Our Fundraising Team
Battersea’s multiple award-winning Fundraising department raises around 60% of the Charity’s total income. Working with colleagues across the organisation, we provide members of the public and organisations with opportunities to engage with Battersea and to support our work. Through continued investment, net fundraising income has risen from just £100,000 in 2010 to £10m in 2019, and we will continue to grow our income to make sure Battersea can be here for every cat and dog now and in the future.

We explore and cultivate new and existing partnerships with companies to drive income that supports the care of our animals through sponsorship, cause related marketing and aligning strategic objectives.

- Preparation and delivery of monthly management accounts to all budget holders
- Support budget holders with P&L analysis and insight reporting
- Building improves business performance and financial reporting including dashboard and KPIs
- Maintaining and enhancing internal forecasting and reporting model
- Cash-flow and reserves modelling and forecasting
What will you bring to this role?
- ACCA, CIMA, ACA qualified
- Proven commercial experience including excellent modelling and dashboard experience
- Experience with building models, graphs, and dashboards
- Power BI experience would be advantageous.
- Proven experience as an engaging business partner, working in complex organisations
- Commercial mind-set, strong modelling, and analytical skills
- Ability to present financial information in clear and engaging formats for decision making
- FP&A, forecasting, budgeting experience
- Experience or driving continuous improvement in business performance

Purpose of the role
In June 2020, Christian Aid commissioned an independent review on race and diversity amongst our UK workforce. The recommendations from this report have been approved by our Board of Trustees and by our leadership. We have now created a new role to lead on delivering the recommendations from this report along with the improvements suggested by our staff and transforming our vision into a lived reality.
We are therefore looking for a passionate and transformative Race and Diversity professional and leader to help us bring our vision to life and to work with our people, managers and leaders to shape, refine, and implement the right actions from our work plan to realise our commitments and vision.
About you
- A successful track record in senior roles of a similar nature
- A successful track record of developing race and diversity change programmes and successfully delivering through others.
- Experience of designing policy and developing and delivering strategies, to embed a race and diversity agenda into ways of working and organisational processes.
- The ability to listen, demonstrate empathy and gain people's trust at all levels.
- Diplomacy and the ability to influence lead and motivate others within a culturally diverse stakeholder community.
- A strong ability to communicate complex information to a diverse range and level of stakeholders. Ability to analyse, interpret and communicate data in a way that results in organisational change and effective decision making.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proven ability to produce accurate, clear and concise documents that meet the needs of the audience.
- Excellent judgement, responsiveness and ability to provide leadership and support for race and diversity. A credible advisor.

About the role
Our climate-critical tropical forests are being destroyed by big business, agricultural commodities and their links to the financial systems around the world. By focussing on the connection between money, power, corruption, human rights abuses and deforestation, you will help us make the world a better place.
There will be an initial focus on Brazil, the Congo Basin and Papua New Guinea and you'll support the Forests Investigations team in producing impactful exposés to raise awareness globally.
You’ll gather evidence and analysis, identify advocacy targets and provide key input on our flagship investigations. This will ensure our work gets the widest possible audience but most importantly achieves change in business practice and regulations.
About you
You’ll bring solid journalism, campaigning or investigation experience and some knowledge of media law and investigative approaches, along with exceptional potential. You’ll also be a quick learner for innovative and cutting edge investigation techniques.
You’ll bring an interest in developing in a knowledge of deforestation or the financial sector, coupled with the ability to work collaboratively with a diverse range of people and perspectives. Knowledge of finance and investment and/or a foreign language would be a definite advantage.
