What will I be doing?
Work in partnership with the Associate Director of Philanthropy to lead new philanthropic initiatives supporting the Translation and Innovation pillar of the More Research, Less Cancer campaign.
Manage a portfolio of prospects with the capacity to give £1m+, focusing on qualification, engagement, and stewardship throughout the full giving cycle. Drive consistent pipeline progress by securing donations and cultivating future support to strengthen CRUK's donor base.
Achieve agreed fundraising income and prospect cultivation targets and provide regular reporting and metrics against goals.
Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders-including academics, researchers, institutional leaders, and volunteer leaders - to develop and implement strategies for securing gifts of £1M+.

Principal Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Finance Officer to join our mental health charity, to support and deliver effective, efficient financial processes and compliance with financial regulations and data protection to ensure the smooth and effective running of the organisation.
The successful candidate will report to the Senior Operations Manager and will involve managing financial transactions and reconciliation, maintaining accurate project records, supporting the production of management accounts, costing new work, budgeting and reporting as well as overseeing payroll.
You will need to demonstrate strong analytical skills and a passion for supporting mental health research. Attention to detail, an administrative mind and a compassionate communicator are vital to this role as well as the ability to use your initiative and manage your own workload. Every day will be different, with the opportunity for you to develop your skills and support our projects.

Research in Practice brings together research evidence, practice wisdom and expertise from people’s lived experience. We do this by interpreting the latest research evidence, working with professionals across the sector to share practice wisdom, and listening to people with lived experience. We then work with experts to create learning opportunities and resources on relevant topics; tailored to the needs of individuals and organisations.
We are looking for a Senior Research and Development Officer who is passionate about evidence-informed practice to join our adult's team. The role demands a strong understanding of research and policy, and the ability to translate complex evidence into accessible learning materials. Strong leadership and communication skills are essential as is the ability to build collaborative relationships across and within organisations. Experience in co-production, research mobilisation, or working within academic or policy environments is valued.
The Senior Research and Development Officer leads a small team of committed Research and Development Officers developing and delivering high-quality learning resources in various formats. The post holder is responsible for scoping, commissioning, writing, editing, and quality assurance, and plays a key role in income generation through tenders and bids.
The role requires strong facilitation and delivery skills and experience designing and delivering workshops, webinars, and events for a range of audiences, including senior leaders. The successful candidate will be confident presenting, chairing, and leading sector-wide discussions.

As one of three Senior Strategy Managers in the team, you will lead major strategy projects, working directly with Executive Directors and Trustees.
We are seeking candidates with substantial strategy experience either in top-tier management consultancy or in-house strategy teams, who have led complex, cross-organisational projects and worked directly with senior executives and board members. About Breadwinners
Breadwinners is a multi-award-winning social enterprise and charity that supports young people seeking asylum and refugees to have their first work experience in the UK, selling organic baked goods. Since 2016, we have steadily grown, and we are looking for our first Senior Fundraising Manager to help us take the next step in our growth journey. Breadwinner's unique model provides work, training and personal mentors, so that young refugees can start and progress in their careers, using our platform as a stepping stone. We achieve this goal through three consecutive programmes, using our award-winning bread stalls in markets across London and Brighton and wholesale for socially-minded cafes and restaurants.
Over the last 7 years, we have made a significant impact in supporting over 744+ programme participants, with an impressive 93% reporting notable improvements in their overall well-being, 76% of our Breadwinners programme participants progress into work, further education or volunteering, and all this while minimising our Carbon Footprint by 20.5% through the sale of organic goods. This year, we are planning to double our impact with young refugees, with recently secured funding, new markets, and a focus on our wholesale model.

We’re looking for someone passionate about making a real difference in the lives of young refugees and people seeking asylum. The ideal candidate will bring a mix of strategic thinking, hands-on fundraising experience, excellent communication skills and a strong sense of purpose. You will be working directly with the Managing Director, forming a team with a part-time Fundraising Manager, in direct contact with our passionate Core team, Board of Trustees and volunteers to secure grant funding, and develop our corporate and major donors streams. You will help to drive the growth of Breadwinners and enable the team to deliver a bigger positive impact for young refugees new to the UK.

What the job involves
Our Events and Community Fundraising team raises vital funds for Prostate Cancer UK through a wide range of activities, events and challenges. Alongside our own flagship events, we recruit teams for some of the UK’s best-loved sporting events, including the TCS London Marathon, Great North Run and the London Landmarks Half Marathon. The team also organise our flagship walking event, March for Men, and our Tour de France themed cycling event, the Grand Depart Classic.
As Senior Sporting Events Executive, you’ll take the operational lead in delivering income across our third-party events programme, alongside project managing our team of London Marathon runners. You’ll manage at least one Events and Community Coordinator, supporting their development and ensuring the team delivers outstanding supporter care at every stage. You’ll also play a key role in spotting and developing new opportunities within the charity events market.
This is a hands-on role covering every aspect of event delivery; from leading project meetings, setting budgets and developing marketing plans, to crafting supporter communications, managing logistics and providing on-the-day event support. You’ll also oversee post-event processes such as remittance and thanking supporters, ensuring we maximise income and provide a first-class experience for every participant. Working closely with teams across the charity, you’ll help deliver a packed calendar of events and take the lead in coordinating our brilliant volunteers on event days.

After investing in our Philanthropy and Marketing capacity, we’ve grown fundraising income by 60% and added almost £4 million to SCF’s endowment since 2021. We’re about to launch a new 10-year strategy with ambitious plans to grow our endowment to £35 million by 2035 to significantly increase the funding we can provide our communities for generations to come.
This role will be key to our growth, particularly from gifts in Wills. We’re looking for someone passionate about delivering an outstanding donor experience that will ensure our supporters feel engaged, inspired and motivated to give through SCF to build stronger communities in Somerset.
We need someone who can confidently create and deliver fundraising strategies for growth, using data and insight to inform and evaluate their success. You’ll be methodical and analytical, confident balancing multiple workstreams and have superb attention to detail. And you’ll be a great communicator, able to effortlessly write clear and compelling copy that’s tailored to our audiences.
Responsibilities
- Lead SCF’s legacy fundraising programme, working closely with the Philanthropy Director and Senior Marketing Manager to create and deliver a legacy fundraising strategy.
- Lead on the creation and delivery of a stewardship framework to deliver an outstanding donor experience for SCF’s supporters and partners, including fundholders, corporate partners, charitable trusts, legacy pledgers and individual donors.
- Lead on ensuring the team are making best use of Salesforce to support effective portfolio management and reporting, and maintaining high-quality data.
- Lead on the delivery of our annual Fundholder Impact Reports, working collaboratively with the wider team including Finance and Programmes and embedding more efficient use of CRM and AI to support this.
- Work with our Senior Marketing Manager to create and deliver a high-quality stewardship events programme, including our Annual Celebration, donor visits to charities and research and insight events tailored to the interests of our supporters and partners.
- Work with the Philanthropy Director and Senior Philanthropy Manager to refresh and grow our mid-level giving programme, reviewing our existing donor base, embedding stronger donor journeys, and undertaking research and data analysis to explore new opportunities such as next-generation philanthropy.

About You
Can you use your expert media relations and proven line management skills to help put nature into recovery with one of the UK’s best-loved environmental charities?
We are small. but brilliant national media team creates billions of opportunities to ‘see’ our work in print, radio, online and on screen each year – from our commentary on Government policy to stories about our work on the ground. Our interviews, quotes, videos and press releases are used in national and international stories which are as varied as peatland recovery stories, climate resilience and red squirrel conservation to sea grass restoration and whale sightings. We regularly appear on BBC Countryfile, Springwatch, BBC Radio 4’s Today programme, and Channel 4 News as well as in the Guardian, tabloids and other national outlets. In 2024 alone, the team achieved c.36,000 mentions in the media with over 690 billion opportunities to be seen. This coverage ensured that we remain at the heart of the national conversation on why we need nature.
But we’re not standing still because the nature and climate crises demand greater and more urgent action. We’re therefore looking for a resourceful and strategic thinker who can exploit new opportunities for us to continue to raise our profile and use our communications and media profile to drive greater awareness of and engagement with the things that need to happen to halt and reverse nature declines.
This is a senior role and we’re looking for an experienced media manager with an excellent track record in media relations for high profile nature organisations, who can confidently deal with high-profile reactive media as well as developing and delivering evidence-based creative, innovative media strategies. You will be leading a small media team, so line management experience is essential to ensure the consistent delivery of high-profile, high-impact media activity, supervising the team’s research, writing and editing. Working alongside the Head of Media you will build an environment where your team can continuously develop to be their best and have space to innovate and find new channels to reach broader audiences with our messages. In particular, we are keen to do more to highlight the role of people power (community organising) in nature’s recovery.
You will have significant previous experience of generating compelling news stories and features, and ideally you will have been involved in publicising policy and campaigns. There is never a dull moment with us and you will need to thrive working in an extremely fast-paced environment where organisational skills, prioritisation and attention to detail are a must.

We are currently recruiting a Senior Partnership Executive to join our Partnerships & Philanthropy Team. Working closely with the existing Partnership Manager and team, your primary focus will be to sustain and grow income from existing and potential corporate partners by designing compelling and creative partnership proposals and effective stewardship.
You will work collaboratively across CHAS to craft innovative and persuasive proposals, provide outstanding account management and stewardship to current donors, and identify, research, and engage new prospects.
You'll also contribute to strategies to cultivate relationships with both current and potential donors and support the stewardship program to attract, cultivate and retain corporate partnership income.

About You:

- Organised with the ability to plan and prioritise a diverse workload, manage your own time and meet multiple deadlines under pressure.
