As Head of Fundraising and Communications, you will manage a high-performing team of four staff: Database & Donor Manager, Communications & Engagement Manager. Community & Events Officer and the International Development Manager. Your key priority is to raise the income required as per the agreed annual income budgets for the organisation, managing all relevant income streams that include Trusts & Foundations, Events & Community, Corporate, Statutory, International and Individual Giving. You do not need to demsontrate an expertise in all of these streams. You are also responsible for ensuring that all communications messaging is strengthening our brand and engaging our supporters.

Finally, you are an active member participating in the Senior Management Team contributing insights and strategies that align with the charity’s development goals. By engaging in this leadership role, the Head of Fundraising and Communications role will help to drive the charity's mission forward, ensuring long-term sustainability and impact.

Job purpose

Core Events

• To support the events strategy through delivery of high-quality events, designed to attract current and new supporters.

Are you looking to make a meaningful contribution to nature’s recovery in Wiltshire through a diverse portfolio of projects including farmer engagement and land advice, ecology and natural capital?

Wiltshire Wildlife Trust is committed to driving forward nature’s recovery on a landscape scale and we are looking for a committed and innovative Head of Nature Recovery – Maternity Cover (secondments welcome) to continue to drive forward the development of this work. This is a key role for our Trust, in which you’ll use your expertise and knowledge to continue our efforts to drive meaningful change for nature, further developing our work via our innovative collaborations, pioneering natural capital markets, meaningful farmer engagement and nature-based project demonstration.

You’ll be leading a small but dynamic team involved with a wide range of projects, including the groundbreaking Bristol Avon Catchment Market, NEIRF, a developing land advice service and support for farmers with private finance opportunities and delivery of a range of specialist ecological services including species recovery projects. This role requires someone who is self-motivated and energised, able to lead and empower staff.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

• Support the development of existing projects within the team including natural capital markets, farmer engagement and species recovery projects.

About the role

Sightsavers’ Trusts and Corporate Partnerships team is excited to be expanding its team in response to growing demands and opportunities in the trusts & foundation sector. We are recruiting for two additional Trusts & Foundations Advisors to be key contributors to the development of Sightsavers trusts and foundations programme. They will play a crucial role in the successful recruitment and cultivation of new business, while also managing a portfolio of existing trust and foundation donors primarily based in the UK, U.S and Europe.

In this role, the Advisor will be instrumental in contributing towards the team’s annual income target and supporting additional planned growth in the coming years. 

Responsibilities

• Manage and cultivate relationships with a portfolio of key trust and foundation donors for Sightsavers (up to 7-figure funding agreements) via proposals, mailings, reports, telephone or face-to-face meetings as appropriate, and coordinate donor visits, dealing with CEOs, Directors, and Trustees.
• Develop key external and internal relationships and donor engagement activities for the achievement of planned objectives with these donors.
• Research, identify, prioritise, and develop personalised engagement plans and donor strategies to cultivate new trust prospects in targeted global markets. Lead on cultivating relationships with CEOs, Directors, and Trustees, with the aim of establishing additional high-value funding relationships.
• Work proactively across the organisation, including cross-culturally, to coordinate, develop, and deliver a high standard of compelling project proposals and reports ready for submission to donors whilst ensuring excellent grant/contract management to existing donor relationships.
• Actively participate in the networks surrounding trusts and foundations, sharing information, insights, opportunities, and fundraising materials produced.
• Represent Sightsavers and/or support staff delegations at conferences and networks to engage with and cultivate new donor relationships.
• Contribute to team, departmental, and wider organisational systems development and initiatives.
