About the Role
As a critical member of the strategic leadership team (SLT) for Emmaus UK, the Director of Partnerships and Federation Development will take lead responsibility for ensuring the provision of high-quality support, advice, capacity building and grant-making for federation members in the UK.
The postholder will play a key role in the development of national strategic partnerships and will collaborate with federation members to ensure that federation strategic priorities are delivered and that our colleagues across the federation are able to do their very best work supporting people to overcome homelessness and poverty.
The role will also ensure effective programme and project management of directorate projects and work to embed cross-directorate working and co-operation.

About the role.
Head of Fundraising is one of the most critical and most challenging roles in the organisation and requires a highly skilled relationship builder.
You’ll be responsible for all fundraising activities and will hold key relationships with the biggest companies in the world.
By providing excellent stewardship and engagement opportunities you’ll ensure these vital partners continue to contribute towards online child safety.
You’ll secure not only industry buy-in and participation but the funding required to carry out the research, advocacy and policy work Internet Matters carry out.
You’ll also develop and implement the fundraising strategy across core funding streams, primarily through existing partners but also:
- Grants
- Commissioned research and policy work
- Securing new corporate partners
Each relationship with partners is bespoke and highly valued.
You’ll work to ensure these partnerships are long-term and mutually beneficial, spotting opportunities to deepen relationships and for business development to generate revenue for the charity outside of fundraised income.

Key responsibilities
Reporting to the Executive Director, you will:

Work on the development of technical frameworks, guidelines, standards, certification or audit processes relevant for implementing regulation for children’s rights in the digital environment at international, EU and UK levels. This includes representing 5Rights in technical meetings and working groups, such as at the IEEE and CEN-CENELEC.

Work to promote and support the uptake of these standards by the tech industry, including by working with industry associations, chambers of commerce and tech companies directly.

Lead our work to gather technical evidence on company compliance with regulation for children in the UK and EU.

Identify cases of non-compliance, develop argumentation and engage with companies and regulators for remedy, with legal support as necessary.

Work to promote compliance, by supporting public accountability for non-compliance and positive visibility of best practice.

Lead our work to raise awareness and stimulate action of industry stakeholders, notably advertisers and investors.

Liaise with technologists and experts around the world, exchanging knowledge and staying up to date on the latest developments, research and emerging issues.

You’ll be a confident and skilled researcher, a clear, fresh thinker, and an excellent writer. Remuneration and details
