortable working in a small team and sharing responsibilities, including submitting fundraising proposals and taking responsibility for our reporting. They will work closely with the CEO, Director of Programmes, Head of Outreach and Communications and Fundraising Coordinator to ensure we are communicating our value proposition coherently and effectively to the important stakeholders that make our work possible.

We do not see this as a traditional fundraising director role - we are looking for a skilled generalist who can meet us where we are at by working confidently across Trusts and Foundations, statutory grants, corporate partnerships and traded services simultaneously. We are a small charity with 10 staff, so while we are looking for a decision-making and accountable leader, the postholder will be expected to support colleagues across the organisation. They will have a collaborateive spirit and the emotional intelligence to thrive in a small team. 

The postholder will lead the Outreach team (CEO, Head of Outreach, and Fundraising and Communications Coordinator), ensuring we work efficiently and together. They will also model our values, actively promote our commitment to refugee leadership, and bring stability and leadership at a crucial time for our organisation's development. Senior Public Affairs and Policy Manager

Purpose and scope

Are you looking for a policy role where you can make a difference? Our client is looking for a Senior Public Affairs and Policy Manager to grow their influence with government and in UK parliament to ensure the voice of physicians effectively influences the national policy agenda.

You’ll be part of the policy and campaigns team, responsible for ensuring they maintain its position as a credible, influential stakeholder in the eyes of government, NHS systems and their physician members.  

You’ll join the organisation just as it publishes a new strategy and decides new areas of policy focus. You’ll play a critical role in developing and delivering the public affairs strategy to ensure that the organisation is an effective advocate for its members.

You will lead and manage our public affairs work, designing and delivering influencing strategies and contributing your expertise to policy development and campaign planning for a range of policy issues. You’ll maintain a proactive awareness of issues within the UK health sector, politics and the media and identify opportunities for influencing and policy development. You will have demonstrable experience of developing and delivering successful influencing strategies, using a range of parliamentary influencing tactics to achieve policy change.

You will lead and manage the organisation’s stakeholder engagement. You will ensure we have the right relationships at the right level to achieve our influencing aims and maintain a network of contacts across the sector, in parliament, including political advisers, and the civil service.

You will be as comfortable speaking to parliamentarians and briefing senior leaders for meetings as you are writing consultation responses and policy briefings. You will be able to engage with the policy detail, while appreciating the bigger political picture and the organisation's place in it.

You’ll need a sharp eye for detail and be able to quickly and accurately interpret and communicate complex information. You will provide the president, senior officers and senior staff with public affairs advice, brief them for meetings and play an active role in engaging external stakeholders in NHS systems and the wider sector yourself.

The policy and campaigns team – which is part of the wider communications, policy and research directorate – is a fast paced, collaborative and innovative environment. You will help us shape our objectives and continuously improve how we work.

Responsibilities

Overall job purpose

The post-holder will play a key role within the Initiatives and Partnerships team, working with regional teams to develop and implement proposals to expand use of historic churches in our existing estate and, on occasion, working with other heritage and community groups to deliver their own projects via consultancy or partnership work.

They will manage a programme of work that will include a number of site-specific projects and national initiatives across multiple sites, as well as from time to time working with third parties on partnership or consultancy projects.

The Partnerships Officer will support regional teams and communities to scope and develop projects, supporting feasibility, options and project development work as well as business planning, project management and funding. The post-holder will also work closely with colleagues in conservation and regional teams to make sure that impacts on both areas are fully considered, whilst in tandem seeking to maximise opportunities to expand and increase commercial activity, income and ultimately profitability.

We’re looking for a Volunteer Experience Manager to support our incredible volunteers and their pets, who bring joy and comfort to people across hospitals, care homes, schools and communities nationwide.

What you’ll do

Reporting to the Chief Executive, you’ll:

• Lead and develop our Volunteer Experience Team, who provide day-to-day phone and email support to our 6,000 volunteers, ensuring volunteers receive outstanding support from first enquiry to retirement
• Support our network of around 80 Volunteer Area Coordinators, helping them support local PAT volunteers 
• Deliver our Volunteer Engagement Strategy, making volunteering with PAT easy, rewarding and well‑supported

Olly’s Future is a charity born from lived experience, working to prevent young people losing their lives to suicide. Role Summary

The Exclusive Opportunities Senior Officer will be responsible for ensuring that upReach’s Exclusive Opportunities (internships and short-term work experience) programmes operate smoothly and effectively, and will report to the Exclusive Opportunities Manager. You will work alongside Programme Coordinators, Partnership Managers and Programme Managers to ensure the successful implementation of exclusive work experience and internship opportunities, which provide upReach Associates with the experiences, networks, commercial awareness and skills needed to secure top roles upon graduating.

Core Responsibilities

The Core responsibilities include:

SUPPORTING THE SMOOTH RUNNING OF EXCLUSIVE OPPORTUNITIES PROGRAMMES:

• Lead the logistical and operational planning and delivery of Exclusive Opportunities, ensuring successful implementation and high-quality support for programme participants and partners.

• Develop engaging promotion of new opportunities to Associates to increase the number and diversity of applicants.

• Manage the application and allocation processes for programmes, working with members of the Programmes Team and partner contacts to ensure smooth processes are in place throughout.

• Monitor, evaluate and report on the effectiveness of the programmes, and identify/make improvements based on this.

• Act as the primary point of contact for day-to-day partnership requests, and students accessing Exclusive Opportunities, and take action to respond to any issues raised.

SUPPORTING PARTNERSHIPS AND PROGRAMMES TEAMS:

• Ensure the wider Programmes Team is kept informed of the internship and work experience programme content and timelines, and enabled to best support Associates taking part.

• Collaborate with the Sector Programme Managers to design application assessment materials (where required) and applicant support resources for Programme Coordinators, and run their own Exclusive Opportunities.

• Work with the Programmes team to encourage Associates to apply for and participate in the Exclusive Opportunities programmes.

EXCLUSIVES OPPORTUNITIES PARTNERSHIPS MANAGEMENT:

• Take ownership of a small portfolio of upReach's existing exclusive opportunities partnerships, managing day-to-day relationships with support and guidance from the Exclusives Programmes and Partnerships Manager.

• Support the Exclusives PM in managing their broader portfolio, including relationship stewardship, partner communications, and coordination of activity.

• Collaborate with Partnerships Managers to review and renew employer partners collaborating with upReach on work experience and internship programmes.

• Assist the Exclusives Programmes and Partnerships Manager in high-quality prospecting and relationship-building activity, contributing to income-generating partnerships that also deliver high-impact opportunities for Associates.

• Collaborate closely with the Exclusives Programmes and Partnerships Manager and the Marketing & Communications team to co-create high-quality content and campaigns that showcase our partnerships - including case studies and social media promotion.

• Contribute to impact reporting for the partnership portfolio by gathering data and stories that demonstrate partnership outcomes and drive continued engagement.

To be successful, it is anticipated that you would have experience in:

• Communicating with a variety of stakeholders, through written and verbal communication

• Managing and prioritising a varied workload

• Some project management experience would be beneficial.
