This role is available on a permanent contract and full-time basis. The salary for this role is between £40,000-£45,000, dependant on level of experience. This is a hybrid role, where you will attend the Central London office.
 
Within this Operations Manager role, you will lead the running of the charity’s day to day operations. You will oversee functions which include HR, governance, finance, and operational policies and processes.
 
You will oversee governance operations, supporting senior leadership executives and the Board to meet their legal responsibilities and keep policies and systems up to date. You will also provide secretariat/executive support, which will involve coordination of Board and Committee meetings.
 
To be successful in this role, you will be a proactive and detail-orientated person who has significant experience in a similar role or an Operations role. You will have knowledge of charity governance and Board secretariat experience. You will have strong organisation skills and ability to manage multiple projects.
 
You will be a strong communicator who has experience developing professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders. You will have excellent IT skills. You will have an enthusiasm for change, with the ability to apply innovative approaches to project and people management. You will have experience implementing digital processes or platforms. You’ll bring experience of improving processes/systems and making the most of available resources to strengthen day-to-day operations.

About the Role

This is a hands-on and rewarding role where you will lead the day-to-day delivery of major donor fundraising and help grow legacy giving. We are currently recruiting a Partnerships Manager, for an exciting role within the charitable foundation of a globally renowned sporting event and club.   

The charitable foundation provides grants and financial support and donates resources such as physical gifts and use of its facilities. It works with charity partners locally, nationally and internationally to champion opportunity for all. The foundation has a rich selection of programmes with a focus on the community based in South West London in particular, as well as a national sport for development programme and international charity partners. In 2024 grants and donations totalled more than £5 million.

The role:  
This is a central role within the Foundation team to manage, develop and maintain partnerships and programmes with national and international charities, corporate partners and colleagues across the business. This role offers high visibility across the organisation and is ideal for someone who thrives on acting as a brand ambassador, networking and building relationships.

You will be confident as a brand ambassador connecting with people and bringing a problem-solving and collaborative approach. This role needs a natural communicator who leads with positivity and clarity, building relationships with existing and new contacts at all levels, including service users, colleagues, board and senior management level. You will be accountable for creating and delivering against large scale partnership plans and developing new activities and events in collaboration with existing partners. They are looking for someone with demonstrable experience of developing and delivering partnerships with charity/voluntary sector organisations as well as businesses, particularly in the sport for development field.

Strategy and Theory of Change

• Working closely with the CEO to lead Bite Back’s organisational impact strategy, including refining and maintaining our theory of change.

• Translating our theory of change into clear outcomes, indicators and learning questions that guide programme design, campaigns and organisational priorities.

• Designing and overseeing Bite Back’s impact measurement framework.

Data Systems and Standards

• Supporting the development and monitoring of KPIs across the organisation, providing clear insights and recommendations to the Leadership Team.

Donor monitoring and evaluation

• Working with fundraising and programme teams to design robust monitoring, evaluation and learning plans for funding bids, including developing outcomes frameworks, indicators, and evaluation budgets that align with Bite Back’s broader organisational impact framework.

• Working closely with the Senior Grants and Fundraising Manager to ensure Bite Back meets its impact and reporting commitments to funders.

Building a Learning Culture

• Managing relationships with external evaluators, ensuring projects are delivered on time, on budget and to a high standard.

• Embedding equity, diversity and inclusion principles in Bite Back’s impact and evaluation work, ensuring methods are inclusive, accessible and reflective of the communities we work with.

Role

We seek a Finance Manager to lead the day to day running of the charity’s finances including overseeing the work of our outsourced financial provider. As a grant giving organisation, there will be regular interaction with the programmatic workstreams in this position, offering a fantastic opportunity for the right candidate to increase the capacity of a field-leading charity, help empower researchers in the Global South, and contribute to one of the world’s most important climate debates. Working with the COO, you will undertake organisational financial planning, budgeting and forecasting so that the senior staff and trustees have comprehensive information for decision making. Furthermore, in cooperation with the Development Manager, this role will support the submission of funding bids and reporting to funders to ensure the continued growth of the charity.

Responsibilities

As this is a new role, responsibilities are expected to evolve but some key items include:

• Financial Oversight: Overseeing the outsourced finance provider, ensuring service delivery meets organisational needs and deadlines. You will be the primary liaison between our financial services provider and the staff, ensuring that they make payments on behalf of the organisation, runs payroll, completes the bookkeeping via QuickBooks, the monthly management accounts, and the annual statutory accounts. 
• Budgeting & Forecasting: Preparing and monitoring annual organisational budgets including a mid-year adjustment, cash flow forecasts, financial models and annual accounts to support the annual business cycle and fundraising bids.
• Reporting: Finalising monthly management accounts prepared by outsourced financial provider, deliver financial reports for the COO, senior leadership, and trustees, and preparing donor financial reporting.
• Financial Strategy and Investment Oversight: Working with the COO to manage financial resources and reserves including developing the investment policy to support the long-term goals of the charity.
• Audit & Compliance: Leading on annual audits, maintain compliance with UK charity finance regulations, and ensure adherence to funder requirements.
• Programmatic financial support: Working closely with the programmes teams to ensure their payments processes run smoothly with the outsourced financial provider, and regularly reviewing their grant and event expenditure is in line with their own managed budgets.
• Process Improvement: Identifying opportunities to streamline financial processes and implement best practices, such as working with Operations to improve payments & expenses software, opening new bank accounts, or finding new platforms to reduce international payment fees.

* Maintain a current tracking system for referral clarity and produce regular reports.
* Analyse referral data to identify local commissioning needs and growth opportunities.
* Work with managers on person-centered assessments covering care needs, environmental suitability, risk management, and transition planning.
* Complete and submit needs assessments with costings and support package requirements.
* Coordinate the assessment process and internal referral meetings.
* Develop a responsive referral and assessment pathway aligned with best practice.
* Act as the first point of contact for stakeholders ensuring timely and responsive communication.

SENIOR HR ADVISOR – GENERALIST STAND ALONE ROLE

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Senior HR Advisor to join our team starting, ideally, from early 2026. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced HR generalist, transitioning to managing an HR standalone function. This is permanent full-time role based in Old Street – London, with occasional travel to our Bristol office.

You will be involved in the whole employee lifecycle, from when candidates apply for a job to when staff leave the organisation. You will also help provide training and development opportunities for employees, and guidance around issues such as performance, career progression, and managing disciplinary issues where they arise.

You will have the opportunity to significantly contribute to the ongoing development of the HR function at Deighton Pierce Glynn (DPG).  The role supports all aspects of HR, including recruitment & development, diversity & inclusion support, promoting positive employee relations and employee wellbeing, salary and benefits; all aspects of HR administration, and maintaining/upgrading the HR System and HR processes to fully utilise automation where it makes sense.  The role will also involve ensuring relevant HR policies and procedures are understood and followed. You will have the opportunity collaborate with the DPG team and the Senior HR Consultant to evolve the HR function, at DPG.  You will also have the chance to undertake HR initiatives that help deliver the DPG People and Culture objectives.

You will have the ability to truly grow and continuously develop within the role as you will be the main HR contact for all HR matters, with support from the Managing Partner, Practice Manager and HR Consultant.

Requirements:

• At least 2 years’ experience as HR Advisor or equivalent, in a generalist role.
• A desire to continue developing your HR experience and growing your career in this area.
• Ideally level 5 CIPD qualified with a desire to continue to professionally develop.
• Able to demonstrate professionalism, discretion and confidentiality at all times.
• Work style is consultative and actively listens to understand differing perspectives and problem solve.
• Strong emotional intelligence, relationship building skills and a genuine desire to help ‘make a difference’ in terms of helping the team to be successful through a fair and consistent approach to developing HR practices that support their growth, motivation and wellbeing.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• A proven track record of refining HR processes and ideas of how to implement AI into HR operations, with strong skills in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to work at pace and multitask in a productive, delivery focused, empathetic and self-motivated way.
• There is no requirement to already have experience of working for a law firm, however we are looking for someone with a keen interest in working for a law firm with a strong ethos of ‘using the law for good’ and promoting civil rights.
