As the Senior Philanthropy Executive, Trusts, you’ll be at the heart of our trust fundraising programme. You will build and nurture relationships with both new and existing trust and foundation supporters, and work closely with our clinical teams to bring powerful, compelling projects to life through outstanding proposals.

What you’ll be doing
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing and growing a portfolio of Trusts and Foundations, comprised of existing supporters and potential prospects in order to deliver sustainable income growth.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with Trusts and Foundations, leading cultivation and solicitation strategies to secure five-figure donations and long-term support.
- Researching and identifying new funding opportunities which align with our organisational funding priorities.
- Creating compelling, clear and high-quality funding applications and cases for support to engage and inspire prospective donors
- Delivering excellent stewardship and reporting for Trust and Foundations in your portfolio, keeping them informed and engaged with the work of the Charity and The Royal Marsden
- Planning and delivering targeted fundraising communications and mailings to groups of Trusts and Foundations, providing consistent, high-quality updates aligned to priority funding themes and organisational objectives.

Job Purpose:
EMERGENCY is an independent, international NGO providing free, high-quality medical and surgical treatment to victims of war, landmines and poverty. At the same time, it promotes a culture of peace, solidarity and respect for human rights.
Since its founding in 1994, EMERGENCY has worked in 21 countries around the world, providing free medical care in accordance with its core principles of equality, quality and social responsibility. We do this in a sustainable way: by building healthcare facilities, training local personnel, and conducting search and rescue missions in the Mediterranean Sea.
As an affiliate, EMERGENCY UK has set out an exciting ambition to build on its success over the last three years. This includes a substantial growth in its income, with a particular focus on high value giving from philanthropists, trusts and other private donors. The aim is to implement the newly developed high value fundraising strategy, with a view to tripling current income levels from this source by securing high five and six figure gifts of both unrestricted and restricted income.
The purpose of the Senior Development Manager is to build and maintain a portfolio of high value donors and prospects through proactive networking, identifying cultivation opportunities and thoughtful stewardship. With a focus range of £100,000 and above, the position will develop long-term, strategic partnerships with existing and potential high value supporters, where relationships and their impact will be measured from both a financial and non-financial perspective.
The postholder must be able to work independently with minimal supervision and demonstrate a high degree of lateral thinking within a small but hard-working team.
Main activities:
1) To raise funds in the form of high value gifts (focusing on £100,000 and above) through a variety of methods, including regular face-to-face meetings, attending conferences and participating in other activities by implementing a comprehensive programme to identify, research, cultivate and solicit high value donors who have the potential for significant, multi-year giving.
In this context, the postholder will be required to spend a considerable amount of the working week out of the office travelling and meeting in person with potential donors and their representatives.
2) To manage and develop meaningful donor relationships, including with existing donors, by utilising a wide range of methods, including stewardship events and networking amongst existing donors and their contacts.
3) To actively participate in the implementation of the current high value fundraising strategy, leading change and adjusting plans based on experience and realistic assessments in order to meet pre-agreed targets. This includes supporting the ongoing development of all aspects of the strategy, such as the case for support, prospect research, donor recognition opportunities and individual donor development plans for high value donors and prospects.
4) To contribute to the efficiency and effectiveness of the team, taking a lead role in the annual planning and reporting process for high value donors, providing regular progress reports against income targets and ensuring high standards of accountability. This also includes ensuring written and electronic records of donors are maintained, in compliance with data protection legislation.
5) To represent, and act as an ambassador, for EMERGENCY UK at external events, promoting its work and values where and when possible.
Person specification:
- Senior level experience working with foundations, corporates, high and ultra-high net worth individuals, leading them from identification to giving annual and multi-year gifts at the high five and six-figure level
- Experience of working independently to identify and cultivate prospects and influencers who have the ability to make personal introductions to high and ultra-high net worth individuals
- Experience in implementing high value giving strategies and annual plans for high and ultra-high net worth individuals, including reporting on targets and KPIs
- Experience of identifying potential high value donors, qualifying prospects and managing/growing a high-level prospect pipeline
- Experience of working with restricted grant funding: submitting proposals, completing monitoring forms and reporting to donors
- Experience of working within the humanitarian and development sector is preferable
- Experience of working with multiple stakeholders in a complex, multi-cultural environment
- Experience of creating high-quality, high-level donor events and bespoke engagements
- Experience of using Salesforce or similar CRM products/fundraising databases
Essential skills:
- Excellent stakeholder and relationship management skills
- Ability to communicate complex themes and subjects in a compelling and engaging way in writing and verbally
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with an ability to motivate and engage high value donors and prospects in the work of EMERGENCY
- Strong understanding of restricted grant funding processes, including proposal development, monitoring, and reporting

Greater Change
Founded in 2018 by Alex McCallion and Jonathan Tan, Greater Change is an NGO providing cash grants to support people to overcome the financial barriers on their pathway out of homelessness using personalised budgets.
We partner with frontline charities and support workers who refer people to us who would benefit from our financial support. The personalised budgets (supported cash transfers) we provide are typically for rent deposits, ID documents, training courses etc.
On average, Greater Change spends £1,400 per individual and last year 85% of the people we supported sustained their move into stable housing, saving the public purse over £41,000 per person per annum.
Our goal is ultimately to use personalised budgets as a dignified and effective tool to end homelessness.

Philanthropy Manager
We are looking for an entrepreneurial, ambitious and relationship-driven Philanthropy Manager to help grow Greater Change’s income, impact, and profile. Reporting to the Head of Growth and working closely with the CEO, this is a hands-on role suited to someone who can be creative and structured.
You will lead key income streams across High Net Worth Individuals, Trusts and Foundations, and fundraising events, delivering high-quality proposals and thoughtful stewardship that strengthens long-term partnerships.
The ideal candidate will be someone who understands how we are maximising impact and cost-effectiveness. You will be able to clearly communicate how our work delivers meaningful outcomes.
Above all, we are looking for someone proactive and thoughtful, who is motivated to play a key role in scaling a high-impact, evidence-led solution to homelessness.
Main Responsibilities

Work closely with the CEO on philanthropic relationships, including supporting the Development Board’s engagement, meetings, and follow-ups.

Lead all trusts and foundation activity end-to-end, including prospect research, applications and producing reports, while tracking funding deadlines, maintaining a clear pipeline, and providing regular progress updates to the CEO and Head of Growth.

Prepare high-quality proposals, cases for support, presentations, and donor communications.

Co-lead on developing and maintaining corporate partnerships with the Head of Growth

Manage individual giving, with a focus on donor stewardship and growth.

Lead the planning and delivery of fundraising and stewardship events, including stewardship and fundraising events organised by the Greater Change and our Development Board

Supporting the Comms team to deliver donor communications across our newsletter and social media channels

Fundraising at BookTrust
As a charity, fundraising is central to BookTrust’s mission, enabling us to bring our work to life and reach more children through a diverse portfolio of income generation, including mixed models of trading and philanthropy.
You will join a friendly, supportive, and ambitious fundraising team working together to generate sustainable income that supports our mission through the funding of programmes and projects and ensures excellent stewardship of our donors. As part of our new strategy, we aim to grow our income significantly over the next five years. With current annual income of £12.4m and a strong base of long-term committed funding, we are well positioned to expand our work. As we expand our work and reach more children and families, developing new income streams is a key organisational priority. The Individual Giving function within the Fundraising team, where this role sits, has been tasked with growing income to £2 million by 2030. We will do this by improving our supporter experience and engagement, employing a test-and-learn strategy across a range of campaigns and being data-led in everything that we do.
Job Purpose
The Senior Individual Giving Officer plays a central role delivering the campaigns and plans that will achieve the Individual Giving programme income targets. The post holder, working closely with colleagues across BookTrust, will manage existing and test new Individual Giving campaigns and develop and test new fundraising products in order to generate income from new and existing supporters.

Key Responsibilities:
Programmes and projects
- Manage acquisition and retention campaigns including testing new audiences and channels.
- Deliver effective supporter journeys to ensure the highest possible standards of donor experience.
- End-to-end campaign management across the fundraising mix including legacies, mid value and in memory.
- Support the testing and development of new community and events fundraising opportunities.
- Work closely with and support the Individual Giving Lead to ensure all activity is delivered on time and to budget, contributing to annual income targets.
Relationships
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across marketing, digital, comms and across the organisation. Work closely with Supporter Services and CRM colleagues to ensure best experience for our supporters
- Work effectively with external suppliers and agencies, maintaining strong working relationships.
Budgeting, analysis and reporting
- Monitor and control income and expenditure against targets outlined in annual plans.
- Feed into quarterly forecasting and annual budget setting processes.
- Closely monitor campaign results, provide updates on performance and produce post-campaign analysis reports.
- Make recommendations to improve the performance of future campaigns based on evidence and data.
- Contribute to CRM development and update existing reporting mechanisms.
