The Philanthropy Fundraiser will play a key role in growing high-value income streams by identifying, building and nurturing relationships with major donors. What you’ll be doing
- Lead the Philanthropy strategy and drive growth across all high‑value income streams
- Identify, cultivate and solicit major supporters to secure high value donations aligned to agreed targets, including the £200m Global Cancer Appeal.
- Recruit and work with Appeal Board members, senior volunteers and trustees to progress prospects and secure transformational gifts.
- Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including senior clinical leaders, to shape compelling fundraising priorities and packages.
- Work with the Head of Philanthropy & Special Events and the Head of Trusts, Stewardship and Philanthropy Communications to lead, motivate and inspire our high-performing teams
- Contribute to charity‑wide leadership, governance and risk management; deputise for the Associate Director as appropriate.
About you
You bring a well‑established, highly successful career in high‑value philanthropy, with:
- A proven record of securing seven‑figure and above gifts, and developed expertise in high‑value acquisition and relationship management.
- Experience in identifying, recruiting and managing senior volunteers, and working credibly with donors, board members, VIPs and ambassadors.
- Strategic leadership of senior fundraisers and teams, driving performance, culture and process change.
- Significant budget accountability (c.£1m+), high numeracy and the ability to interpret financial reports and KPIs.
- Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills; confident handling complex, sensitive and confidential information.
- Commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion, embedding inclusive practice across fundraising.

Purpose
The Philanthropy Leads, reporting to the Head of Philanthropy, are responsible for inspiring new prospective, cultivating and stewarding high-value donors into greater involvement with Christians Against Poverty. They aim to draw supporters closer to the work we do, deepening their relationship and support of CAP. Income from CAP’s major donors is vital for the future expansion of CAP in the UK.
Each Philanthropy Lead may be allocated one or more area of Philanthropy engagement in order to specialise in, but will be expected to support in any area as required. Such areas include:

Accountabilities:
Strategic Implementation & Fundraising

Implementation of a strategic plan to significantly increase major donor income.

This is a critical role in a progressive campaigning organisation. Your input will see the growth of the organisation through the development of a range of income generation streams. The successful candidate will be responsible for securing income from trusts, foundations, major donors and legacies, in addition to revising and developing the fundraising strategy. A key priority for this role will be identifying and maximising on opportunities with trusts and foundations through writing compelling applications to maximise on the funding opportunities available to the organisation from the diverse range of priorities they support.
The successful candidate is likely to bring a demonstrable track record in securing income from a range of sources, including trusts and foundations. You will enjoy leading and managing teams and working strategically as well as 'hands on' as your remit will include establishing relationships with new, existing, and previous funders.

As the Head of Philanthropy, Asia you will be responsible for growing our major gifts programme in the Asia-Pacific region. About The Role
We are looking for an exceptional Senior Philanthropy manager for Trusts and Foundations to join the King’s Maudsley Partnership (KMP) fundraising team and secure significant long-term philanthropic investment for children and adolescent mental health research and treatment.
The King’s Maudsley Partnership will have its home at Pears Maudsley Centre for Children and Young People in south London, opening in early 2026. The partnership brings together clinical and academic excellence in a unique collaboration between the UK’s largest NHS provider of specialist Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services, South London and Maudsley NHS Trust (the Trust), and King’s College London’s Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience (IoPPN), the leading child and adolescent mental health research team in Europe – with Maudsley Charity as its charity partner alongside other leading philanthropists.

As Senior Philanthropy Manager for Trusts and Foundations, you will lead on cultivating and stewarding high‑value relationships with charitable trusts and foundations to secure six and seven-figure gifts. The role will focus on developing compelling proposals grounded in evidence and impact, managing a robust pipeline of donors and prospects, and ensuring timely reporting that builds long‑term confidence in our work. You will take a leading role in navigating and maximising the value of a complex institutional and multifaceted partnership, managing multiple stakeholder relationships with professionalism and strategic insight. About You
To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:
Essential criteria
- Demonstrable experience in fundraising from trusts, foundations and statutory funders, ideally in the Higher Education or health/research sector, with a focus on six and seven figure donations.
- Experience of growing a fundraising pipeline, with an emphasis on building new relationships with previously ‘cold’ prospects and managing a cultivation through to solicitation and stewardship.
- A proven track record of using initiative to secure major grants and donations.

We’re super happy for her. But it means time for change! So, we're looking for a new colleague to join us and build forward from all the hard work that she’s put in!
This role is a critical one in our fundraising plans - raising around £300k annually, with pipeline potential for more as you unlock partnership working and programme development across the organisation.
You’ll need to be a bit of an all-rounder - researching and keeping pipelines updated, eccure gifts and donations, consider applications, adapt data and information and inspire with your words, reporting on progress and income. Add a dash of strategic thinking as we develop programmes and look for new funding support to achieve that. We currently raise about £200k (with about ¾ of that as secure as any pipeline can be) but have a budget target of £100k to raise from partnership working and programme development with others in the team. There’s a lot of potential in this area!
The trusts environment is, quite frankly, a bit bonkers so we know that this won't appear on paper to be the easiest role in the world. You’re going to need grit and tenacity as well as all the other skills a good trust fundraiser needs. But we’re a great team, going great things and in a fantastic position to build forward from our existing strong position in Trusts.
We’re a small but flexible team - just like our approach to work. This is a hybrid role, and you’ll need to show your face in the office periodically (for things with a purpose, not just for the sake of it!).
