Job description

JOB SUMMARY

The Course Manager is a member of the Academic Institute which is operated within the St Mark’s Hospital Foundation and is responsible for the planning, organisation, management and promotion of academic courses and events.  These are designed to educate and inform healthcare professionals, locally, nationally and internationally, in the field of intestinal and colorectal disease.

Responsible for ensuring that the course portfolio is cutting edge and that they respond to new developments within the field in a timely manner. 

The post holder will have the expertise to manage all aspects of course administration including the use of a CRM database and event booking systems.

The post holder is responsible for setting course budgets and ensuring courses are delivered within budget.

The post holder will oversee clinical visitors and observers from overseas in a non-medical capacity.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The post holder maintains varied working relationships with a wide range of personnel, including with consultants and research fellows as the faculty and course delegates and observes from around the world.  The role demands a combination of excellent people skills as well as process due diligence

  • Plan, organise, manage and promote academic courses and events.

  • Ensure that clinical observers’ and delegates’ documentation accords with Trust policy.

  • Work with the faculty to operationally plan the timing and syllabus for each course.

  • Oversee all aspects of financial administration connected to the running of courses and receiving of visitors including delegate fees and supplier/sponsor invoicing

  • Occasionally attend medical meetings nationally and internationally to promote the educational training provided by the Institute.
