We are looking for a Corporate Performance and Reporting Manager in our Clerk of the Parliament’s Office at the House of Lords. This is an exciting opportunity to use your strong analytical skills and flair for communicating and engaging a range of stakeholders, to drive progress against our strategic objectives and report on our performance.

This is a hybrid working opportunity where you will work on-site at Parliament 3 days per week, with 2 days per week working remotely. You’ll be accountable for –

• Acting as operational lead for the Administration’s approach to corporate performance management, including the implementing and reviewing of the House’s performance management framework.
• Building partnerships with Heads of Office, service leads and others across the House to embed, co-ordinate and continuously improve performance metrics and baseline performance.
• Providing a leading voice in the co-production of the quarterly performance report to the Management Board and Finance Committee.
• Embedding performance measuring and reporting approaches that meet the best functional standards, using a range of management data to provide accessible and actionable insights.
• Working with other colleagues across Parliament to help to ensure that other performance monitoring processes allow for comparison.
• Working with Parliamentary Digital Service, and the House of Commons to develop common practices for Corporate Performance Management across Parliament.

• Corporate Performance Management knowledge including relevant experience of corporate performance management and corporate governance processes.

• Personal effectiveness with excellent organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage your own time and deal effectively with conflicting demands.

What we need from you

• The post-holder will be someone who thrives in relationship management and successfully securing new partnerships.
• The successful candidate will have significant B2B new business experience and a proven track record of securing complex corporate partnerships with strategic communications packages and financial values of £1m+.

• Experience in securing high-value, multi-dimensional partnerships in the private or third sector.

Overall purpose

The Head of Corporate Partnerships is a key leadership role within the Income and Engagement Directorate. Breaking Barriers’ relationship with corporate partners is the USP upon which our growth and success as an organisation has been built. The Head of Corporate Partnerships has accountability for generating income, impact and influence from the private sector, and for leading a high-performing team to achieve ambitious growth and scale for refugees around the UK.

As Breaking Barriers has grown from a start-up organisation to a now 60-strong team raising c. £4m and supporting more than 1,200 refugees annually, our corporate partnerships have expanded beyond our original London base to be nationwide partnerships with a wide range of businesses and employers. Our corporate partners have been crucial in enabling our growth and will be crucial to delivering upon the ambition of our 2030 goals. The Head of Corporate Partnerships is an essential role that will make this ambition a reality.

You will lead a team to deliver outstanding partnerships management of a range of strategic and multi-faceted relationships with a portfolio of c.50 businesses alongside leading strategy for business development. Leading by example you will own a number of our key relationships to drive growth, whilst bringing your experience to bear to coach your team and ensure structures and processes are in place to enable high performance.

You will be:

• a creative and strategic thinker who doesn’t feel bound by traditional approaches to charity / corporate relationships,
• a keen collaborator, working closely with colleagues in our Services directorate to deliver high impact employability programmes for our refugee clients, and with the Head of Philanthropy and Head of Public Engagement to identify and drive cross-fundraising opportunities,

The Head of Corporate Partnerships will be part of Breaking Barriers’ Joint Leadership Team and will have overall strategic and budget responsibility for Corporate Partnerships. They will be a visible leader within the Income and Engagement Directorate and across the organisation, and will contribute to a culture of creativity, growth, innovation and entrepreneurialism that will drive us to achieve our 2030 goals.

 This is a new role at the DEC and developed as a key part of the DEC’s 2024-2029 strategy. The DEC has a wide range of established relationships with trusts and foundations, many of which give 6- and 7-figure sums to DEC appeals. The Trusts & Foundations Manager will be responsible for providing excellent stewardship to our portfolio of trusts and foundations. In addition, the role will also be responsible for cultivating new relationships for the DEC through thorough research, and through the prospect development cycle, to raise money for DEC appeals. In addition to appeal fundraising, the Trusts & Foundations Manager will be responsible for delivering on a new core cost fundraising strategy, in close partnership with the Head of Philanthropy & Partnerships.

Demonstrable, transferable trusts and foundations experience and knowledge, (preferably within the humanitarian & charity sector), will hold you in good stead for this exciting new role.

Key responsibilities include:

Strategic Development: Develop and manage the trusts and foundations portfolio and create compelling proposals for future appeals and core costs income. Showcase new ideas and innovative approaches for growing and developing a pipeline of new prospects. Develop engaging stewardship plans.  

Administrative Compliance: Lead and manage, robust and professional grant management, ensuring systems and processes are fit for purpose, streamlined and accessible. The Development Manager will co-ordinate fundraising activity at Ushaw with a specific focus on developing funding from public funding bodies such as ACE and NLHF, cultivating strong and long-lasting partnerships with key funding stakeholders and supporting Ushaw’s financial sustainability.

Responsibilities

• Build on relationships with existing funders, preparing and submitting grant applications.
• Manage and lead the identification of, and approaches to, trusts and foundations who have not previously supported Ushaw.
• Engage with key external (including ACE, NLHF, REPF, Historic England) and internal stakeholders to achieve strategic objectives.
• Maintain and grow the existing database of potential funders using Ushaw’s CRM system Donorfy. Conduct prospect research to develop funding pipeline.
• Work with the finance team to support grant/fund management.
• Manage all grant awards appropriately, ensuring reporting deadlines are met and administration is carried out effectively.
• Prepare reports and supporting documents for Trustee meetings.
• Be responsible for tracking grant income and delivering key fundraising KPIs
• Work with senior leadership team colleagues and contribute towards wider organisational strategic goals and KPIs.
• Maintain professionalism and strict discretion and confidentiality.
• Support other aspects of fundraising activity, including Friends of Ushaw & Ushaw partners

About the role:

This role is responsible for developing and expanding the membership offerings of LFBF, including chartered and corporate memberships, while also overseeing bursaries, scholarships, and awards. The position involves cultivating senior-level relationships with key clients, with Profit & Loss responsibilities for charity funds, and contributing to strategic decisions as part of the Senior Leadership team. Additionally, the role-holder will drive the integration of the Centre for the Study in Financial Innovation (CSFI) into our broader strategy, ensuring alignment and successful implementation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Creating and implementing strategies to promote LFBF's chartered and membership, while exploring and building new revenue streams.
• Managing and growing relationships with UK and international banks and financial services providers, seeking sponsorships and partnerships to support our objectives.
• Developing a strategy for integrating CSFI into LFBF, including launching and promoting CSFI events and managing its brand through digital channels.

You will have:

• Worked in a senior business development role, preferably at Director level.
• Proven experience in successfully developing and implementing strategic marketing and business development plans.
• Demonstrated the ability to manage and grow a portfolio of clients, with a focus on building long-term relationships.
• Experience in developing and managing partnerships with educational institutions, professional bodies, and securing sponsorships for events.
• Previous experience managing a profit and loss statement for a business unit or department.
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and effectively manage projects.
