Working closely with the prison and their staff, Shannon Trust volunteers and mentors, this post will lead the delivery and development of our prison-based reading and numeracy programme, maximising peer opportunities for people in prison to learn to read.  

Ideally you will have some experience of prison settings underpinned by the ability to build relationships and possess personal qualities that include resilience, determination and a problem-solving approach. 

This role will be prison based, working 3 days per week. Title: Human Resources Lead.

Employer: Norfolk Rivers Trust (NRT).

Location: Office at Bayfield near Holt with opportunity for flexible working. Visits across Norfolk and surrounding catchments with mileage expenses £0.45 per mile.

Job term:  This is a permanent 0.6 FTE position. The appointment is subject to a six-month probationary period.

Hours of work: 22.5 hours over a minimum of three days between Monday and Friday. Occasional evening or weekend work may be required, for which time off in lieu can be taken. No overtime will be paid.

Annual leave entitlement: 25 days plus public holidays (pro rata for part time).

Salary: £36,874.00 - £41,019.00 (0.6 FTE) dependant on experience.

Pension: NRT offers a contributory pension scheme and will pay 9% of salary subject to 6% employee contribution.

About the HR Lead role

As Norfolk Rivers Trust’s first dedicated HR professional, the HR Lead will play a pivotal role in shaping and implementing effective people practices that align with the organisation’s culture, values, and strategic objectives. Collaborating closely with the Senior Management Team and Line Managers, the HR Lead will offer expert guidance and operational support across the entire employee lifecycle.

This standalone, hands-on position requires a proactive self-starter who is confident in establishing new processes and adaptable to the needs of a small but growing organisation. The role is diverse and dynamic, ranging from advising managers on complex employee matters, enhancing recruitment practices, updating policies, to leading wellbeing initiatives.

Above all, the HR Lead will be instrumental in nurturing the Trust’s positive, values-driven culture, making it an exceptional place to work. Acting as the central point of contact for all people related matters, the HR Lead will also support the Senior Management Team in developing and delivering a long-term people strategy.

Although standalone, access to an external professional HR sounding board, HR advice and link to employment law advice will be available.

Key duties and responsibilities

HR Policy and Compliance

• Develop, implement, monitor and maintain HR policies and procedures ensuring they comply with employment legislation and reflect best practice. 

• Ensure policies are communicated clearly and are accessible to all staff. 

• Regularly review policies to ensure alignment with the culture and strategic direction of the Trust. 

Employee Relations

• Provide guidance to managers on a range of employee relations matters including absence management, performance concerns, disciplinary and grievance processes, flexible working, and annual leave. 

• Ensure processes are legally compliant, fair, and consistent.

• Coordinate complex or sensitive employee relations casework in collaboration with line managers and external advisors where appropriate.

Line Manager Support

• Act as a key advisor to line managers, providing coaching, tools and resources to help them manage their teams effectively.

• Deliver training and guidance on key HR topics (e.g. performance management, recruitment best practice, probation and employee wellbeing).

Recruitment and Onboarding

• Manage the recruitment process, reviewing job descriptions, advertising vacancies, shortlisting applications, overseeing interview process.

• Ensure inclusive and equitable recruitment practices are followed. 

• Manage new starter onboarding, ensuring new starters have a positive and structured induction experience.

Employee Lifecycle Administration

• Oversee all HR administration, including issuing contracts, processing changes to employment and managing leavers. 

• Maintain accurate and up to date HR records and use NRT’s HR database to ensure compliance with data protection and GDPR requirements.

Performance and Development

• Coordinate the performance review process (including appraisal, probation and the annual staff survey), providing support to managers to ensure a consistent approach. 

• Develop and support the implementation of learning and development policy and initiatives, including career development plans and staff skills audits.

Systems and Payroll

· Implement and maintain a HR management system.

• Liaise with the Finance team to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing, including salary changes, benefits and statutory deductions to administer payroll and payroll records.

 HR Data and Reporting

• Produce HR data and reports (e.g. staff turnover, absence, diversity data) to feed into the management team and use data to make recommendations regarding future practice.

• Use HR data to identify trends and make recommendations for improving people management practices. 

Strategic HR Support

• Participate in the implementation of specific projects, procedures, and guidelines to help align the workforce with the strategic goals of the organisation (e.g. workforce planning, reward, and staff engagement). 

• Promote and drive delivery of the Trust’s equity, diversity, and inclusion priorities, through advice monitoring and collaboration. 

• Work with Senior Management Team to contribute to and drive HR strategy development and implementation, including reward strategy, recruitment and selection strategies, talent and succession planning, alignment between HR strategy and business goals, supporting change management processes.

Health, Safety and Wellbeing

• Collaborate with designated health and safety leads to develop and implement systems and procedures to create a safe working environment, drawing on specialist advice as appropriate.

• Ensure HR-related policies and processes reflect the organisation’s duty of care to staff, including wellbeing initiatives and support systems.

The Role

We are a mission-driven, innovative social mobility charity that believes a young person’s start in life shouldn’t limit their future. We work with state schools and colleges to develop and build their alumni and employee volunteer communities, helping young people ‘see who they can be’ and helping to open up genuine routes to previously gatekept sectors. The Services Division leads the delivery and growth of our care and support services and NHS and Local Authority partnership working, aligned with our corporate strategy.  The team are responsible for ensuring services meet quality standards, contractual requirements and provide great outcomes for people we support. They ensure that in areas where we are leading or delivering partnership working that we meet any contractual requirements and develop effective governance and oversight of this area of activity, including maintaining appropriate separation between our operational service delivery and that of the Strategic Partnership & Alliances Division. The Services Division is a large and constantly growing team being commissioned to deliver care and support services through funding by Local Authorities, the NHS (local and national) and other central government initiatives.

How you will make a difference

As a Head Of Area for Rethink Mental Illness, you will work as part of the London and South East Regional Services team. You’ll engage NHS Integrated Care Systems (ICSs) and Local Authorities, as well as engaging with government level strategic programmes, developing partnerships that align with our corporate strategy ‘working together to build communities that care’ You will ensure that we utilise the experience, expertise, and reputation of Rethink Mental Illness to help shape care and support services, change the way in which services are delivered through new partnerships and grow our service offer to improve the lives of people severely affected by mental illness in places we operate, and beyond.

The release of the NHS 10 Year Health Plan for England in 2025, titled ‘Fit For The Future,’ presents new opportunities to influence the government’s three major initiatives: transitioning care from hospitals to community settings, incorporating digital technology, and focusing on prevention rather than treatment. These objectives align with our Corporate Strategy and are pursued through our internal Mission Delivery Boards.

You’ll work with other people and agencies, in a joined-up way, so that people living with severe mental illness receive coordinated support. The improved outcomes we expect to see through the delivery of Communities that Care are focussed on:

This is a new senior leadership role created through Inclusion North’s restructure. It is central to how we rebuild our strategic presence in Yorkshire and Humber while ensuring strong, joined-up working across the Northeast.

You will lead high-level engagement across both regions, with a particular focus on Yorkshire and Humber. In this region, you will help Inclusion North reconnect, build strategic partnerships, and become a visible and valued voice in system-level spaces.

You will take a lead in representing Inclusion North across a range of regional spaces, including Communities of Practice, local authority-led forums, and, where appropriate, ICB-related groups. This means helping shape change, influence commissioning, and ensure that the voices of people with a learning disability, autistic people, and family carers are heard where decisions are made. You will also be expected to challenge constructively when systems fall short of inclusion, equity, or lived experience leadership.

You will line manage the Innovation and Impact Manager and the Good Life Collaborative Programme Lead. This includes overseeing how our delivery connects to system priorities, responds to emerging opportunities, and contributes to our financial sustainability. You will also provide strategic insight to support planning, funding, and future direction.

This is a leadership role for someone who can build trust, speak with credibility, and stand firm in their values. You will need the insight to understand how systems work, and the confidence to push for change when they do not work for the people they are meant to serve.

The Cross-regional Strategic Lead holds senior responsibility for regional engagement, system influence, and delivery oversight at a strategic level.

The role is anchored in Yorkshire and Humber, where you will need to be well-connected and regularly present. You will also work across the Northeast as part of a joined-up, cross-regional team.

Head of Campaigns & Sales

Learning on Screen is looking for an ambitious Head of Campaigns & Sales to drive our next stage of revenue growth. This is both a strategic and hands-on role: you will lead targeted, multi-channel campaigns while also engaging directly in the sales process to win new business and upsell existing customers.

From building and managing a strong pipeline to pitching, negotiating, and closing deals, you’ll ensure ambitious income targets are achieved and exceeded. Working closely with the Chief Revenue Generation Officer, you will lead a small team and align sales and marketing to maximise impact.

Success in this role will mean surpassing revenue targets, growing our customer base, securing high-value partnerships, delivering campaigns with measurable ROI, and strengthening retention so that existing members and customers remain engaged. What you will be doing 

• Sales growth – Deliver organisational revenue targets by driving new sales and upselling across membership, sponsorship, training, and partnerships, while supporting strong retention.
• Pipeline management – Build, track, and convert a robust pipeline of prospects and opportunities.
• Sales execution – Lead sales conversations, pitches, and negotiations through to closing deals.
• Campaign delivery – Design and deliver integrated, multi-channel campaigns (digital, events, outreach, social media, partnerships) that generate leads and conversions.
• Content and messaging – Oversee compelling, sales-focused content and communications that cut through the noise.
• Digital marketing and analytics – Use CRM, SEO/SEM, social media, and analytics to generate leads, track performance, and optimise ROI.
• Team leadership – Line manage the Business Development Officer and Marketing Assistant, setting clear priorities and motivating them to deliver results.
• Collaboration – Work with colleagues across Membership, Development, and Digital to maximise growth opportunities.
• Performance reporting – Report on revenue delivery, pipeline health, and campaign ROI to senior leadership.
• External profile – Represent Learning on Screen at events, conferences, and sector networks to raise visibility and generate sales.
