The Job 

Reporting to the Senior Fundraising Manager, this role sits within the Communications, Engagement and Fundraising team. The Church Engagement and Events Officer will play a key role in building relationships with churches, supporters and volunteers across Britain, Ireland and Europe, helping them engage more deeply with USPG's vision and mission. 

You will lead the planning and delivery of USPG's events programme, including the USPG Conference, Founder's Day, In Conversation Dinners and the annual Carol Service, as well as supporting the organisation's presence at festivals, synods and other national events. Working closely with colleagues across the organisation, you will help create inspiring and engaging experiences that raise awareness of USPG's global mission. 

As the first point of contact for many church supporters, you will provide excellent stewardship, support and resources that inspire churches and communities to engage through prayer, giving and action. You will also contribute to the development of USPG's church engagement activity, helping to strengthen supporter relationships and increase engagement across the church year. 

About You  

You are a confident and proactive relationship builder with experience in planning events and working with churches, supporters, volunteers or Christian organisations. You are passionate about helping people engage with mission, justice and the global Church. 

An organised and effective communicator, you can manage multiple projects and events, build strong stakeholder relationships and work independently while contributing to a collaborative team. You are comfortable engaging with clergy, church leaders, volunteers and supporters, and are motivated by USPG's mission and Christian ethos.

We’re looking for a Senior Media and Communications Lead to deliver and manage our rail suicide prevention campaigns.

In this role you’ll take the lead in managing Samaritans’ communications and media activity relating to rail suicide prevention. You will manage the delivery of our important Small Talk Saves Lives campaign and other targeted awareness campaigns. This is a senior role working across the whole Charity, tasked with growing public awareness and support for Clatterbridge Cancer Charity. Leading on marketing, PR, brand and design, this role will manage relations with media, stakeholders, supporters and the wider public, creating and delivering engaging campaigns, generating support for the Charity, demonstrating impact and increasing income generation.

You’ll play a key role in helping us share the stories of seriously ill children, young people and their families, raising awareness of our work and inspiring more people to support Rays of Sunshine.

As RCOG Communications and Media Manager, the campaigns you design and lead will ensure the voices of women and frontline clinicians are shaping the health agenda and influencing policy.

In this role, you will work regularly with national journalists, women’s health charities, Department of Health and Social Care, NHS England or successor bodies, other royal colleges, specialist societies and other partners to develop accurate and compelling stories that bring the College’s work to life in the news.

Working closely with colleagues across our Policy and public affairs, Workforce and Marketing teams, you will be part of a friendly and passionate External Affairs directorate.

• Lead College’s annual external communication plan including  variety of campaigns aligned to the College’s strategic priorities.

About you

You are an experienced communications professional who has led communications programmes and integrated campaigns from planning through to evaluation You have strong press-office and media-relations experience and a track record of building productive relationships with journalists.

You combine strategic thinking with and editorial judgement and are comfortable managing both reactive media issues and longer-term communications activity. You can advise senior stakeholders clearly and calmly, work constructively with partners and ensure that clinicians’ expertise and women’s lived experience are represented accurately and respectfully.

You will thrive in this role if you enjoy varied work, can prioritise effectively when circumstances change and are motivated by the contribution that communications can make to better healthcare for women and girls.

• Demonstrable experience managing development and delivery of an organisation’s communications programme

WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS

You will lead the delivery of Chefs in Schools External Affairs function, ultimately ensuring there is widespread recognition that poor quality school food is unacceptable. Through integrated media, digital and advocacy work, you’ll ensure quality school food is viewed as a vital tool for healthy development and food literacy. 

You will turn strategic direction into coordinated delivery, leading a multidisciplinary team that increases our influence, strengthens our reputation and helps achieve meaningful improvements in school food.

Working closely with External Affairs colleagues and Chief Executive, you will ensure our public profile, policy influence and media work reinforce one another, while creating the management capacity required for a growing organisation. This builds on the new functional structure where media and content, policy and campaigns, and the School Food Review programme all sit within External Affairs.

We want Chefs in Schools to become the most trusted and recognisable voice in the conversation around school food and food literacy. This role will play a central part in building that influence and recognition.

WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

Leadership

• Lead the day-to-day operation of the External Affairs team.

This role works with colleagues across the organisation, including our senior management team - but also in partnership with external organisations and agencies - with targets set for engagement (and other indicators of the success of our campaigns). We're working on multiple campaigns simultaneously; whether that's Carers Week, campaigns to influence changes to the law to better support carers, encouraging unpaid carers to join us as members, updating on activities in the devolved nations or getting people to fundraise for Carers UK. And we use a mix of owned, earned and paid communications to drive engagement in a challenging and crowded environment in order to get our messages to cut through. It's a busy, but varied role, in a supportive and collaborative team.

About you

Working within the communications and marketing team, you'll be confident in managing our social media accounts (we have many), ensuring we're using platforms to get our messages out to both wide and targeted audiences with engaging and timely content.

You'll be happy using tools for social listening, interacting with our audiences and building our reach. You'll be familiar with key metrics for social engagement and will be reporting back to colleagues and other stakeholders - and using this data to constantly improve our communications.

You'll be skilled in writing longer form content for our members' magazine, Caring, proof reading articles, posting content on our websites, creating graphics and making sure our content is engaging, audience focused and dynamic. Oh, and you probably know your way around an emoji set and are not scared of a well timed pun. Plus you'll have a great eye for detail and be confident in your ability to prioritise (and sometimes reprioritise) your workload as needed.

We're a small but effective communications team and pride ourselves on getting stuck in and supporting each other when we need to deliver big on fast moving projects, so you'll need be able to juggle lots of demands while recognising the importance of always hitting deadlines.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Public Policy Officer to coordinate our policy advice and public affairs work – contributing to the delivery of one of our four key strategic priorities: “Contribute to major policy solutions by providing independent advice and facilitating knowledge exchange”. We are looking for someone to with the enthusiasm to mobilise our amazing Fellows and other stakeholders to ensure our work delivers impact. 

The role holder will also have responsibility for the Society’s Welsh Language offer and bilingual working.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to combine flexible working with an interesting and varied role in a dynamic team. We are looking to employ on a fixed-term basis for one year (in the first instance), and on a 0.8FTE basis, but will consider job-shares.

Fluency in Welsh is a requirement of this post.

Role Purpose 

The Chief Executive Officer will provide strategic, operational and values-led leadership for Home-Start Norfolk, ensuring the charity delivers its mission, supports its families effectively and remains financially sustainable. Working closely with the Board of Trustees, the CEO will lead the organisation’s strategy, people, services, partnerships, governance, income generation and volunteer strategy, while acting as an ambassador for the charity and its work.

Strategic Leadership 

• Lead the development and delivery of the charity’s strategic plan in partnership with the Board of Trustees.

Financial Leadership and Income Generation 

• Provide overall leadership for financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and long-term sustainability.

Variety is looking for a PR and Communications Manager to join our successful fundraising and communications team for FTC maternity cover. This role includes management of internal and external communication channels at Variety including the website, supporter newsletters, social media and PR.  Leading on brand and design, you will oversee freelance support during busy periods including photographers and filmmakers. This role leads and manages brand design on Canva, short film editing and works with the Director of Communications on PR. 

The PR and Communications Manager is key to achieving Variety’s mission to fund life-changing practical support to disabled and disadvantaged children and young people across the UK. You will be joining the charity at an exciting time as Variety is launching a new three-year strategy and you will play a key role in our collaborative and high-performing team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

● Lead the planning, creation and delivery of engaging content across Variety's communications channels.

● Manage the website content, ensuring information remains accurate, accessible and on brand.

● Work with the website developers to deliver improvements and SEO optimisation.

● Manage Variety’s social media content and calendar to ensure children’s voices are at the heart of our storytelling.

● Manage email marketing, including the supporter newsletter on Dot Digital working with the team to grow our mailing list.

● Gather case studies that demonstrate Variety’s impact, working closely with the programmes delivery team and the families we support.

● Review and proof communications produced across the organisation.

● Write and oversee press releases, responding to media enquiries.

● Monitor, analyse and report on digital communications performance using insights to improve email open rates, content and audience engagement.

● Manage the Senior Social Media Officer overseeing objectives, holding 1-1s and annual appraisals.

● Produce creative assets on Canva to support fundraising and campaigns.

● Attend Variety events, partner schools and community groups to capture engaging content, maximising engagement and representing the charity.

● Store and manage digital assets and the photo library, keeping records and consent up-to-date on the CRM (Salesforce), and manage the communications inbox.

● Participate in staff meetings, fundraising and programmes meetings and contribute to the success of Variety’s strategy.
