Key responsibilities

To manage a portfolio of existing trusts and foundation relationships, monitoring progress while implementing a rolling programme of trust applications

To identify, research and apply for funding to new prospective funders with the aim to achieve new income foster new fundraising relationships and monitor progress.

To manage a trust prospect pipeline, offering clarity on relationships at various stages in the cultivation cycle ensuring each is moved through the relationship management process.

The Rainbow Centre is a vibrant Christian Charity that supports individuals and families who are experiencing deprivation and hardship in the Folkestone and Hythe area.
We operate a range of services including the Homeless Support Service, FoodStop - a mobile soup kitchen, a Winter Shelter for rough sleepers, run the Shepway Foodbank and Family Contact Centre. Role Summary
The Senior Associate will be at the beating heart of a programmatic growth journey that will see an additional 30,000+ more children be able to go to school in the next few years. The role will engage with and support all areas of UWS operations - measuring, analysing and effectively reporting on the impact (direct and long-term) of our programmes as well as being responsible for ensuring that our monitoring and reporting systems are robust and effective. The role will make a significant contribution to the successful operations of the Programmes team and further develop the communication and support channels between Programmes, Partnerships and Fundraising.
A key aspect of the role will be to fully utilise a new programmatic data management system that is being developed for UWS by ‘Beyondme’ (the charitable wing of Deloitte) to support the in-country teams in improving their monitoring, evaluation and reporting. You will also work closely with the Fundraising and Communication teams to enhance our reporting capacity and ensure that the evidence of impact that we gather, (through our monitoring, as well as case studies, focus groups, stories and films) is being conveyed in a compelling and accessible way. Through this, you will play a vital role in supporting a wide range of our stakeholders including major institutional funders, trusts and foundations, as well as our exciting partnerships with corporates and schools across the globe.

The Role
- Leading on budgeting and forecasting activities for the organisation and communicating concise and relevant information to senior stakeholders
- Design, develop and implement policies and procedures around the budgeting process to ensure understanding from stakeholders
- Delivering sound advice to budget holders by supporting and coaching them through the decision-making process
- Assist stakeholders in developing reports to help understand the business needs from a finance perspective
- Work as a key member in the team, reporting to the Head of Finance, delivering critical information to help improve the standards of long-term strategy across the charity
The successful candidate for this position will be:
- A CCAB qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA/CIPFA)
- An experienced financial professional with working knowledge of dealing with large budgets
- A strong communicator, with business partnering experience and the gravitas to approach senior stakeholders and maintain a solid working relationship with them
- Ideally experienced in working for a charitable organisation
- A proactive and approachable individual
- Strong knowledge of excel to produce detailed reports
- Ideally experience of designing insightful reporting
