The role
As Senior Programmes Officer you will closely with our peacebuilding partners to help deliver an ambitious new programme of work. Through Local First, Peace Direct will work with policymakers and power holders, supporting them to understand the dysfunctions of the peacebuilding system, and find ways to better support locally-led peacebuilding.
This role is responsible for developing and managing partnerships within the four countries, with initial emphasis on Mali. You will work closely with our other SPOs who manage partnerships in the four countries, and create and manage opportunities to bring partners together to learn from one another. About the role:
This role is responsible for developing and expanding the membership offerings of LFBF, including chartered and corporate memberships, while also overseeing bursaries, scholarships, and awards. The position involves cultivating senior-level relationships with key clients, with Profit & Loss responsibilities for charity funds, and contributing to strategic decisions as part of the Senior Leadership team. Additionally, the role-holder will drive the integration of the Centre for the Study in Financial Innovation (CSFI) into our broader strategy, ensuring alignment and successful implementation.
This is an exciting strategic leadership role which enjoys both the flexibility of hybrid working and flexible part-time hours.
Key Responsibilities:
- Creating and implementing strategies to promote LFBF's chartered and membership, while exploring and building new revenue streams.
- Managing and growing relationships with UK and international banks and financial services providers, seeking sponsorships and partnerships to support our objectives.
- Developing a strategy for integrating CSFI into LFBF, including launching and promoting CSFI events and managing its brand through digital channels.
- Identifying and establishing partnerships with educational institutions and organisations to facilitate scholarships, bursaries, internships, and specialist qualifications.
- Leading presentations to secure commercial commitments, gathering market feedback, and contributing to the development of LFBF’s brand identity.
- Taking responsibility for the profit and loss for LFBF’s training arm, LFBF Learning Ltd., and ensuring alignment with LFBF’s strategic growth plans.
You will have:
- Worked in a senior business development role, preferably at Director level.
- Proven experience in successfully developing and implementing strategic marketing and business development plans.
- Demonstrated the ability to manage and grow a portfolio of clients, with a focus on building long-term relationships.
- Experience in developing and managing partnerships with educational institutions, professional bodies, and securing sponsorships for events.
- Previous experience managing a profit and loss statement for a business unit or department.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and effectively manage projects.
- Excellent communication, presentation, influencing, and negotiation skills, with a strong ability to collaborate with and persuade stakeholders at all levels.

Chance to Shine is an independent children’s charity. We change young people’s lives through cricket giving them the opportunity to play, learn and develop through the sport. We keep them physically active, teach them vital skills like teamwork, communication and leadership. And above all, they have fun.
Since 2005 our Chance to Shine Schools programme has helped reverse the decline of cricket in state schools with millions of boys and girls in over 13,000 state schools playing and learning through cricket. Purpose of the Role
A key part of Chance to Shine’s Communications department, this role will have help to drive awareness of the charity – communicating our mission, vision and messages to key audiences.
Principal Responsibilities
The Communications Officer will support include the following areas:
- To offer support on a range of diverse projects and events to increase the profile and awareness of Chance to Shine
- To help with the planning, execution and analysis of communications and marketing campaigns throughout the year
- To help manage the Chance to Shine brand internally and externally – including both written and visual brand guidelines
- Supporting the Director of Communications and Digital and the Fundraising team with the activation of corporate and funding partners
- Assisting with media liaison and monitoring including but not limited to:
Ø Managing the media contacts database
Ø Monitoring and organising media coverage
Ø Pitching stories to local print, online and broadcast media
Ø Managing relationships with designated media outlets
- To lead the charity’s application process for internal and external awards
- To help develop the Chance to Shine ambassador scheme; maintaining relationships and organising visits
- Supporting the Director of Communications and Digital in the production of key publications and documentation
- Support public affairs activities, including drafting letters, preparing lobbying documents, sharing information, and raising awareness of the charity
- To drive content and media activations with key partners such as the England and Wales Cricket Board and the Chance to Shine delivery network
- To help carry out any other tasks as required
