The Head of Finance oversees the financial health of the organisation, and will work closely with the Chief Executive, wider Senior Management Team, Fundraising team, and budget holders throughout the organisation. You will monitor the organisational budget and ensure regular and accurate reporting against budget lines to the SMT, staff team and trustees. You will be responsible for preparing all necessary financial papers for the Board and will oversee the work of the Finance team, which is made up of the Finance Manager and the Finance Officer, working collaboratively and supporting them in their roles. Overall, you will monitor the financial functions of the organisation to ensure they run effectively and efficiently.

The successful candidate will bring strong experience of having led a finance function previously from within the charity sector. You will have a strong understanding of charity SORP and will bring excellent people management skills in order to support and mentor the finance team. You will also have demonstrable stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to engage with the wider organisation including budget holders and will be adept at translating finance to non-finance staff members.

About the job

We are looking to recruit a Grants and Foundations Officer to join Caritas Salford’s fundraising team. You will be part of a team that is passionate about tackling poverty and inequality, where your work will have a real and visible impact. Your focus will be on maintaining and growing income from charitable trusts and statutory agencies.

As a Grants and Foundations Officer, you will work closely with senior managers and service managers, researching potential funders, securing funding from trusts, foundations and other potential funding partners. As well as building and stewarding lasting relationships that will help sustain and grow Caritas’ mission. We will support your development, helping you grow your fundraising skills, take on complex projects and help shape bids for commissioned services.

You will have excellent interpersonal skills, strong research and analytical expertise, be highly organised and confident in using IT systems and digital tools for research, communication and data management. Additionally, you will have the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with a range of stakeholders, plus a willingness to learn from others about fundraising and social impact.

37.5 hours per week. Monday to Friday with occasional evening and weekends required.

Main Responsibilities 

Strategic Leadership 

• Lead financial planning, budget setting, forecasting, and cashflow management.

• Lead and manage the finance team (2 direct reports) and report directly to the CEO/Trustees

About the role 

This is a senior clinical role at Women and Girls Network (WGN), supporting the delivery and development of our Clinical Services. The postholder will ensure high-quality, survivor-centred, trauma-informed and culturally responsive therapeutic support for women and girls who have experienced violence.

Integrated within WGN’s Safeguarding Hub, the role focuses on supporting survivors with complex and high-risk needs, including those experiencing suicidality and self-injurious behaviour. The postholder will provide high-intensity clinical interventions, contribute to crisis triage and safeguarding, and support safe, integrated pathways of care across the organisation.

Job description 

As the High Intensity Therapist, you will:

• Support the day-to-day delivery and development of WGN’s Clinical Services.
• Provide specialist therapeutic support to survivors at crisis point, including work around suicidality and self-harm.
• Conduct risk assessments and develop survivor-led safety plans.
• Participate in the Safeguarding Hub duty rota, providing triage, crisis response and safeguarding coordination.
• Work closely with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure holistic, trauma-informed pathways of care.
• Provide oversight and consultation on high-risk cases.
• Contribute to safeguarding processes, multi-agency working and MARACs.
• Maintain high standards of clinical governance, documentation and ethical practice.
• Support monitoring, evaluation, service improvement and staff learning.

About SCEC

SCEC was founded over twenty years ago to provide learning enrichment opportunities to primary school children in disadvantaged communities in south London. Together with our partners, several leading independent schools, we currently operate four schemes in math, literacy, science and art. Your Role

The Scheme Director is a newly created role that will be pivotal in helping SCEC extend its reach. Reporting to the Board of Trustees, you will help SCEC design and implement an expansion programme as well as coordinating the delivery of the existing schemes via our school partners. The programme sets high standards of professionalism and expectation alongside holistic support in a trauma-informed environment. It is essential that you are personable, approachable and able to adapt your teaching style to each individual's needs. We are looking for someone who shares our vision of supporting women, and experience working with this demographic is helpful.

Key Job Responsibilities:

Teaching

● Teaching the baking and food hygiene elements of the Luminary training curriculum to a high standard
● Taking responsibility for trainee learning and skill development – in collaboration with the Training Coordinator and Teaching Assistant
● Managing expectations, behaviour and dynamics of the training cohort in a trauma- informed way.
● Maintaining a professional & focused learning environment at all times, with an end goal of employability
● Facilitating community amongst women on the programme, investing in each woman as a whole individual and supporting them to build confidence
● Running interventions for women who are struggling in the group or with the learning
● Tracking & documenting trainee progress in order to evaluate services and support fundraising proposals
● Delegating appropriate jobs to the Teaching Assistant and upskilling them to cover teaching sessions when needed 
● Responsible for facilitating the learning of Level 2 Food Safety and Hygiene course and supporting trainees to complete their online qualification

● Keeping the training kitchen clean to a professional standard and having high
expectations of cleanliness and food hygiene practices from the trainees to prepare
them for a real working environment
● Ensuring a trauma-informed approach to training and championing our trainees at all times.

Programme and Training Management
● Liaising with the second Baking Teacher to coordinate and arrange external masterclass teachers and extra curricular opportunities
● Coordinating with the second Baking Teacher to ensure that all baking ingredients, lunch and equipment are ordered for the week according to the set budget
● Ensuring all recipes are documented according to set guidelines
● Responsible for ensuring Health & Safety standards are followed at all times within the training kitchen
● Following & implementing Luminary Safeguarding Procedures
● Working closely with the Training and Progression Support Team to ensure targets are met, and implementing reflective practice to ensure trainees are receiving the best support and opportunities possible

Other
● Taking part in the appropriate training for the role as suggested by your line manager
● Supporting with coordinating Bake Along sessions for corporate and private clients to raise money for Luminary Ltd
● Support with graduation events (one evening once or twice per year)

You’ll work closely with the CEO and be a key member of The Migraine Trust’s Senior Management team, leading our strategic direction on communications activity alongside targeted public and political campaigns.

Key responsibilities:

• Lead the delivery of the organisation’s 2026 policy and communications plans and coordinate the development of plans and budgets for 2027
• Oversee development and delivery of the charity’s policy and public affairs strategy, ensuring a strong evidence base and meaningful involvement of people living with migraine
• Manage work our public affairs agency to deliver targeted influencing projects to improve migraine care, workplace support, and parliamentary engagement
• Shape policy recommendations and develop strategies to engage key stakeholders including parliamentarians, policymakers, clinicians, employers and partner organisations
• Monitor the external policy environment identifying risks, opportunities and emerging issues relevant to migraine
• Work with the team to develop and execute creative and impactful communications campaigns to raise the profile of the charity and tackle misunderstanding around migraine
• Ensure content across all channels – including media, digital, social and publications - is on brand and reflects our values and core messaging
• Ensure our online presence meets the needs of our stakeholders, and is fit-for-purpose for current and future organisational needs
• Oversee production of relevant reports, marketing materials and key publications working with freelance agencies and designers as required
• Work closely with Fundraising colleagues to identify and develop opportunities that support organisational growth
• Ensure all those living with migraine and their voices are central to our policy, campaigning and communications work
• Act as a spokesperson when necessary, representing the charity externally

Knowledge and Experience

Essential

• A creative and experienced communications leader
• Wide experience working in the field of communications (in house or agency) and able to demonstrate knowledge of a broad range of communications activities
• Demonstrable experience of developing media strategies and managing media relations to achieve results
• Ability to deliver policy and public affairs strategies that create change
• A strategic thinker able to develop new ideas and turn these into action
• A strong leader and manager
• Excellent written and spoken communication skills and the ability to communicate, engage and build relationships with a wide range of audiences across the organisation and externally
• Calm under pressure with sound judgment
• Confidence to represent The Migraine Trust externally including public speaking as necessary
• Ability to manage a diverse workload and work under pressure.

Desirable

• Experience working within a health, disability, or long-term conditions context
• Experience of the voluntary sector and/or lived experience engagement
• Knowledge of digital transformation or digital communications best practice

Responsibilities:

• Working with our digital agency to run paid campaigns (PPC, social, lead generation) and supporting traditional methods where effective.

The Finance Officer will work within the Finance Department to provide essential day today financial processing, support and advice. The post-holder will be a key member of the team in keeping accurate and up to date records of the organisations financial activities on both the accounting system & associated files.

You’ll be based at the Wildlife Trust’s Head Office at Centre of the Earth, 42 Norman Street, Birmingham, B18 7EP, with some work at our EcoPark site in Small Heath and occasional travel across the region and nationally. 

Key Responsibilities

• Creation and maintenance of processes and systems to ensure the smooth running of the finance function including adding new suppliers and customers to the system
• To be responsible for keeping up to date and accurate records of financial transactions on Excel and the accounting system
• To raise and issue sales invoices, follow up outstanding invoices and resolve any issues.
• To liaise with suppliers and creditors to maintain relationships as part of cash flow management.
• To check and reconcile purchase invoices ready for payment, to investigate and resolve any issues.
• To be responsible for the petty cash system in line with the organisations Financial Procedures.
• To manage the purchase order process ensuring compliance in line with policy.
• To complete regular bank, Petty cash and credit card reconciliations.
• To oversee the credit card processing, ensuring security at all times.
• To ensure all contracts/agreements are central filed and updated on the database.
• To report to statutory bodies such as Entrust
• To support the Director of Finance with the production of finance reports to senior managers on a monthly basis relating to income & expenditure
• To support with the processing of direct debits for membership donations
• To support with ad hoc tasks as the trust requires
• To support the preparation for the annual audit, e.g. stock take reconciliation, fixed asset records, Charity Commission and Companies House checks.
• To run the payroll reports and send to the Director of Finance for review and approval
• Undertake other duties as requested by line manager that contribute to Trust strategies.

• Highly organised with excellent attention to detail 
• Able to manage multiple priorities in a busy environment 
• Confident using Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Outlook 
• Strong communication skills and able to work independently 
• Experience in the charity sector is desirable
