As a Ubele Programme Assistant, you will be a member of the Community Wealth Building hub supporting our Programme Manager with the Agbero2100 London programme by overseeing administrative tasks, communicating with our partners ensuring resource availability for the project team from project inception to completion.

Main duties & Responsibilities

• To act as the first point of contact for the Agbero2100 London programme, responding to and redirecting enquiries as appropriate.
• To co-ordinate the work and meetings of programme stakeholders and partners, including minute taking. 
• To ensure effective and ongoing communications with key stakeholders, maintaining their interest throughout the programme.
• To gather partner agreements, consultancy agreements, contracts and purchase orders, working closely with our finance hub to issue invoices and chase outstanding payments.
• Coordinate the programme information with stakeholders. 
• To manage programme information ensuring all data is stored and shared securely. 
• To organise events and seminars, and to draw together the contributions and outcomes from these events.  Providing support where appropriate.
• To contribute to the coordination of events with the support of Comms including maintaining positive relationships with Comms.
• To support the programme manager in efficiently collecting, relevant data to inform decision-making and enhance project outcomes.
• The Programme Assistant will utilize appropriate tools and techniques to collate data from various project stakeholders, teams, and relevant sources.  Establish a structured approach to capture both qualitative and quantitative data to assess project progress and performance under the instruction of the Programme Manager or Hub Lead.
• Support the Programme Manager in preparing regular and ad-hoc reports. 
• Support the Programme Manager to maintain accurate and comprehensive documentation of data collection methods, analysis techniques, and results for project audit and future reference. 
• Adhere to relevant industry standards, legal requirements, and organizational policies related to data privacy, confidentiality, and security.Handle sensitive project data with the utmost integrity and take necessary precautions to prevent unauthorized access or disclosure.
• To support or manage volunteers and interns. 
• To carry out additional work for the programme as and when required by hub lead.

The Director of Programmes will contribute to The Africa Centre’s emerging strategic priorities, overseeing and delivering programmes and related project activity. They will engage and connect with diverse audiences and communities through creative programming, delivering innovative, enriching, dynamic and enjoyable events and experiences that entre people of African descent and reach the widest demographic. They will play a leading role in delivering our learning and inclusion work, developing audiences, existing and new, and oversee all The Africa Centre programme activity across the UK, on the African continent and in the wider African Diaspora.

As part of the Senior Leadership team, they will play an important part in driving the vision, mission, and values of The Africa Centre as a world-leading organisation at the forefront of debate, dialogue, and social purpose around our five core pillars of arts & culture, education, community development, entrepreneurship & innovation and thought leadership. Through innovative programme development, they will ensure that the urgent issues faced by people of African descent are reflected and addressed in The Africa Centre’s activity profile. They will ensure that The Africa Centre is a place of fun, connection, education and information, relevant to all people with an interest in Africa and African people.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

Strategic Leadership

• Oversee, convene and deliver TAC programmes, developing live and digital content in line with our strategic priorities.
• Fulfil the leadership role of contributing to the development of The Africa Centre’s emerging strategy.
• Lead and convene programme development and content delivery, ensuring commercial, artistic, operational and audience development objectives are met for both live and digital events.
• Draw on audience segmentation, communications and brand strategies to strategically align programme to audience and our income generation objectives.
• Work collegiately with the Senior Leadership Team to develop and deliver The Africa Centre’s Audience Development Strategy linked to the programme and strategic objectives.
• Identify opportunities to apply for funding and contribute to income generation activities related to programming and engagement.
• Lead on developing and delivering high quality experiences for artists and experts across all our activities, ensuring they are supported and nurtured.
• Establish a strategy for identifying, supporting, and nurturing new creative talent.
• Lead on safeguarding, equalities, diversity, inclusion and access across the organisation’s programming.

Programme Leadership

• Deliver world class content to reflect African excellence drawing on the best creative minds and experts across multiple genres – from contemporary arts to literature and fiction; science and history; geo-politics and climate change; equalities and democracy and more.
• Deliver original content that has variety, breadth, and depth, identifying the most appropriate structure for building relationships with partners, commissioning new work, contracting artists, identifying thought leadership opportunities and utilising a wide range of formats – live and digital - to implement ideas.
• Draw on the expertise within the team, their networks and creative content, convening an holistic programme in line with TAC’s strategic priorities, income generation priorities and brand.
• Develop and implement TAC’s Elimu Education Programme, fostering relevant relationships with educational institutes from primary to tertiary levels across the UK and beyond, and co-creating programmes of activity.
• Oversee the development, implementation, monitoring and reporting of any contracted work that delivers programmes of activities in the UK and abroad,
• Lead on developing, nurturing and administering relationships with strategic partners including the TAC Global Network of Affiliate Organisations.
• Oversee the work of the Young Africa Centre.

Engagement

• Maintain existing and develop new audiences, identifying programme strands that respond to and anticipate the needs and interests of diverse communities, introducing new ideas, innovative content and inclusive talent pathways.
• Seek out, develop, and sustain networks, stakeholders and partnerships at local, regional and global levels, and explore new ways for the charity to grow and develop at the cutting edge of global ideas
• Identify opportunities to develop The Africa Centre events across the UK and digitally, to reach wider audiences and deepen brand recognition across the year.
• Identify project funding to develop audiences, increase diversity and meet equalities objectives.
• Oversee learning and engagement programmes in the UK.
• Deliver and build upon current UK funded projects and contribute to developing funding bids.
• Oversee the management of TAC’s marketing and communications functions, including our public relations, website and social media accounts, ensuring that they are updated, relevant and archived appropriately.

Impact

• Lead on development and delivery of the organisation’s strategic Monitoring, Evaluation and Impact framework and associated plans and systems
• Develop and delivering TAC’s social purpose agenda, ensuring alignment with our strategic objectives.
• Oversee the development and management of TAC’s archives, be it digital, documental or physical, ensuring that they are catalogued, accessible and available for utilisation as a key resource.

Operational

• Line manage the programme, education and engagement team(s), recruiting, as necessary, skilled persons to deliver TAC programmes.
• Manage the delivery of contracts and partnership collaborative efforts, ensuring that contracting is delivered to the highest standards at all times to protect the reputation and financial standing of the charity and to meet contractor’s expectations.
• Identify potential funders relevant to area and contribute to writing business plans demonstrating a seamless relationship between content, programmes, events, audiences, and the core business activities
• Support the work of the Director of Development Team in developing and delivering the fundraising strategy and the Director of Finance & Operations on delivering TAC financial plans

Governance & Compliance

• Write reports for the board as and when required by the CEO in a timely and appropriate manner
• Work with the Director of Finance & Ops to ensure the financial health and sustainability of the charity in delegated budget area(s), adhere to TAC Financial Regulations and Procurement Policy.
• Ensure that all artist contracting is undertaken within TAC procurements and contracting policies observing all other required policies and statutory guidelines e.g., Equalities, Safeguarding, Health and Safety, Intellectual Property, GDPR, Finance and Procurements etc.
• Maintain accurate records on The Africa Centre’s document management system and databases.
• Respond to general enquiries by email or telephone, manage own workload and maintain an online diary, using agreed TAC systems.
• To promote and comply with current legislation including The Africa Centre policies on Equality and Diversity and Health & Safety, Safeguarding, in the delivery of services and the
• Uphold the TAC brand and reputation

Leadership

• Be a vital, collegiate member of the TAC Senior leadership team,
• Develop and nurture relationships with the TAC Board, managing relevant committees and reporting to the Board and sub-committees as required.
• Represent the organisation at appropriate internal and external events and meetings, locally, regionally and globally.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Essential

• A clearly-evidenced long-standing passion for Africa and people of African Descent
• 3 - 5 years working at a senior level in a similar role
• Excellent Programme Management experience with excellent budget management skills
• Excellent communication and networking skills, adept at effectively engaging people across a range of settings – from school children to Prime Ministers and Presidents;
• Educated to degree level of equivalent (relevant subject area)
• Team player, able to work cross disciplinary with artists, experts, academics, key stakeholders, and audiences in a programming function working with diverse audiences
• Specialist knowledge of audience development gained through 3 years’ experience
• Agile approach to work, recognising the limitations and challenges of running a small charitable organisation and willingness to work flexibly to get things done, apply effort and integrity at all times. Regular weekend and evening work will be required.
• Experience of working with an operations team to deliver events (production, tech requirements, artist management)
• Experience of delivering to funder obligations (Trusts and Foundations/Public and Private Funding) • Excellent network in publishing; cultural and creative sector; or other relevant sectors

The post-holder will design, deliver, procure, and oversee high-quality training, formation and development programmes to meet the specific needs of the Pastoral Development Department in its support for the local church (parishes and deaneries) and beyond, in line with the new Pastoral Plan.

We are seeking a Psychometrician for two days per week to lead psychometric analyses and interpret the examination results of the Royal College of Pathologists.

The College is responsible for the delivery of pathology examinations for doctors, scientists, oral pathologists (dentists) and veterinary pathologists in 17 specialties – the Fellowship examinations of the Royal College of Pathologists (FRCPath). The FRCPath Part 1 is held online and is a test of knowledge while FRCPath Part 2 is held in person around the UK as well as in the Republic of Ireland and, for histopathology, in international centres such as Dubai and Egypt. The College is regulated by the General Medical Council for the medical examinations and the General Dental Council for the Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology examinations, but the examinations are open to all appropriately qualified candidates.

The FRCPath examinations are held twice a year in Spring and Autumn and attracts approximately 1,200 candidates per session across the specialties. While some examinations attract up to 200 candidates, some examinations consistently attract very small numbers of candidates, with a number of examination cohorts sitting somewhere in between. The Psychometrician will advise on the appropriate data collection methods for the examinations and undertake psychometric analyses of appropriate examination data for each examination session and will, in time, be asked to provide analysis of longitudinal data.

As the College continues to develop its examinations, the Psychometrician will possess sufficient expertise to provide advice on the appropriate psychometric tests to undertake for the specialty examinations as different formats or methods of delivery are considered.

The examinations are delivered by an examinations team in the College which sits within the Learning Directorate. Each specialty examination is supported by an appropriately qualified panel, led by a Panel Chair, all of whom are overseen by the Clinical Director of Examinations (a pathologist). The Psychometrician will be expected to communicate with a wide range of individuals regarding the College examinations, with varying levels of knowledge about psychometrics, and will provide training for examiners and staff on a regular basis.

The College is a professional membership organisation dedicated to the advancement of the science and practice of pathology. There are currently approximately 12,000 members, all of whom are pathologists based in hospitals, universities and laboratories in the UK and overseas. Role Purpose

Southwark Cathedral has been a place of Christian worship for over 1400 years. Now it stands on the vibrant and exciting regenerated south bank of the Thames surrounded by cultural venues such as Tate Modern, Shakespeare’s Globe and Borough Market, the offices of major companies as well as schools and diverse residential communities. It is an inclusive Christian community that offers a welcome to all.

This is a key role at Southwark Cathedral supporting the Dean. This secretarial role will primarily feature management of a busy personal diary, correspondence and broader administrative support for the Dean in his capacity as Dean of Southwark, Chair of Chapter and CEO of the Cathedral.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Lead the coordination, preparation, planning and follow up for the Dean’s briefing for and attendance at meetings associated with the governance of the Cathedral including Chapter, Finance Committee, Audit & Risk Committee, Nominations Committee, Fabric Advisory Committee and Board of Enterprises. This will include research and assisting in the drafting and review of papers for such meetings, but minute taking will not usually be required (but may be requested from time to time in liaison with members of staff usually responsible for the minutes);
• Support the Dean in all their working relationships including building and maintaining excellent relationships with Chapter Members and Committee Members, the Bishop’s staff and with the wider Diocese, as well as with neighbours, commercial partners, professional advisers and other third-party organisations relating to the Dean’s work;
• Prepare the Dean’s weekly diary file, including the preparation of any meeting papers or briefs for the week ahead;
• Manage the Dean’s diary: including making appointments, arranging meetings, scheduling preaching and other liturgical arrangements, programming annual schedules (such as Bishops Staff Meetings, chaplaincy and wider public commitments) - keeping Outlook diaries up to date with any changes and making travel arrangements;
• Support other members of the clergy team with administration tasks as requested;
• Set up key meetings including room set up and refreshment provision as required;
• Assist the Dean with the processing of their expenses;
• Work with the Governance & Committees Manager on Gifts Registry declarations for the Dean;
• Provide administrative support to bodies the Dean chairs, e.g. Southwark Cathedral Development Trust, the Deans Fund and other Cathedral-associated bodies;
• Draft briefs and reports for the Dean;
• Draft, file and send outgoing correspondence on the Dean’s behalf and process incoming correspondence;
• Interact with the Cathedral database in support of the Dean’s work;

Terms and Conditions

Working Hours

The working hours shall be 21 hours per week (exclusive of meal breaks), usually over three days. Some out of hours working will be required to support meetings and events and this will be notified in advance. Time off in lieu will be awarded in line with Southwark Cathedral’s policy.

Annual Leave

20.5 days per annum including statutory bank holidays, with an additional 5 days (pro-rata) after 10 years’ service. 

Probation

The appointment is subject to the satisfactory completion of a six-month probationary period.

Season Ticket Loan

Once the probationary period has been completed satisfactorily, the person appointed will be eligible to take out a season ticket loan.

Pension

The person appointed will be eligible to join a defined contributions pension scheme managed by the Church Workers Pension Fund. The Cathedral will contribute half of the annual premium of 10% of salary.

Working Expenses

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a co-ordinator for the Flourish project in the Diocese of Chester.

As part of the Church of England’s Growing Faith initiative, Flourish aims to see a network of 450 new worshipping communities established in educational settings across England, beginning with a pilot scheme involving 40 locations in 12 dioceses. About the role

As The National Partnership Manager, you will report directly to the Head of Strategic Partnerships & Business Development function for Scotland. You will manage a team of embedded Senior Project Officers working within the partner national organisations and delivering in partnership with a broad range of local stakeholders to develop and deliver local Active Travel Strategies, Visions and Plans.

You will work closely with colleagues to secure funding for our work, capturing and communicating the impacts of better places for people.  You will ensure our for everyone values – to strengthen diversity and inclusion across the charity, whilst ensuring that a more systematic approach to the embedding of our ‘for everyone’ principles permeates through our work.

You should have line management experience and substantial experience of project management, including budget management.

You must have the ability to communicate authoritatively and persuasively to a range of audiences, with demonstrable experience of remote and face-to-face partnership development techniques.
