Summary

The National Safeguarding Team provides professional safeguarding advice to the Church of England on matters of national policy as part of its wider transformation plan, which includes the development and implementation of national policy, training, quality assurance and audit, and work with survivors. The national safeguarding team also leads complex casework and supports dioceses in their safeguarding of children and adults.

An investigation by the Independent Inquiry Child Sexual Abuse conducted in 2019 has highlighted some areas for improvement in the Church of England Safeguarding Structure and Practices. This investigation reviewed the extent to which the Church of England and the Church in Wales protected children from sexual abuse in the past. It also examined the effectiveness of current safeguarding arrangements. A public hearing on these specific areas was held in 2019. The report, published in 2020, also drew on the previous two case studies on the Anglican Church, which related to the Diocese of Chichester and Peter Ball. In addition to recommendations made in the case studies, IICSA made eight recommendations in this report, covering areas such as clergy discipline, information-sharing and support for victims and survivors.

The Redress Scheme project is part of the Church of England's Safeguarding Programme, which aims to embed structure, quality assurance and continuous improvement in line with its Safeguarding principles. Following the Church of England's recently approval of a comprehensive redress scheme for survivors of Church-related abuse, the project is now moving into the implementation phase, and we are looking for a new member of the team to help us prepare for the opening the Scheme.

The role will work with multiple NCI departments involving, for example, HR & Payroll, Finance & Resources, Legal, among many others as well as Safeguarding Bishops and Safeguarding teams of the Church of England in support to the mission of the Church of England and this Programme's in particular, as well as external stakeholders, including the media.

To assist this project, there is a requirement for a Comms & Engagement Manager role to be performed by a specialist with relevant experience and expertise. The role will be primarily focused on communications and media, with an emphasis on working under public scrutiny.

The purpose of this role is to lead on influencing and enabling effective communications relationships at national level to effectively roll out the delivery of the Redress Scheme, playing a key role in this high-profile project, and to act as a representative of the organisation with a detailed knowledge of the project's history and objectives.

• Campaign & communication management.
• Engagement with relevant external stakeholders (diocesan comms teams, safeguarding teams, Archbishops' Council, House of Bishops) at the most direct and senior level to gain access to necessary information and answer specific queries.

The Research Manager at Healthwatch Hounslow will be an experienced manager of community-focused projects or programmes.

You will be comfortable with all aspects of research – from scoping, to desk research, to fieldwork, to analysis and writing reports. You will be a clear and confident communicator, whether producing concise, engaging content such as reports, or resenting/speaking in meetings or at events.

The Diocese of Carlisle is looking for a Programme Manager (Maternity Cover) who will:

• Be the Programme Manager for The Cumbrian Way programme including:

o Working closely with the Programme Director to ensure all aspects of programme management are undertaken

o Accountability for the adherence to the Programme Management Office’s programme management systems to assess and ensure budget, risks, issues, progress and impact are reported and escalated in a timely and appropriate manner

o Coordinating the project managers across the programme

o Oversee the management of the Projects and Programme Board and annual reporting

o Have oversight of all aspects of the programme in order to make connections and insights into the work as it progresses.

• Support the Church Planting Consultant with project management of the Church Plant workstream, including:

o maintaining & updating project plans/timelines

o advising and collaborating on project communications

o reporting on agreed outcomes and impact by collecting, collating and presenting information as part of project/programme reporting and monitoring & evaluation

o meeting with the church plant consultant on a regular (at least monthly) basis.

• Oversee the programme management of all areas of the Reaching Deeper SDF funded programme
• Be principal point of contact and manage the relationship with the diocesan research partner, including managing payment drawn downs, agreed pieces of work/briefs and outputs to be delivered.

Job Purpose 

To support Habitat GB’s vision of a decent home for everyone, the organisation has recently completed a strategic review, resulting in a new National Strategy and an organisational restructure, to ensure the organisation is able to deliver the Strategy impactfully, efficiently and effectively. 

As a result, a new team has been formed, which will focus on developing and delivering high quality programmes in England, Wales and Scotland. The Director of Programme Delivery will be accountable for consolidating and supporting the new team to flourish. And for co-leading (with the Director of Retail) the development and performance of one out of two Strategic Goals, to: ‘Develop, pursue and share innovative solutions to increase access to decent, safe, affordable homes for communities across Great Britain’. 

Key responsibilities include the design, delivery and performance of Habitat GB’s domestic programmes and to support the effectiveness of a joined-up UK housing advocacy strategy. The Director of Programme Delivery will also act as an external representation on behalf of Habitat GB, working with the National Director, Housing Advocacy Manager and others on influencing & engagement opportunities, including the development of thought leadership to increase Habitat GB’s influence on policy & decision makers, increasing credibility with partners, communities and other collaborators. The role will also work collaboratively across Habitat GB and the Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI) network, including working with the Fundraising & Partnerships team to support high quality partnerships and strategic relationships. 

As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, the Director of Programme Delivery works to ensure the impact, sustainability, diligence and productivity of the organisation, including engaging in organisational transformation, within the framework of a values-led approach to people and culture approach. 

Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities: 

Strategic development and programme delivery: 

• Accountable for co-leadership (with the Director of Retail) of the strategic leadership, development and performance of Habitat GB’s Strategic Goal: ‘Develop, pursue and share innovative solutions to increase access to decent, safe, affordable homes for communities across Great Britain’. 

• Responsible for overseeing and ensuring the high-quality design, delivery and performance monitoring of programmes under this strategic goal, including Habitat GB’s flagship Empty Spaces to Homes programme which aims to provide solutions to Great Britain’s critical affordable housing need through the conversion of empty commercial and retail properties into homes and through researching, advocating and collaborating in coalition with others to foster a wider uptake of the Empty Spaces to Homes approach. 

• Working in collaboration with other teams, responsible for the delivery and performance of other GB-based programmes and the development of new strategic initiatives. 

• Source and manage contractors/consultants to work on individual projects in line with our procurement and finance policies. Be responsible for effective contract management including quality assurance of their work and ensuring value for money. Proactively work with the Senior Leadership Team to ensure the organisation prioritises and delivers successfully across the 5 Strategic Enablers, including: taking proactive leadership to deliver high quality programmes and projects; increasing capacity and capability for Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning; technical and thought leadership; increasing visibility and leadership of our mission in GB; ensuring we are a thriving organisation; and championing One Habitat approaches.

• Work with the Senior Leadership Team to oversee the active management of the National Strategy through the co-development of a new Performance Framework for the organisation, ensuring it is robust, strategically aligned, and balances prioritisation and focus with innovation and adaptability. Represent relevant areas of performance in governance forums, including Board level. 

• Work closely with the Director of Finance, Operations & Compliance to track performance, and contribute to high quality reporting, income forecasting and budget management. 

Leadership and management: 

• Lead a high performing and ambitious team, inspired to implement and grow the strategy and with a core focus on positive impact for Habitat GB’s community and strategic partners. 

• Develop, lead and focus the Programme Delivery Team, its budget, activities and performance, to ensure the delivery against funding and impact targets.

Person profile: 

• Expert knowledge of programme and project design, delivery and monitoring. It would be helpful (but not essential) if this was in a thematic area related to Habitat GB’s vision and mission of ‘working in partnership to create housing solutions, and break down the barriers to decent, safe and affordable homes for all - in Great Britain and around the world’. 

• Proven track record of developing and leading innovative programme or project delivery strategies, community-development or partnership strategies which deliver ambitious targets. 

• Experience of working in a similar organisation, collaborating across teams and operating in a highly effective way across a diverse, networked structure. 

• Significant and successful experience in senior management roles, encompassing strategic management and team leadership. 

• Strong understanding and experience of complex organisational change projects, including the ability to support new teams to develop and thrive. 

• Strong budget and financial management skills.

About the role:

We’re building a Transport Solutions Team that works flexibly across all the tools in our delivery kit – from grants and innovation pilots to research, partnerships, and commercial interventions. Our growing portfolio includes flagship projects tackling challenges such as inclusive EV charging infrastructure, complex community transport needs, and large-scale research like the National Centre for Accessible Transport.

We are now recruiting for three Transport Solutions Managers, one permanent position and two 24 month fixed-term contracts. These roles will lead the design and delivery of high-impact work focused primarily on accessible electric vehicle (EV) charging – a key priority for the Foundation. This is a pivotal role that combines technical understanding, programme delivery, and stakeholder leadership, and is designed to work flexibly across our matrix structure.

While your core focus will be on EV charging, you also may be expected to lead and/or contribute to other transport projects across the transport themes.

This is an opportunity to join a collaborative, purpose-led team driving change in the transport system for disabled people, and to work on some of the most complex and impactful projects in the sector.

What you will be doing:

• Lead the design and delivery of accessible EV charging initiatives, working closely with Programme Directors and partners across government, industry and the charity sector.
• Scope, commission and manage projects related to EV charging – such as pilots, commercial partnerships, research studies or funding opportunities – ensuring alignment to strategic priorities.
• Bring technical and market understanding of EV charging (e.g. standards, installation, interoperability, user experience, accessibility requirements) to shape the Foundation’s approach in this space.
• Manage end-to-end delivery of specific initiatives, including planning, budgeting, due diligence, contracting, risk management, and governance reporting.
• Use insight, evidence and stakeholder engagement to shape new programmes of work and ensure delivery reflects the needs of disabled people.
• Work flexibly across our matrix team, contributing to projects or funding rounds outside your own portfolio as needed, and supporting colleagues with specialist input or delivery resource.
• Build and maintain relationships with key external stakeholders, including OZEV, DfT, BSI, chargepoint operators, local authorities, disability organisations and industry experts.
• Collaborate across the Foundation, including with the Insight & Evaluation, Finance and Communications teams, to ensure high-quality delivery, learning and visibility of our work.
• Bring and apply knowledge in key areas as accessible transport, disability, inclusive innovation, grant making or systems change.
• Support the development and continuous improvement of our delivery models, funding mechanisms and ways of working.

Your experience:

Must haves:

• Experience managing complex projects, ideally in EV charging, transport, or energy sectors.
• Ability to translate technical or policy insight (e.g. standards, user experience, accessibility, or engineering considerations) into practical delivery and funding approaches.
• Experience managing projects or funding opportunities from inception through to delivery, ideally across multiple partners or suppliers.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, with the ability to work effectively across government, industry, and the charity sector.
• Excellent organisational and project management skills, with the ability to deliver multiple, complex workstreams to deadlines.
• Strong analytical capability, able to interpret data, research and qualitative insight to inform recommendations and decision-making.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to produce high-quality reports, business cases, and presentations for senior audiences.
• Confident IT literacy, including Microsoft Office (particularly Excel and PowerPoint).

Nice to haves:

• Understanding of EV charging systems, standards (e.g. PAS 1899), and market dynamics.
• Experience working alongside government, local authorities, or industry partners on projects.
• Familiarity with innovation or funding mechanisms such as pilots, challenge funds, co-design, or commissioning frameworks.
• Understanding of wider disability and transport issues, such as the social model of disability and key accessibility barriers.
• Experience supporting or line managing others in a team or project context.

Mission 44 supports young people to boost aspirations, achieve academically, and provide resources and industry exposure to access great STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) careers. Our motorsports engagement strategy, which sits under our global STEM strategy, seeks to accelerate sector-wide change in motorsport within the next three years. It leverages Mission 44’s convening power and our MSc Motorsports Scholarship programme to deliver measurable change across employers and increased access for young people from all underrepresented backgrounds to exciting roles in motorsports.

As the Senior Impact Manager, Motorsports Engagement, you will play a crucial role in developing and maintaining strategic relationships with motorsports employers to support young people from underrepresented backgrounds into early career opportunities. Working closely with Formula 1 and its teams, as well as a broader network of STEM-related organisations across the UK, US, and Brazil, you will lead collaboration efforts to influence inclusive recruitment and retention practices in motorsports, and enhance career access and progression. With a strong external focus, you will also support Mission 44’s fundraising goals, representing the organisation at high-profile events, stewarding key corporate accounts, and helping secure investment in our programmes and mission.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

DELIVERY OF MOTORSPORTS ENGAGEMENT STRATEGY (70%)

• Play a key role in the development and execution of Mission 44’s new Motorsports strategy, to create access opportunities for young people from underrepresented backgrounds within STEM sectors, particularly motorsports.

• Build trusted relationships with key motorsport employers and stakeholders, including F1, F1 teams, FIA, and relevant STEM employers, to drive sector-wide change, focusing on increasing demand for underrepresented talent, adoption of inclusive recruitment practices, and awareness of Mission 44’s work and impact.

• Apply and continually improve the convening strategy and toolkits to Mission 44’s STEM work, helping determine when and how convening can most effectively support our goal of inspiring and supporting young people (aged 14–30) in the UK and US to access careers in STEM and motorsport.

• Collaborate with the Engagement Directorate, nonprofit partners and corporates to design and deliver high-impact STEM career experiences at Formula 1 races and other key events - some of which will be international - ensuring alignment with Mission 44’s objectives and offering young people meaningful exposure to career pathways.

EXTERNAL REPRESENTATION AND ENGAGEMENT (20%)

• Represent Mission 44 at Motorsport industry events, donor meetings, clearly articulating our global mission and impact with tailored messaging for each audience.

• Support cultivation and stewardship efforts as requested by the Engagement Directorate, engaging prospective donors and prioritising meetings that deliver the greatest strategic value.

• Advocate for Mission 44 at high-profile events and stakeholder meetings, championing greater industry engagement and driving impact.

• Support our storytelling and communications efforts to highlight success and progress while spotlighting challenges to potentially shape future advocacy.

MONITORING AND LEARNING (10%)

• Support the Head of Impact, STEM Pathways and the Head of Strategy and Learning to collect key impact data.

• Contribute to evaluation processes, seek and develop opportunities to raise awareness of Mission 44’s work to create early career pathways for young people.

• Assist with annual reporting and provide input into fundraising and communications materials where relevant.

ABOUT YOU: SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

ESSENTIAL 

• Experience working in the motorsports sector and/or F1, with a strong network of connections. 

• Knowledge of inclusive recruitment and retention practices.

• Strong understanding of early career pathways into STEM careers, particularly into the motorsport sector, and of barriers to access for people from underrepresented backgrounds.

• Strong expertise in programme design and implementation.

As our Operations & Executive Support Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in keeping the organisation running smoothly. You’ll work at the heart of our Corporate Function, ensuring our systems, people, and processes are efficient and aligned with our mission. There is no line management initially but if the team grows, we will discuss this with you.

Reporting directly to the CEO, you’ll provide both operational leadership and executive support - helping the CEO and wider team stay focused on impact. You’ll also work with our Head of Programmes to ensure coordination across the charity.

This is an opportunity to join Refuge as a Service Manager to lead on the delivery of high-quality services to the women and their children living in our refuges and survivors of domestic abuse supported by our community outreach service.

We are recruiting for Service Manager who is passionate about supporting survivors who are impacted by domestic abuse and other gender-based crimes.  This is a multifaceted, fast paced, and exciting role where you will join our team in Derby to lead on the delivery and development of high-quality refuge and outreach services for survivors of domestic abuse and other gender-based crimes.

Our service provision in Derby includes culturally specific service for South Asian women as well as a specialist multiple disadvantage support worker who support survivors facing enhanced needs.

The post holder will provide line management and support to the accommodation based and the outreach service staff. This will include providing supervision on complex and high-risk cases, overseeing operational emergencies, and ensuring high standards of casework. You will also ensure that all service users in refuges and the outreach service always receive a high-quality support service in line with Refuge’s policies and procedures.

The Service Manager will lead on the delivery of the multiagency aspect of work, working jointly with the Refuge teams and wider stakeholders to deliver best services to the survivors.

Candidates must have proven experience of providing direct emotional and practical support to vulnerable people, managing, and motivating staff, managing casework as well as working within multiagency setting.  In addition, you must have an excellent knowledge of domestic abuse and other gender-based violence and its impact on survivors.  

You will have knowledge of relevant criminal and civil law legislation, as well as Housing and Health and Safety legislation.   

As member of the management team, you will be required to participate in an out-of-hours on call management service.

The service manager will be responsible for ensuring that contractual and other funding requirements are met fully, this includes ensuring that the services operate within the allocated budget and that Refuge’s high-quality standards are maintained. The role may involve visiting potential sites and contributing to the establishment of new services in conjunction with the development team.

The job involves working closely with staff that support survivors and their children who are experiencing domestic abuse and other gender-based violence.
