Our partner, a leading international not for profit, seeks an experienced Finance Manager to lead on the financial management of a complex multi-country & multi-grant project. This role will really be suited to someone interested in developing and strengthening systems and processes & providing financial oversight, whilst working with multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Provide financial management oversight on the project, verifying project-specific transactions and ensuring that financial data is up-to-date; and ensuring adherence to the organisation’s financial policies.
• Lead the project’s annual budgeting and forecasting process, allocating funds across country and global teams & operations.
• Prepare and deliver timely and accurate financial reports for the organisation’s project, including monthly, quarterly, and donor-specific reports for internal and external stakeholders.
• Develop and implement financial controls and processes to ensure compliance to donors and organisational policies, including tools such as templates, checklists, and manuals.
• Review budgets, quarterly reports and variance analyses, reforecasts, cash requests and agreements from sub-grantees; and ensure that they understand guidance on compliance and financial reporting.
• Treasury management – monitoring and analysis foreign exchange fluctuations, and their impact on project delivery.
• Responsible for supplier management, including reviewing contracts.

Requirements

• Qualified accountant (and holding an active membership with an accountancy body) with experience in designing, developing and strengthening processes and controls for complex multi-country, multi-grants projects.
• Experience in the financial management and administration of grants, including budgeting, forecasting, undertaking analysis & monitoring, and reporting.
• Experience of donor compliance and reporting, including of institutional donors with complex compliance and reporting requirements.
• Experience of working specifically in the context of sub-grantees and implementing partners on the ground.
• Strong analytical, communication and presentation skills, able to analyse complex financial information to provide the full picture on the project implementation, and to be able to present this alongside other analyses and reports to senior internal and external stakeholders clearly and succinctly.
• A strong command of the English language.
• Able to work effectively under pressure

POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior Manager of Philanthropic Fundraising will serve as the cornerstone of administrative support for ULI’s philanthropic fundraising initiatives in Europe. The role will report to the Vice President, Business Development & Membership on a day-to-day basis and work closely with the Chair of the ULI Charitable Trust and CEO ULI Europe.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide administrative and management support to the philanthropic fundraising initiatives of the ULI Charitable Trust (and the CT Board of Trustees / ULIF Europe Committee) and ULI Europe, including fundraising campaigns, processing collections (through ULI CT or ULI Europe) and preparing donor reports in cooperation with the ULI Finance team in the US.  
• Oversee and coordinate design and development of marketing collateral, presentations supporting fundraising campaigns, in collaboration with the ULI Europe Marketing and Communications team. 
• Collaborate closely with team members of the ULI Europe business Development and Membership team, in addition to ULI’s country directors and governance director to support the planning of, and coordinate the implementation of the European philanthropic fundraising strategy determined by ULI Europe (namely by the CT Board of Trustees / ULIF Europe Committee), focusing on both donations from individuals based in Europe and donations from European philanthropic foundations and government programmes;  
• Work with and manage relationships with individual and institutional donors, in close collaboration with the corporate accounts team, CEO, ULI Europe and the Chair of the Charitable Trust / Chair of the ULIF Europe Committee; 
• Work in close collaboration with Research & Advisory Services and ESG Programmes colleagues, to identify and research (third party) philanthropic funding and grant opportunities and assist in the preparation of applications for philanthropic funding from (third party) foundations and government agencies; 
• Coordination of proposal writing for potential foundation funding, in close collaboration with the research, marketing communications and legal and compliance teams.
• Set up and implement application, reporting and compliance process for philanthropic gifts for ULI Europe.

o Assisting Head of Finance in implementing financial policies and procedures as appropriate

o Ensuring the efficient maintenance of the financial records of Watts Gallery and Watts Gallery Trading Ltd.

o Assist the Head of Finance to produce timely, accurate and relevant monthly management accounts information for Watts Gallery Ltd and Watts Gallery Trading Ltd.

o Assist the Head of Finance in preparing the annual budget. Work with budget holders to review performance against budget and monitor the overall organisations finances to ensure we are operating within the agreed budget

o Assist with production of weekly trading data.

o With the Head of Finance, assist with the preparation of the year end statutory accounts and the audit file.

o Ensure that all accounting records are clear, transparent, and properly kept.

o Ensure all year-end journals, and audit schedules are prepared timely and in accordance with the auditor’s requirements.

Financial and Administrative operational duties:

· Ensure that day to day banking and finance administration duties are carried out:

o Monthly Payroll processing including submission to HMRC and NEST Pension

o Administering the NEST pension scheme

o Statutory returns, including surveys, funding monitoring and reporting

o Responsible for preparing quarterly VAT returns

o Coordinate Gift Aid reclaims

o Liaise with the Development team to develop systems and processes to improve gift aid claim procedures.

o Control of central purchasing

o Ensuring daily, month end, quarter end and year end routines are carried out.

o Reconcile the control accounts, inter-company accounts and conduct regular reviews of nominal ledgers, aged debtors and aged creditors.

o In conjunction with the Head of Finance help improve systems and controls surrounding all aspects of Watts Gallery’s financial management.

o Liaise with Retail and Admissions Manager to ensure cashing up processes are accurate, timely and monitored regularly.

o Be a source of technical advice and guidance on financial aspects of Watts Gallery’s activities.

o Contribute to the organisation’s strategic and operational business planning.

o Assist with financial aspects of grant applications.

o Various ad hoc projects to support the overall development of the finance function.

Staff management

o Monitor progress of finance staff vis a vis set targets

o To support the Head of Finance with development of finance staff to meet organisational objectives

o Day to day coordination of the Finance Team: overseeing accurate and timely processing of the sales and purchase ledgers, importing till data into Sage, cash and banking, administration of direct debits, credit card reconciliations, administering petty cash system and delivering excellent customer service to Watts Gallery’s internal and external customers.

Overall purpose

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the national development and delivery of our relationships with the private sector to maximise income and impact to support refugees into meaningful employment.

The main purpose of the Partnerships Manager role is to deliver first-class account management and development of corporate partnerships to drive Breaking Barriers mission.

Working closely with Senior Partnerships Managers, Head of Corporate Partnerships, and members of the Income & Engagement and Services Directorates, you will be responsible for launching, retaining and developing a portfolio of partnerships ensuring we deepen and strengthen relationships whilst identifying opportunities for growth.

You will play your part in delivering and developing strategic relationships to bring value to our refugee clients and our employment and education programmes.

The successful candidate will have experience managing corporate partner relationships, including making fundraising asks and managing external communication with donors and partners at all levels of seniority. You will deploy your influencing skills and ability to build profitable relationships to great effect as you take a leading role identifying and nurturing future strategic partnerships. An understanding of Corporate Social Responsibility would be advantageous.
