Responsibilities of our Senior Data Integrity Officer:

• The Senior Data Integrity Officer is a key role in our Data & Analytics team and is responsible for managing Cat Protection’s supporter centric Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) data loading system processes, ensuring timely processing, data governance compliance and following best practice.
• This role leads three Data Officers to improve our data architecture - increasing ingestion of data, building new import routines, improving and documenting dataflows and processes and automating as much manual processing as possible from numerous data sources.

About the Data & Analytics team:

• The Data & Analytics team are a department of 14 people in the Marketing & Income Generation directorate consisting of three sub-teams : data processing, data selections and data analytics.
• The data processing sub-team are responsible for importing supporter data into our main CRM from numerous different data sources and developing the import routines to do so, they are also responsible for data integrity; ensuring data is accurate and up to date, and maintaining our single customer and supporter view.

What we’re looking for in our Senior Data Integrity Officer:

• Significant experience working with a CRM system and database
• Experience of using ETL (extract, transform, load) import tools for example Blender
• Leading on projects to build and improve inward data flows and processes
• Proven experience of measuring and improving data quality, through development of documentation, validation rules and data cleaning
• Knowledge of fundraising CRM database for example Care, Dynamics or similar
• Excellent knowledge and understanding of data protection legislation including GDPR and PECR

Bethphage is a charitable business, operating across the West Midlands providing support to people with disabilities and those who experience mental health problems 

Bethphage has recently celebrated its thirtieth Birthday. Since establishment in 1994, Bethphage has grown from strength to strength, diversified and continues to grow. We operate as a commercial business, we are driven by our mission and live by our values, with the people we support at the heart of what we do. We have held the Investors in People Gold for twelve years. 

Our person-centred approach also enables us to work strategically with commissioners to develop bespoke provision which achieves the desired outcome for people. 

As a not-for-profit business, we reinvest our surpluses wisely and in addition to purchasing several homes for the people we support, our head office, we have recently purchased a farm with twelve acres in South Shropshire to develop our farm-based day opportunities, whilst providing longer term development opportunities over the next five to ten years. 

The current incumbent has decided to retire (early) and has successfully made the job his own over the last five-years. Therefore, we are reluctantly seeking a replacement to join our executive management team. 

The successful candidate will lead on all fiscal and IT issues and be accountable for these functions across Bethphage. This role will demand a strong commercial financial acumen, as these are difficult times for our sector.  We are operating in an environment of disappointing settlements from commissioners and proposed changes in legislation which will complicate the supply of staff.  Fortunately, the organisation has been well and prudently managed so has strong foundations. 

The key purpose of the role is to provide professional leadership to Bethphage's fiscal agenda, ensuring their efficacy and fit with the organisation's values, ethos, culture and strategy. With strategic responsibility for finance and IT you will ensure that the organisation has highly effective well-implemented operational strategies, which align to Bethphage's core business, and deliver positive outcomes.

Core Duties 

1. You will play a key part in ensuring we achieve our mission to be an excellent provider of services to people with disabilities.

13. Control all financial and accountancy matters including month end reports, management accounts, cash flow management, statutory accounts, compliance, presentation of management information and KPIs   

14. Support the business through change and growth periods, coordinating corporate finance, debt, taxation, equity, acquisitions, and VAT registration.   

15. To manage and coordinate the fiscal relationships between the holding company and subsidiaries.

We are looking for an experienced Senior Finance Manager, who  will be responsible for the financial management and reporting of the organisation. Able to manage the day-to-day financial analysis and reporting requirements for Money Ready, and provide input for strategic financial planning. Responsible for the delivery of all management accounts, budget, forecasts and donor reporting as well as the annual statutory accounts. The Senior Finance Manager will be a member of the SMT. This role will lead or contribute to the implementation of new financial systems, tools, or procedures that improve efficiency, compliance, and transparency.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensures the timely and accurate production of all management and annual accounts and all forecasts in accordance with best practise and statutory requirements.
• A key business partner who provides value added business support and financial insight to the SMT and colleagues throughout the Charity.
• Provides financial insight to development team to assist with fundraising bids, prepare donor budgets, and ensure donor reporting and compliance throughout the grant life cycle.
• Responsible for delivery of all statutory and regulatory compliance, including statutory accounts, certification officer returns, Charities Commission, VAT and all payroll taxes.
• Responsible for fortnightly payment runs processing. Supervise and assist with the sale invoices processing and regular credit control. Monthly reconciliation of all Money Ready’s bank accounts.
• Responsible for monthly payroll including monthly and annual RTI reporting to HMRC, pensions payments, annual payroll processing and relevant reconciliations.
• Work with auditors on preparing the audit strategy and manage annual audit process, providing all the relevant paperwork during the audit process.
• Be a positive change champion for the organisation, identifying key impact areas and priorities and supporting change programmes and strategies in both finance and across the Union as a whole.
• Prepare quarterly VAT returns with reconciliations and reporting. Line management, objective setting and performance reviews for direct report.
• Establish and maintain a robust internal controls environment that is fit for purpose but uses a risk-based approach to the establishment of processes and procedures.

Personal Specification

• You will need to show;
• Experience Substantial experience in a finance or accounting role (including at management level) in a not-for profit organisation.
• Substantial experience in the preparation of monthly management accounts and year end accounts.
• Substantial experience in processing monthly payroll using QuickBooks Payroll and Sage Payroll.
• Line management experience, including objectives setting and performance reviews.
• Experience in charity accounting principles, especially with regards to grants and restricted funds.
• Demonstrable experience of business partnering with multiple, non-finance stakeholders.
• Experience of establishing financial systems including business plans and budgets.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

General

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Financial Controller to oversee all financial aspects of both Ethex and Energise Africa. Reporting to the CFO, the Financial Controller will be a key member of the senior management teams, responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timely delivery of financial information for both entities. This role requires a good understanding of accounting standards, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to contribute strategically to the growth and sustainability of both Ethex and Energise Africa. Key Responsibilities:

Financial Management & Reporting:

• Oversee financial accounting for both companies, working with our finance assistant, who is responsible for book-keeping, banking, AR and AP.

• Prepare accurate and timely management accounts.

• Manage the process for production of the annual report and accounts for both entities, liaising with external accountants / auditors and ensuring timely completion.

• Prepare and present financial reports and analysis to the respective senior management teams, Boards of Directors and funders of Ethex and Energise Africa.

Budgeting & Forecasting:

• Lead the annual budgeting processes for both organisations, working collaboratively with departmental heads to develop realistic and achievable budgets.

• Develop and maintain financial forecasting models to support strategic decision-making for both entities.

• Monitor budget performance, analyse variances, and provide insightful commentary and recommendations for both Ethex and Energise Africa.

Cash Flow Management:

• Manage the cash flow of both companies, ensuring sufficient liquidity to meet operational needs and strategic objectives.

• Develop and implement strategies for optimising cash flow and working capital across both entities, considering any intercompany transactions.

Tax & Compliance:

• Stay up to date and ensure compliance with all relevant tax legislation and accounting standards.

• Prepare quarterly VAT returns.

• Check corporation tax returns prepared by external accountants.

Systems & Processes:

• Continuously review and improve systems, processes, and controls to enhance efficiency and accuracy and safeguard the assets of both entities.

• When applicable, oversee the implementation accounting software and other relevant financial tools for both organisations.

Stakeholder Management:

• Build and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders, including accountants, banks, non-executive directors and funders.

• Provide financial information and support to teams within Ethex and Energise Africa.

Skills & Experience:

• Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with significant post-qualification experience.

• Proven track record in a responsible finance role, ideally as a Financial Controller or similar, with experience managing finances for multiple entities or a group structure.

• Strong technical accounting skills and a thorough understanding of relevant accounting standards and regulations.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide insightful analysis for both organisations.

About the role

You’ll lead the production of Annual Accounts for the Charity and its subsidiaries and oversee the wider Financial Accounting Team. You’ll also deputise for the Head of Financial Operations and contribute to Finance Transformation initiative.

As a subject matter expert, you will advise on technical accounting, tax, and internal controls and liaise with auditors and advisors.   Additionally, you will be responsible for driving process improvements through the effective use of data and digital tools across the organisation, with the goal of enhancing efficiency and effectiveness.

• Accountable for the efficient and accurate production of the Annual Accounts, acting as a key contact to the Auditors and Governance Team 

• Continuously develop and keep up-to-date with current regulations to act as subject matter expert on tax, audit and technical accounting queries

• Ensure that the charity meets internal and external reporting targets such as VAT returns, Gift Aid Returns, etc

What you’ll bring

• A CCAB qualified accountant with excellent technical financial accounting skills 

• Proven experience of audit or of leading the Annual Accounts production and producing consolidated statutory accounts and coordinating with auditors and other stakeholders

East End Homes, is a locally based and community-led housing association in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets. This year East End Homes is celebrating its 20th anniversary. In 2005 residents of five estates across Tower Hamlets voted for their homes and communities to be transferred to the newly established social landlord.  Today, its 120-strong team manages over 3,900 homes with local offices in each neighbourhood. 

The newly created Financial Controller position offers a rare opportunity for a technically strong, ambitious, and commercially aware finance professional to play a key role in reshaping East End’s finance function and influencing decision-making at a senior level. The Financial Controller will be a member of the Senior Management Team and this role is seen as a natural stepping stone toward Finance Director level within the sector.

The Role:

• Work closely with the Finance Director and Executive Team to support strategic planning and organisational transformation.
• Oversee the development and delivery of Eastend Homes’ long-term financial plans, annual budgets, and business modelling (including BRIXX).
• Deliver and embed a proactive finance business partnering approach across the organisation, influencing decision-making and performance management.

The Organisation:

East End Homes has made significant progress in stabilising its operations and strengthening its governance. Person Specification – Essential:

• Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA/CIPFA).
• Strong technical knowledge of financial and statutory reporting including FRS102 and Housing SORP.

You will lead the annual audit process, acting as the primary contact for auditors and other external advisors. Additionally, you'll be responsible for enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of financial and reporting processes throughout the charity by leveraging data and digital tools.

• Lead on the Annual Accounts production and act as key contact to the Auditors and Governance Team. 

• Continuously drive improvements and actively contribute to the Finance Transformation to finance processes and systems (will also lead on the implementation of a new finance system when budget is assigned)

• Act as lead, mentor and coach to the Financial Accounting Team and identify opportunities to improve processes. 

• Manage financial risks and improve internal controls through compliance to relevant governance

• Proven experience of leading the Annual Accounts production and ability to distill and present it to a wide range of non-finance stakeholders 

• A CCAB (or equivalent) qualified accountant with excellent technical financial accounting skills, including knowledge of relevant accounting principles, VAT and fund accounting

JOB PURPOSE

The main purpose of this post is to provide comprehensive financial management for Bradford Hospitals Charity, ensuring accurate reporting, robust financial controls, and effective management of the Charity's financial position.

The Finance Manager will play a critical role in supporting the charity through its exciting transition to independence, establishing appropriate financial systems, controls, and procedures to ensure the charity can operate effectively as an independent organisation. This will include developing new financial governance structures and helping to shape the charity's financial strategy for the future.

The Finance Manager will lead on all aspects of the Charity's financial management, providing accurate and timely financial information to support decision-making by the Charity Director and Trustees. They will be responsible for ensuring compliance with relevant professional standards, Charity Commission requirements, and NHS guidelines.

The postholder will maintain a close working relationship with the Trust finance team to benefit from their expertise while ensuring the Charity's specific financial management needs are met during and after the transition to independence. The Finance Manager will be supported by the Deputy Director of Finance and the Chief Financial Officer, who will provide guidance on compliance with Charity Commission requirements, financial governance, and wider strategic financial management to ensure the role is well-connected within the broader financial structure.

Working collaboratively with fundraising and operational colleagues, the Finance Manager will help maximise the use of charitable funds to benefit patients and the Trust.

JOB DIMENSIONS

The post will have responsibility for the Charity's financial systems, including managing and monitoring all charitable income and expenditure, financial forecasting, producing monthly Financial and management accounts, annual accounts, and maintaining effective control systems.

A key aspect of this role is managing the Charity's portfolio of trust funds, which consists of various restricted, designated and unrestricted funds. The Finance Manager will be responsible for ensuring that all donations are correctly allocated to the appropriate funds, that expenditure from these funds complies with donors' wishes and charity law, and that fund balances are accurately tracked and reported.

The postholder will carry out their duties in line with departmental accounting policies, and with reference to Trust Standard Financial Instructions (SFIs) & Standing Orders (SOs), as well as charity-specific financial regulations and requirements.

The Finance Manager will provide expert financial advice to fund advisors, Charity staff, and the Charity Director, taking initiative to achieve agreed results and working independently on a day-to-day basis within clearly defined policies, protocols, procedures, and codes of conduct. While having significant autonomy in managing the charity's finances, the postholder will not work in isolation but as part of a supportive network that includes senior finance leadership within the Trust.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Reporting to the CEO, we are looking for an experienced charity finance person, with accountancy qualifications.  (CIMA,CIPFA, CCAB, ACCA, AAT etc)

This a pivotal role and the post holder will be a member of the Trust’s Senior Management Team, with responsibility for overseeing all aspects of the Trust’s finances, working closely with CEO and Board.

The role would suit someone who is motivated by the Trust’s purpose and who is good at building relationships.

Main responsibilities

· Alongside external accountant, manage the maintenance of the financial accounting system and monthly accounting processes (BACS runs, Expenses, Accruals, Prepayments, Deferred Income, Payroll etc)

· Review management accounts and liaise with accountants over variances.

· Lead on annual budget process

· Maintain and report on regular forecasts throughout the year

· Monitor individual programme funding to ensure all spend is within budget

· Lead on annual audit and creation of statutory accounts by external accountants.

· Distinguish between Restricted and Unrestricted funding to ensure compliance is met and classification is correct

· Support and advise budget holders in matters relating to the financial management of their departments
