Recruiting an Assistant Management Accountant to join our Finance Team in Westminster!
GBP 25,000 - GBP 35,000 per annum, dependent on experience, plus 25 days Annual Leave, Pension schemes, Staff discounts, healthcare and more. This role is a 6 month fixed term contract, working 35 hours per week.
Look Ahead Care and Support is a specialist housing association and provider of tailor-made care, support and accommodation services. Every year in 30 local authorities across London and the South East it supports more than 7000 people with a wide range of needs, including mental health, homelessness and complex needs, care leavers and young people.
Job Overview:
The Assistant Management Accountant will assist Look Ahead Managers in their budgetary control and management responsibilities by preparing monthly management accounts, analysing variances and compiling the annual budget and quarterly reforecasts.
Key Responsibilities:
Budgetary Control
- Assist in the co-ordination of budget and quarterly forecast information from all budget holders
- Assist in the review, challenge and recording of budget and forecast assumptions
- Maintain the integrity of data in Jedox, ensuring all budget holders have the relevant security permissions
- Import budgets and forecasts into the Accounting system
- Issue and distribute budgets to all budget holders
- Assist Property and Landlord Services with the annual rent increase process
Management Reporting
- Prepare and distribute monthly salary reports to budget holders
- Post relevant accrual and prepayment journals on a monthly basis
- Post monthly journals for Procurement for Housing
- Prepare and distribute all monthly management accounts to Senior Management Team (SMT) and budget holders on a timely basis
- Review trends, analyse variances and highlight risk and problem areas to the Finance Business Partners
- Investigate and resolve any issues raised by budget holders
- Reconcile relevant balance sheet accounts on a quarterly basis including accrual and prepayment control accounts
- Process overhead apportionments
- Reconcile the insurance control account quarterly
- Post all fixed asset journals, reconciling relevant balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis
- Prepare the quarterly VAT return
- Work flexibly and co-operatively as part of the team and the Finance Department
