Key responsibilities 

• Ensure timely and accurate advice and guidance is given to line managers and employees on HR employee relations issues, absence management, employment legislation, policies and procedures, referring requests for advice on complex employment matters to legal advisors.
• Provide in-depth support and legislative expertise and guidance with staff matters, including disputes, performance, disciplinary, and/or grievance matters.
• Provide support for the performance management system ensuring that it is completed on time each year and outputs are used to inform the talent and career development procedures.
• Explore opportunities to increase the Society's Apprenticeship programme and make use of the Apprenticeship Levy.
• Timely recruitment, globally to provide recruitment and interview guidance, and training to interviewers.
• Define and develop specific inclusion and diversity priorities and targets.
• Collaborating with senior leaders and directors to plan and facilitate activities that support the organisation’s commitment to inclusiveness.
• Utilise data and insights to create board and business reports that track progress towards measurable outcomes.
• Partner with relevant teams globally to maintain consistent messaging and branding for equality, diversity and inclusion initiatives both internally and externally.
• Oversee the UK monthly payroll preparation.
• Produce the monthly HR reports for SMT and Committee meetings.
• Lead on the organisation learning and development program drawing on the outcomes of the performance management process and with input from senior leadership team to identify priority capacity development needs.
• Work with SLT to develop career paths that help grow internal talent pool.
• Review and update HR policies, contracts and procedures to ensure they support gender equality, diversity and inclusion.

About you 

• CIPD Qualified with experience in a senior HR role 
• Strong knowledge of equality, diversity and inclusion best practices and regulations
• Experience of working for an INGO or similar global non-profit entity
• Solid understanding of employment legislation
• Experience working effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders at all levels.
• Experience of delivering on HR change and transformation projects would be beneficial
• Proactive and consultative approach with the ability to work in fast pace environment
• Hands-on experience with Human Resources Management Software (including payroll and absent management systems)
• Knowledge of data analysis and reporting

What the job involves

As Communications Planning Manager you’ll be reviewing all incoming internal communications briefs, ensuring they have clear objectives, audiences, and timelines, and are aligned to organisational priorities and goals. You’ll be responsible for leading as well as updating, when necessary, our briefing and communications team process.

You’ll be responsible for workflows across the communications directorate, having oversight of capacity, prioritising and scheduling work accordingly. You’ll support annual business and resource planning; helping the organisation prioritise and understand the potential impact vs effort in business decisions.

To ensure our teams can work at their optimum we’re currently updating our approach to communications processes, including updating our project management tools, prioritisation structure and our wider programme management office.

What we want from you

To be successful in the role you’ll need to have exceptional organisational skills and be a strategic thinker who thrives on implementing and driving new processes to deliver efficiency.

You’ll have demonstrable experience with stakeholder and relationship management – building rapport at all levels, managing conflicting priorities and ensuring effective use of resources. In reviewing briefs you’ll be comfortable in challenging the details provided and developing briefs with product owners to ensure resources are being used effectively.

A background in marketing communications or similar would be ideal for understanding the needs from the start in developing effective campaigns. Experience in using workflow tools (like Trello) or Agile methodologies will be desirable but not essential.

As Finance & Operations Administrator you will have a key role to play working closely with the trustees and Head of Fundraising & Communications to co-ordinate activities,  to ensure day to day operations in the UK run smoothly.  

The role as advertised covers a broad range of activities. However there will be peaks and troughs of workload.

-  A qualified accountant or bookkeeper with experience of Xero ideal (training can be provided).

About the role:

As Executive Director you will lead a small team – Head of Education (full time), Head of Community Life (full time) and Programme and Volunteer Officer (full time), working with a charity that has a vision of a world where no one is forced to choose between their LGBT+ and Jewish identity.

As the only charity doing this in the UK, the charity works in partnership with communities to identify their goals, then tailor  support so they can achieve them.

Key responsibilities of the Executive Director:

• Delivering the organisation’s priorities as laid out in the 2022-2027 strategy
• Ensuring financial sustainability through devising and executing a fundraising strategy and carefully managing the organisational budget

• Sensitive, compassionate leadership and management of the professional team
• Working in close partnership with the Board of Trustees
• Effective accounting and governance
• Monitoring and managing risk via the risk register and seeking legal advice where necessary
• Managing key stakeholders both internal (e.g. volunteers) and external (e.g. communal partners, the wider LGBT+ sector)
• Being the primary spokesperson and ambassador for the charity

About you:

• The ability to speak and write confidently and authentically about LGBT+ issues
• Strategic leadership, planning and decision-making experience in a commercial, not-for-profit or public service setting
• Line management experience, including the ability to inspire and empower a staff team
• Understanding of the charity and voluntary sector, including the funding environment in which charities operate
• Highly effective relationship-builder across multiple arenas (internal stakeholders, external partners, funders etc)
• Knowledge and experience of strategic planning and business development, including operational planning and delivery management
• Knowledge and working experience of organisational finance and budget planning cycles
• Experience working with, and preferably in, the UK Jewish community
• Positive, problem-solving and solutions-oriented

Although not essential it would also be beneficial if you have some of the following skills / experience:

• Delivering training or education in a Jewish setting
• Experience in fundraising
• Understand and experience in print, social and broadcast media
• Experience working with the LGBT+ community
• Experience in using CRMs such as Salesforce

As Fundraising Manager, you will support the team to develop meaningful and sustainable relationships with supporters, managing a small portfolio of your own donors and leading on the day-to-day contact with corporate partners and event sponsors.

As Fundraising Manager, you will:

• Manage a pool of HNWIs, corporate partners and event sponsors focusing on delivering compelling stewardship plans to deepen relationships with supporters and secure income
• Proactively identify and research major donor and corporate prospects, and develop individual cultivation plans to move along the pipeline
• Create high-quality and innovative pitches and presentations to engage prospective donors/partners
• Manage relationships with event sponsors ensuring key deliverables are met
• Support the delivery of Elephant Family’s renowned events, primarily focusing on managing the relationships with guests, event partners, and sponsors
• Work with the Programmes team to identify funding opportunities aligned to donors’ interests and current funding needs
• Take ownership of the database (Salesforce) ensuring donor records are up-to-date to allow for effective supporter communications and engagement

Ideal skills and experience: 

• Demonstrable experience of managing relationships with HNWIs and corporate partners at the 5-figure+ level
• Proven experience of soliciting and securing support from prospects
• Strong writing skills with ability to create engaging content, proposals, pitches, presentations, reports and other donor communications
• Exceptional organisational skills, attention to detail and proven ability to manage a varied workload
• Strong communication and networking skills with the confidence to engage stakeholders of all levels (SMT, Trustees, senior volunteers, donors, partners, colleagues)
• Database management skills
• Team player, creative, trustworthy, target-driven and proactive

Over the last few years, New Horizon has been steadily growing in response to increased demand for our services.  Our ambitious plans for 2024/25 include expanding our service offer and securing an additional site locally that will add much needed space for young people’s activities and office space. The Finance and Resources Manager role will add capacity to our Administration Team, creating a new deputy manager role to support the delivery of our expansion plans support and relieve increased demand. The Cleft Lip and Palate Association (CLAPA) is the national charity for people affected by cleft lip and palate in the United Kingdom.

CLAPA supports people affected by cleft to take control of their journey, connect with others, and use their voices to impact the future of care. Our vision is that no one affected by cleft lip and palate in the United Kingdom will go through their journey alone.

We are looking for a Content Coordinator to join our small but dynamic communications team.

As CLAPA’s Content Coordinator, you’ll be responsible for publishing a steady stream of stories, blogs and other engaging content on our website and other platforms.

The UK cleft community is full of fantastic stories waiting to be told, and you’ll be there to sensitively support people of all backgrounds to share these stories with your insightful questions and top-notch editing abilities. You’ll be comfortable talking to everyone from school-age children to NHS cleft surgeons to get the kind of content that will inspire and engage our community.

You’ll be our go-to writer when a new resource needs to be drafted or edited, and you’ll enjoy the challenge of adapting your writing to different briefs and communicating complex ideas to people of all ages and abilities. This is a brand new role to meet rising demand within the team, so you will have a real opportunity to make the role ‘yours’. You’ll have the freedom to try new things, share ideas, learn from feedback, and work with others to solve problems. While you’re expected to be proactive in fulfilling key tasks, you’ll be fully trained and supported in every aspect of your work by the Head of Impact.
