In this role, you’ll be responsible for:

Strategy, vision and impact [25%]

• Be at the forefront of leading Resurgo’s ‘big picture’ vision of a transformed society, empowering churches to transform young lives
• Build and implement a strategy for developing relationships with local referral agencies to ensure effective recruitment of young people onto the Spear programme
• Oversee the reporting of the Centre outcomes and ensure the Spear Programme is delivered in line with agreed targets

Leadership, line management and training [25%]

• Lead your team with confidence; spurring them on in Resurgo’s mission; invest in a team culture of excellence, belonging and fun
• Manage and develop the Lead Coach and Graduate Coach, using a coaching approach to invest in their growth and development. This includes weekly 1:1s, performance reviews and regular feedback
• Equip your team to drive change through a data informed approach, and keep them accountable to agreed targets for the Spear Programme

Relationship management [20%]

• Manage great relationships with a variety of stakeholders, including referrers, local businesses, donors, and your Board of Trustees
• Embed into your local church; working closely with your Spear Trustees and congregation, and actively participating in their mission and events
• Partner with the Spear Trustees and assist in implementing their funding strategy by helping to build corporate and donor relationships. For example, by hosting prospective donors in the Training Room

Delivery of the Spear Programme [20%]

• Support group and 1-1 coaching with numerous 16-24-year-olds: equipping them with practical work-ready skills and resilient mindsets
• Provide guidance to the Lead Coach in the training room when dealing with behavioural and safeguarding situations and upskill coaches with consistent coaching feedback
• Use a coaching approach to engage young people in challenging conversations that will enable them to take responsibility and over significant barriers to employment

Operations [10%]

• Liaise with relevant staff regarding site operations and work to resolve any issues as soon as possible, ensuring the office and training room are safe and tidy working spaces in line with health and safety policies

Since 2003, we have been harnessing the power of skiing & snowboarding to break down barriers, broaden horizons and address the biggest social issues facing underserved young people today.

The Programme Manager will deliver a personal development journey to young people using snowsports as the hook to engage those who are less likely to engage with mainstream provision. We do this in partnership with youth projects and youth service providers across London, running snowsports youth programmes from The Snow Centre, Hemel Hempstead.

This is a really exciting opportunity to play a key role in Snow Camp’s development in London. So, if you love working with young people and have solid experience delivering youth programmes, combined with a passion for snowsports – and if you are looking for a challenging and rewarding role working with a committed team of staff at Snow Camp and some amazing young people – this job could be the job for you! 

Experience of working successfully with underserved young people in a range of settings will be essential to the post. Furthermore, experience within a snowsports field and passion for supporting young people generally will be a huge advantage!

Project management, logistical skills, relationship management, communication and presentation skills will all make up the job. Along with youth work experience to deliver life-skills or group workshops to motivate young people to work towards meaningful goals – these will all make up the job.

This is a key post requiring at least 2 years’ experience involving the above skills, together with proven project management and budgeting experience.

Dog School plays an essential part of achieving positive change in the community; aiming to prevent the development of problem behaviours in dogs which may lead to relinquishment or euthanasia. Our teams provide positive, high quality, welfare friendly advice on dog training and behaviour during our fun, educational classes. Using only reward-based methodology, the Dog School aim is that each dog leaves the school with the ability to follow basic cues and behave well in everyday settings.

Working alongside, and under the supervision of the Head Coach, you will help to organise and teach a minimum of 15 dog training classes per week (both online and in-person) to the public, where necessary providing support on 1 to 1 basis to participants who may be struggling with specific training elements. You will also assist with all administrative duties and, acting as a Dogs Trust ambassador, you will promote Dog School in the local area through networking with relevant local businesses and targeting potential local events.

With an understanding of dog training along with excellent communication you be self-motivated with huge amounts of energy and strong interpersonal skills. You'll be passionate about helping dog owners better understand their pets with the aim of encouraging a positive long-term dog-owner relationship and will be capable of dealing with them in a sensitive, effective and polite manner. You will also need a full manual driving licence.

We want our coaches to be empowered and able to lead classes and work alone in the future, therefore we provide lots of opportunities for ongoing development. All team members are developed towards their APDT (Association of Pet Dog Trainers) assessment and ongoing membership is paid for. As an Employment Coach with our Employcare Project you will be supporting unpaid carers living in Manchester; providing support and coaching in order for them to re-enter paid employment or voluntary roles.  The successful candidates will manage a small caseload of carers and provide them with 1:1 support, helping them overcome barriers to employment and training.  You will be responsible for supporting them through every stage of their journey, enabling participants to address their barriers and realise their aspirations.

The Senior Business Partner for Learning & Development (L&D) is responsible for working closely with the Head of People and Culture to develop and manage a sector-leading programme of organisational learning, development and training, and to develop effective strategies to ensure that the Trust is a high-performance, people-centred learning organisation.

This role will support the Trust to develop and retain the best talent by instilling a culture of high performance and continual improvement, delivering high impact and developing individual and collective expertise to meet the scale of the challenges ahead.

As an experienced L&D professional, the post holder will focus on the learning and development of early career professionals, managers, and leaders, working across all departments and all levels of seniority. The role will focus on supporting talent mapping, succession planning, internal progression, mandatory training and driving the Trust’s commitment to the learning and development of our people, focusing on introducing a best-in-class apprenticeship programme for the conservation sector, as well as developing a Trust-wide coaching culture.

Driving the operational delivery of the L&D strategy, the role is responsible for embedding culture, values, performance, and impact through high-quality learning and development, working closely with the Head of People and Culture and with other Heads of Department to ensure a Trust-wide drive to become an ambitious learning organisation and employer of choice.

About the role 

This vacancy is for a University Access Officer to work in the West Midlands across up to 4 schools (maximum) along with working remotely; exact school location(s) to be confirmed at interview. Our schools are shown on a map of The Access Project schools on our website. Access to own transport or reliable transport would be ideal. The University Access Officer works with school staff at all levels, volunteers, and with the rest of The Access Project’s team to ensure that the delivery of the programme is optimised. 

Role responsibilities 

Some of our schools undertake our Accelerate model, which includes mentoring and coaching. Other schools also have tutoring included on our Accelerate Plus model. Depending on the model in the schools you are based in, role responsibilities will include: 

Accelerate 

• Engage with students in school and enrol them onto the programme
• Assess student progress towards being able to make successful university applications
• Upload information onto the Salesforce database (training is provided)
• Support the Volunteering team with the management of volunteer coaches to ensure they have a positive experience of the programme
• Work with school staff to ensure their cooperation and timely completion of activities contributing to the smooth running of the programme
• Chair and present at school meetings with Senior Management to report on programme progress.

About the role 

This vacancy is for a University Access Officer to work in London across up to 3 schools along with remote working. Our schools are shown on a map of The Access Project schools on our website.

The University Access Officer works with school staff at all levels, volunteers tutors, and with the rest of The Access Project’s team to ensure that the delivery of the programme is optimised.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We have an exciting opportunity for a Head of Compliance, Risk and Audit to join the wider Compliance, Audit and Risk team at SIG! You will have the overall responsibility of keeping participants, residents, and staff safe. The team manages the development, monitoring, and reporting of several areas including but not limited to accidents, incidents, and near misses (AINMs), safety reviews, safeguarding, whistleblowing, complaints, policy and procedure, health and safety, internal audit, business continuity planning and data protection.

As The Head of Compliance, Risk and Audit, you are the lynchpin of the wider team, linking strategic vision with solid and accountable implementation. You will be responsible for developing the team in the broad space of compliance as well as in their own areas of specialism, ensuring that a transparent and accountable compliance framework is implemented and embedded in line with regulatory and legislative change.

Working Pattern: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. At least 2 days per week in central office (Islington) and our services which are in and around London, Brighton & Hove, Kent, Havering, Bedford, Luton, Nottingham, and Liverpool.

ABOUT YOU

OVERVIEW OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Line Management and leadership throughout employee lifecycle this includes; Recruitment, Onboarding, Inductions, training, support and supervision, relations, wellbeing support, and other areas.
• Formalise Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) and Service Level Agreements (SLA’s) to monitor objectives.

Safeguarding, Audit, and Compliance

• Oversee the Safeguarding infrastructure, deputising for the designated safeguarding lead (DSL) as necessary. Oversee complaints and other processes and develop these to ensure they are safe, fair, equitable, and fit for purpose.
• Support services with commissioner led quality assurance framework (QAF) inspections and those registered with the CQC to maintain their portfolios and ensure they are ready for inspection at any time to retain their registrations.
• Promote and support a positive whistleblowing culture, assist Champions, People and Culture, managers and the audit and compliance team on concerns raised and ensuring the whistleblower is protected.

Reporting and Analysis

• Attend and develop AINMs review meetings for maximum impact in terms of positive safety culture. Ensure the lessons learned from AINMs reviews, safety reviews, and safeguarding concerns are shared and feedback loops are closed.
• Review the collation and analysis of AINMs and Safeguarding alerts, developing the Audit and Compliance team, as well as other operational teams in reflection and root cause analysis

Data Protection

• Monitor the use of external data protection and compliance partners to ensure we maintain ICO requirements and maintain our Data Security Protection Toolkit Certification.
• Monitor and ensure integrity in document control, policy, and procedures as they are developed, reviewed, and published.
• Understand and support an Information Security infrastructure alongside additional teams in the organisation and support Managers and teams with training and challenges where necessary.

KEY CRITERIA

What we are looking for:

• Proven experience in complaints and incident handling, safeguarding, data protection, and audits

ABOUT THE ROLE

ABOUT THE SERVICE

Synergy, Brent is a Housing Related Support (HRS) Service for a range of vulnerable people who have been or are at risk of homelessness. The age eligibility criteria for the service is adults between the ages of 18 to 60, who are identified to have low/medium support needs. Some of the needs we support are:

• Single homeless between ages of 18 to 60
• Socially excluded individuals
• Ex-Offenders
• People with substance misuse
• Mental Health (Low)
• Learning disability (Low/Medium)
• Women who have come from domestic abuse environments and situations who may need low level support as part of their resettlement following a move on from a refuge or other safe domestic abuse supported accommodation.

OVERVIEW OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

LINE MANAGEMENT/LEADERSHIP

• Provide leadership to employees throughout the employee life cycle. This includes but is not limited to; Recruitment, onboarding, inductions, probation reviews, support and supervision, employee relations, performance, learning and development, staff wellbeing and support, grievances, sickness, disciplinaries, retention and other areas which fall within the employee lifecycle.
• Hold regular, high quality one to ones and team meetings, support effective teamwork and communication. Support with ensuring a culture where constructive challenge is welcomed, and conflict is managed supportively in line with relevant policies and procedures.
• Build and manage effective relationships across the organisation and ensure consistent communication, whilst upholding SIG’s values, policies, and procedures. Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to drive ongoing improvement to the service in line with best practice.

SERVICE DELIVERY

• Support the Service Manager with the day-to-day operational delivery of the service and work directly with colleagues, residents, participants, and other stakeholders to provide a high-quality, holistic service which meets the presenting needs of all relevant stakeholders.
• Ensure service responsibilities and requirements are carried out effectively. This includes but is not limited to; welfare checks, risk assessments, support sessions, safeguarding checks, training and development, and other responsibilities required for effective service delivery.
• Support the Service Manager to ensure the service and team meet and exceed Key Performance Indicators, and work in line with professional codes of conduct.
• In conjunction with the Service Manager, facilitate a program of continuous improvement in an environment where residents and participants are cared for, supported, and have access to resources they need to achieve positive and sustainable outcomes.
• Empower residents and participants to make decisions to take control over their lives, by creating an enabling environment.

RISK MANAGEMENT, INFORMATION MANAGEMENT AND CASE RECORDING

• Follow the relevant risk assessment and management procedures, share any relevant information with partner agencies as appropriate.
• Ensure all case recording, and information is accurately recorded in a timely manner, ensuring electronic records are protected in line with GDPR, and kept up to date and written to a high standard.
• Alongside the Service Manager, champion, and act as a point of reference for safeguarding concerns within the service(s). Ensure all staff attend relevant safeguarding and training and use knowledge to coach and advise the team.

PROPERTY AND HOUSING MANAGEMENT

• Create and manage a welcoming, psychologically informed home environment for residents and participants, ensuring a continuous focus on safety, health, and wellbeing.
• Ensure the accommodation in which residents live is maintained to a high standard, in line with SIG’s property standards and meets all legal and statutory health and fire safety requirements to operate safely, effectively, and efficiently.
• Ensure all repairs and maintenance issues are correctly reported and managed through to completion.

FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT

• Provide support in setting the service’s budget and reviewing monthly management accounts; manage set budgets effectively and ensure resources are maximized.
• Maintain financial management within the service, including but not limited to, invoice management, arrears management, management of petty cash, and expense claims.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

• Contract Management and Internal Auditing; Ensure due diligence is carried out and records are well maintained.
• Administration duties will vary, including operating online systems and ensuring correct processes are followed alongside GDPR and confidentiality.
• Other duties may include but are not limited to, maintaining clean and tidy environments, removing rubbish, ordering supplies, arranging in house events and activities and other general on-site duties.

Other responsibilities than those described above may be required to be undertaken from time to time and will be expected to be performed to as long as it is within the capability and level of the position. 

KEY CRITERIA

What we are looking for:

• Understanding and/or experience of working with people of complex backgrounds, ex-offenders, mental health, substance misuse, challenging behaviours
• Experience of working with and engaging with diverse groups of people from varying backgrounds
• IT Proficiency, including Microsoft Office, and the ability to navigate and learn new case management systems and other types of organisational software
• Understanding and/or practical knowledge of the social and societal marginalisation that can be attached to people with mental health issues, addiction, exploitation, homelessness and within the criminal justice system
• Ability to promote the service and provide outreach-based provision, with an ability to liaise and work effectively in partnership with stakeholders
• Ability to follow organisational policies and process in line with external governance

What we would like, but not essential:

• Previous experience in people management and development
• Understanding, knowledge, and/or practical application of key legislation – Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion, Mental Health, Criminal Justice, Social Care, and Housing, and Health, Safety and Environment
• Understanding of Housing Management, including voids and evictions
