Key Responsibilities:

Role Summary

As Communications & Operations Officer, you will strengthen how Acumen Academy UK communicates and delivers its mission - supporting bold social leaders and amplifying their stories of change.

Your focus will be on communications: creating and sharing campaigns that tell the story of our Fellows, programmes, and partnerships. Alongside this, you will play a key operations support role, ensuring the smooth running of our programmes, events, and participant communications.

Working closely with the UK Director, Senior Programme Manager, and Acumen Academy’s global marketing team, you’ll help shape how we reach new audiences, engage our growing community, and turn insights into action - while developing your own professional skills and networks.

This role is a full-time role and has a salary of £25,000 to £28,000 per year (depending on experience).

Key Responsibilities

Communications

• Design and deliver digital campaigns, newsletters, and social media that amplify the work and impact of UK Fellows

• Write and edit engaging content for blogs, reports, and events that tell the story of our community and partners

• Collaborate with Acumen Academy’s global marketing team to align messaging, share content, and contribute to global storytelling initiatives

• Track and evaluate engagement data to inform strategy and improve communications performance

• Create visual assets (using Canva or Adobe Creative Cloud) that are on-brand, accessible, and inspiring

Operations

• Coordinate event logistics, participant communications, and cohort updates to support smooth programme delivery

• Manage systems such as Airtable, GDrive, and Microsoft Excel for data tracking and reporting

• Support data collection and impact reporting for projects and funders

• Contribute to improving internal processes that strengthen the participant and partner experience

We’re looking for a talented Graphic Designer to help shape and elevate the Dogs Trust brand, crafting compelling multi-channel content that supports our strategic goals. You’ll also provide day-to-day guidance to fellow designers, ensuring high-quality, on-brand work is delivered on time, to budget, and to a consistently high standard.

What does this role do?

As a Graphic Designer you will: 

• Develop and evolve Dogs Trust’s visual identity and campaign concepts across digital and print,

Clinical Support Administrator

About the job role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Support Administrator in our First Contact Team at St Joseph’s Hospice. We are looking for someone who has experience in administration and working in a healthcare environment.

The First Contact Team is a dynamic one-stop service that transforms the way patients and referral agencies access the Hospice’s services. An opportunity has arisen for a full-time Administrator to join the First Contact Team. If you are a successful applicant, you will be part of the team that acts as the first point of contact for the Hospice’s services. You will answer telephone calls from people who may be in difficult and stressful situations, provide advice and signpost to other services or agencies. You will also undertake associated administration and data entry.

The service operates 24 hours over seven days a week for advice, whilst referrals will be taken mainly in daytime hours. You will work 37.5 hours every week. Shift patterns will vary, and you will be expected to cover shifts from Monday through Friday, 8.00 am to 9.00 pm, plus occasional weekends according to the rota.

The Head of Communications is a fundamental role within the Somerset Wildlife Trust.

The role is responsible for leading the development and coordinated delivery of the Trust’s communications in line with the Wilder Somerset 2030 strategy. This includes identifying key audiences, crafting core messages, and selecting effective communication channels to raise awareness and understanding of the Trust’s work. The postholder will support staff across the organisation in achieving the strategy’s aims while managing a team of specialists and responding to emerging issues professionally and astutely.

Working across teams, the Head of Communications will develop and deliver an annual communications plan that meets the organisation's priorities.

Key Responsibilities and Tasks

Responsibility 1: Leadership & Cross Team Working

• Strategic Planning: Lead the development of the communications delivery plan and annual calendar, involving all areas of the Trust, defining key audiences, messages and channels with the aim of increasing awareness and understanding of the Trust. Provide effective leadership and build strong working relationships with departments across the charity to ensure integrated communications plans and campaigns are developed and implemented to achieve the maximum impact with external audiences.
• Communications Delivery Plan: Effective coordination of both messages and activity – both reactive and proactive throughout the year. Including improvements with revised website navigation and architecture, SEO improvements and content targeted at priority groups, including use of video, and influencers.
• Senior Leadership Team: Be an active member of the Senior Leadership Team taking collective responsibility for decision making, risk and budget management across the Trust. Work with the Senior Leadership Team to ensure all communications effectively contribute to and support all strategic goals of the Trust.
• Brand Marketing: Work with teams to improve our products and services and how these meet the needs of our audiences, including working with focus groups (with co-creation when relevant).
• Building Capability: Coordinate providing support and training for all staff to achieve effective communications, which supports the Trust’s overall brand and positioning, including mentoring the communications team.
• Systems & Processes: Maintain and develop systems for gathering information and communications planning within the Trust and from project partners, RSWT and SWT. Embedding into all teams’ ways of working.

Responsibility 2: Communications Delivery

• Line Management: Manage, support and develop a team of staff and volunteers to deliver the communications work programme, providing effective line management. Including the provision of specialist support and advice for the development of specific communication campaigns or tools across the organisation.
• Budgets: Ensure communication activity elsewhere in the Trust is produced within allocated budgets and timeframes.
• Performance: Set and manage KPIs and budget for communications programmes, monitoring and reporting performance and reforecasting in line with Trust requirements. Continuous improvement.
• Brand: Develop the Trust’s brand, ensuring a clear and distinctive brand proposition and engaging brand identity, which also supports the Trust as part of the Wildlife Trusts movement. Ensure the brand’s consistent use and monitor the link with the Trust strategy and values.
• Public Affairs: Oversee the PR and media relations (press office function), and act as a key charity spokesperson when required. Horizon scanning and being aware of emerging issues to develop opportunistic messages to optimise nature recovery actions.
• Crisis Management: Protect the Trust's reputation by ensuring the effectiveness of robust crisis management plans and the definition of clear policies and position statements.
• Design, Content & Print: Coordinate the Annual Report with teams and Trustees. Editor for the members’ magazine and print products to support membership retention and enable action for nature.

Responsibility 3: Campaigns for Change

• Strategic Campaign Planning: Work with our policy, advocacy and engagement specialists to design campaigns that move people through the engagement funnel, change behaviour, influence policy, and improve supporter retention. Work with the Exec Team to set campaign objectives tied to clear outcomes: acquisition, activation, retention, behaviour change, policy influence, or income generation.
• Supporter Journeys & Segmentation: Map and optimise journeys across channels (email, web, social media, print, events) with named next steps that move people toward deeper engagement and action.
• Marketing Campaign Leadership: Own the strategic design of multi-channel marketing campaigns and provide clear briefs and creative direction to the delivery team. Ensure channel integration so website journeys, email, print content and social media activity are coordinated and measurable. Keep storytelling compelling while optimising for acquisition and action.
• Advocacy & Policy Campaigns: Work across teams to design campaigns to influence systems change by leveraging our data and evidence, combining public voice, stakeholder engagement and targeted advocacy tactics.
• Behaviour Change Campaigns: Work with our engagement specialists to apply social marketing techniques and behavioural frameworks to shift norms and the adoption of actions for nature. Translate data and evidence into interventions that use communication tactics such as prompts, social proof, incentives and nudges to create measurable behaviour change.

The Director of Operations is a member of the Senior Management Team. The overall purpose of the role is to work with colleagues across the organisation to develop and oversee effective and efficient administrative, IT, finance and operational policies, systems and services to support delivery of the foundation's strategy, while ensuring that these policies, systems and support services uphold the foundation's culture and values.

The Director of Operations also plays a key role in shaping and sustaining an inclusive, collaborative and values-driven organisational culture, ensuring that systems, processes and ways of working promote staff wellbeing, equity and learning across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Strategic Leadership: Provide organisational leadership across core operational functions and contribute to SMT and Board decision-making to ensure effective, compliant and future-focused operations.
• Human Resources: Oversee HR strategy, policies and processes to create an inclusive, supportive and high-performing workplace.
• Digital, IT, Facilities & Infrastructure: Ensure robust, secure and efficient digital, IT, facilities and infrastructure systems that enable staff to work effectively across all locations.
• Finance: Lead and support the finance function to maintain strong financial planning, control, compliance and investment oversight.
• Governance: Maintain effective governance structures, ensure regulatory compliance and provide clear, timely information to the Board and committees.

• Senior experience leading core support functions, including HR, IT, organisational infrastructure, and contract and supplier management.

Senior experience in the foundation or wider voluntary sector, ideally with insight into the needs of social justice organisations and voluntary sector infrastructure is desirable.

LEF is based near Goodge Street tube station (WC1E 7EB). You will need to be willing to attend the office at least twice a week, as well as be able to attend meetings and events across London. This is an interim role for 6 months. LEF will be recruiting for the permanent position early next year and the successful candidate will be open to apply. The ideal start date for the candidate will be mid/late-January so you will need to be immediately available or able to start in January.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As Programme Coordinator, you’ll support the work of our Communications and Networks Team while helping keep our office and digital platforms running seamlessly. 

You will:

Website and digital

• Maintain and update the Democracy Classroom website with resources and programme content.

• Work with colleagues to upload reports, blogs and event details.

Operations

• Oversee day-to-day office administration, including supplies, IT support liaison and record-keeping.

• Support finance processes, including invoices, expenses and financial tracking.

• Maintain key operational systems such as our CRM, database and filing systems.

Events and programmes

• Coordinate logistics for meetings and events (online and in-person), including venues, catering and participant communications.

• Support programme delivery by liaising with facilitators, partners and participants.

Team support

• Provide diary management and scheduling support for senior staff where needed.

• Prepare meeting agendas, take minutes and track actions.

• Assist with recruitment, onboarding and HR processes.

You’ll also have opportunities to contribute to wider organisational projects and learn new skills as our work evolves.

The job is based on a 14 month fixed term contract (including a 6-month probation period), with opportunities for extension. 

The Politics Project is based in central London, with a mixture of in person and remote working. The hours of work are 37.5 hrs per week. Occasional travel to elsewhere in the UK and working unsocial hours in evenings and at weekends may be required.

Under the supervision of the European Regional Director, the Director of External Partnerships will oversee IFAW’s strategic partnerships development geared towards advancing IFAW’s efforts to protect and save the lives of animals.

He/she will strengthen IFAW’s profile in the United Kingdom by:

o Representing IFAW in UK, in particular to corporations, institutional donors, private foundations, and other relevant stakeholders, with the aim of increasing IFAW’s visibility and generating revenue;

Role and Responsibilities

1. Partnerships strategy elaboration

· Design and update a comprehensive partnership strategy with external stakeholders in the UK market. In order to support IFAW’s mission and strategies, this Partnership Strategy shall cover the following types of partnership:

o Polical and institutional (public sector, national and decentralized authorities);

o Financial (private sector and institutional donors);

o Technical, programmatic and academic (non-governmental community, universities, research institutes).

· Work closely with cross-functional teams to align Partnership Strategy in the UK and beyond

2. Strategy implementation and partnerships development

· Build, foster and maintain strong relationships with target stakeholders (external audiences, leaders, institutional partners, community organizations, funders, etc.) to

o Enhance effectiveness and reach

o Advance and drive collaborative solutions

· Influence UK key political decision-making processes

· Represent IFAW on priority issues in external meetings, conferences, public events, and media interviews and act as spokesperson.

· Play a key role in advancing IFAW commitment to impact investing. This involves:

o Identifying investment opportunities that generate financial returns and create social/environmental benefits.

o Working with the IFAW Leadership Team and others to develop and implement innovative investment strategies that align with strategy ensuring that our resources are used to drive transformative change.

3. IFAW UK Representation

· Serve as IFAW’s UK Representative corporations, institutional donors, private foundations, and other relevant stakeholders

· Serve as authorized signatory, when appropriate

Qualifications and Education Requirements

· Minimum of five years of experience in the development of strategic partnerships and institutional funding, NGO management, high-level advocacy or a related field in the UK and beyond.

· Strong leadership and team management skills.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

· Agility and strategic vision

· Demonstrated expertise in the nonprofit landscape.

· General understanding of environmental and climate issues. Knowledge of conservation and animal welfare is an asset but not essential.

· Ability to analyze data and use it to inform decision-making.

· Experience with local, regional, and national institutional funding sources.

· Working knowledge of legal and compliance obligations that apply to international NGO operating in the UK.

The successful candidate will come to serve alongside me and our other leaders. They will bring significant knowledge and
understanding of the Anglican church, the challenges and opportunities it faces in evangelism to those on the margins, and a creative empowering approach to answering those challenges. As Church Army continues its journey of significant strategic reshaping, you would play a vital role in shaping the vision and strategy and then leading the work of Church Army for the next season of ministry. As Church Army reorientates itself towards a much stronger focus on training and equipping for evangelism on the margins, the new Director will be able to demonstrate both understanding and experience in this area.
