About the National Sheep Association (NSA)

The National Sheep Association (NSA) is a membership charity supporting and promoting sheep farming throughout the UK. NSA delivers national and regional projects, events and partnerships to support sheep farmers, influence best practice and strengthen the sector.

Purpose of the role

The Project Manager (Maternity Cover) will be responsible for the management and delivery of NSA-led and NSA-linked technical/research/innovation related projects during the maternity leave period of the substantive postholder.

Following an internal review of responsibilities, a number of non-project duties have been redistributed across the staff team. As a result, this maternity cover role has a clear and deliberate focus on project delivery, coordination and reporting.

Key relationships with: All NSA staff, particularly the NSA Chief Executive, NSA Operations Director and NSA Management Team, as well as key NSA committees, groups and individuals delivering NSA-led/NSA-linked projects and relevant research and development contacts.

Management responsibilities: The NSA Project Manager is part of the NSA management team, which meets regularly to ensure effective internal communication and decision-making. There are no line management responsibilities within this role.

Job role

The postholder will:

Project delivery and coordination

• Manage and deliver a defined portfolio of ongoing and fixed-term NSA projects, including externally funded and partnership projects.
• Ensure projects have clear objectives, deliverables, timelines and budgets, and are delivered in line with agreed commitments.
• Coordinate contributions from NSA staff, committees, researchers, consultants and external partners.
• Monitor progress, manage risks and issues, and escalate where appropriate.

Project portfolio management

• Maintain clear records of project activity, outputs and deadlines.
• Ensure project financial requirements are met and communicated with the NSA finance team, (both existing projects and any new project developments).
• Ensure compliance with funder, partner and governance requirements.
• Support the development and refinement of project plans where required.

Stakeholder and partnership working

• Act as the primary project contact for assigned partners and funders.
• Represent NSA at project meetings and relevant external forums (online and in person).
• Support positive working relationships that reflect NSA’s values and strategic objectives.

Reporting and governance

• Contribute project updates to the management team discussions.
• Prepare input for quarterly Board reports relating to project activity.
• Maintain documentation to ensure continuity and effective handover. Events and knowledge exchange (project-linked)
• Work with colleagues to ensure project outputs are linked into NSA events and activities where appropriate.
• Attend relevant NSA events and meetings to support project delivery and profile-raising.

A new role, the Finance Manager is responsible for leading all aspects of the charity's day-to-day finances, contracts and risk management. As a member of the senior leadership team, they will support the CEO with strategic planning. A key part of the role will include financial planning and administrative support for the charity’s fundraising efforts as part of a £6.5m conservation and renovation programme. They will lead the preparation for, and presentations at the charity’s Board and related finance committees.

The postholder will ensure that the charity’s budget and out turn are closely monitored and that established financial controls, spanning the procurement to payments cycle, are firmly adhered to. They will lead budget setting, forecasting, and financial reporting (including management of the external audit and production of the annual report and accounts) and will support wider work programme-planning for the charity, setting the foundations for financial success and sustainability. In addition, the postholder will act as the central finance liaison with the Inns of Court of Inner and Middle Temple – TCT’s principal funders – as well as with other stakeholders, donors and cross-departmentally.

CIMA, ACCA or ACA qualified accountant

Experience in a senior/ management financial position in a charity/ not for profit

Experience of managing cash and investments.

Effective communications skills both written and oral

Reading Reboot is being developed to address the reading crisis and restore a love of reading for young people in Year 8, in communities facing the greatest disadvantage. This is an opportunity to lead a flagship national programme with the potential to shape future investment in school libraries, in a supportive, mission-driven team culture within a small but influential charity. 

The Reading Reboot programme will establish librarian-led social book clubs in over 100 under-funded secondary school libraries across the UK and reach more than 6,000 young people directly, alongside librarians, senior leaders and wider school communities. Reading Reboot places school librarians at the heart of delivery, combining new book stock, inspiring author engagement, appealing library spaces, and a robust evaluation to evidence impact and inform future national roll-out.   

The Project Manager will lead on development and delivery, working closely with the CEO, a Project Board and external evaluation team to ensure the programme meets its objectives on time, within budget and to a high quality. They will recruit and coordinate schools and librarians, work with partners and funders, and ensure that learning and impact are captured and shared across the sector. Building strong relationships with all stakeholders, the Project Manager will be the main point of contact for the programme and will support the CEO and Project Board with timely updates, papers and participation in meetings. Successful candidates will have extensive and demonstrable experience of project management in schools or youth settings. Experience of training development and delivery will be an advantage.

Reporting to the Director of Partnerships, this exciting new role offers the opportunity to support NHP's internal expertise on Housing; ensure we have strong partnerships with Housing Providers and grow the offers of housing from Housing Providers across the UK, to support our growth as a charity. Essentially with more housing we can establish more Local House Projects (LHPs) and expand those that already exist, and in turn support more young people.

Working closely with senior leadership team (CEO, Director of Practice and Director of Partnerships), this role will lead on developing our first Housing Strategy and ensure we have the internal knowledge, expertise and capacity to grow our housing partnerships.

Key Responsibilities 

General 

• Lead the development and implementation of NHP’s Housing Partnership Strategy in collaboration with the Senior Leadership Team ensuring aligned with organisational priorities and growth of NHP. 

• Build, develop and sustain a strong pipeline of housing partners across all NHP locations- at both a local and national level. Maintain effective relationships with existing providers whilst identifying new business and strategic housing opportunities to grow supply. 

• Work closely with local authorities (and LHPs) to understand regional housing supply, demand and challenges- with a view to informing the Housing Partnership Strategy. 

• Develop and maintain a database of partnerships with Housing Providers, and opportunities for growth  

• Represent NHP at regional and national Housing Forums, conferences and events 

• Support Local House Projects to negotiate property offers and advocate for care-experienced young people and the NHP approach 

• Coordinate the Housing Community of Practice with one of the Practice Leads 

• Work with the Director of Partnerships to secure tangible opportunities to deliver Social Value opportunities- including collaborations and strategic opportunities.

• Support LAs to maximise the accommodation offer to care leavers through Section 106 agreements and their responsibility to Public Value in all commissioned services 

• Deliver ‘horizon scanning’ briefings to the NHP team so they are up to date with housing policy, progress and challenges to inform their work and practice 

Communications and Collaboration 

• Develop case studies and share best practice/our approach across the Housing Sector 

• Work closely with the Business Support Administrator and Admin Team to create and share communications about housing 

• Support the preparation of housing partnership updates, impact stories, and social media content. 

• Contribute to internal communications about partnership successes and learning. 

• Support the rest of the NHP team from time to time, as required.

You will be based at the NHP office in Crewe for a minimum of 2 days per week, but you will be expected to travel and attend meetings across the country on a regular basis.

Key Focus Areas

• Supporting partnership, funding and supporter growth and retention by working with the Partnerships Development Manager to develop partnership strategies and materials (e.g., pitches, proposals, content, impact reporting), and track/evaluate partnership activity to evidence impact and attract new support.
• Commissioning and managing the creation of accessible and effective assets (e.g. presentations, toolkits, social content, video) that are used in the delivery and implementation of a wide variety of programmes and campaigns, across diverse themes. This will involve close collaboration with the Senior Programmes Design Manager and our partners.
• Developing and overseeing integrated marketing and communications plans for the programmes and campaigns – considering objectives, audiences, channels, timelines and KPIs - in close collaboration with Community Integrated Care’s in-house internal and external Marketing and Communications team and operational colleagues, and our partners, to ensure that we reach and empower our target audiences.
• Identifying, delivering and collaborating on profile-raising activations with partners (e.g., events, co-branded campaigns, ambassador activity, PR opportunities) that celebrate the charity, extend reach, and support a more inclusive society, working with Community Integrated Care’s external communications team – including PR and Media, Social Media, Policy & Public Affairs and Design specialists.

About the role

The Senior Legacy Manager will lead the development and delivery of London’s Air Ambulance Charity’s legacy programme, ensuring legacy giving is embedded across fundraising and marketing activity and is front of mind across the organisation.

This role is responsible for managing our legacy marketing programme, working closely with the marketing team to deliver compelling, sensitive and effective activity. The postholder will also oversee our outsourced legacy administration partner, ensuring legacy gifts are processed efficiently, compliantly and in line with best practice, through regular performance monitoring and review.

Working across the Fundraising and Marketing Directorate, the Senior Legacy Manager will champion legacies as a vital form of support, collaborating closely with all teams in the directorate. This will include working with the major donor team to identify and develop high-value legacy opportunities and supporting the community engagement team to integrate in-memory and legacy messaging into the community talks programme and engagement activity within the community.

The role also plays a key part in connecting our legacy and in-memory programmes, working with the community engagement team and the Deputy Director to develop a joined up in-memory strategy that ensures a coherent and compassionate supporter experience.

Flagship Peatlands Project Manager

We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Project Manager to join us for an exciting peatland project made possible through the National Lottery Heritage Fund.

The flagship Peatlands Project Manager will work closely with a development team, made up of Trust staff and partners, and will be responsible for developing project plans, timelines, and budgets to ensure the delivery of the project objectives, along with coordinating the team to ensure project alignment.

Special features of the role

The Project Manager will be responsible for the delivery of the development phase of the Flagship Peatlands project.  This is a multi-departmental project for CWT with a number of beneficial partnerships.  To provide a coordinating role to pull the various components of the project together and ensure that it is managed as a single project delivering a range of interlinked outcomes.

Job Purpose

The purpose of the job is to co-ordinate the Trust project development team and the project partners to inform the development of a 2nd stage application for the Flagship Peatlands project to the National Lottery Heritage Fund (NLHF).

Peatlands are an unappreciated ‘cinderella’ habitat, but are of huge significance in Cumbria in addressing flooding, climate change and biodiversity loss.  While Cumbria Wildlife Trust have been the county leaders in the restoration of peatland habitats for over a decade, this new significant project will aim to make a step change in the public understanding and appreciation of this internationally important habitat, which Cumbria is so important for.

In recent years violent crime has risen significantly. Homicides, assaults, robberies and offences involving weapons have all seen sustained growth. We have also seen large increases in violent crime involving children and young people. This is a tragedy. Every child captured in these numbers is an important member of our community and society has a duty to protect them.

The Youth Endowment Fund (YEF) is a charity with a £200m endowment and a mission that matters. We exist to prevent children and young people becoming involved in violence. We do this by funding great initiatives, finding what works and working for change - scaling and spreading the practices that make a difference.

One of the most important things we do is ensure that our funding and commissioning processes run smoothly and deliver maximum impact. We manage significant grants and complex commissioning arrangements that support projects designed to make a lasting difference. To do this well, we need robust systems, clear governance and strong relationships with partners. This role is critical to making that happen. As our Senior Grants & Commissioning Manager, you’ll lead on optimising our grant management system Salesforce, oversee risk and compliance and drive improvements in commissioning and procurement across the organisation. You’ll be the go-to person for contracts, grant agreements, policy guidance and Salesforce, ensuring data integrity and enabling confident decision-making. Key Responsibilities

Your role would be to ensure our funding and commissioning processes run efficiently, compliantly and strategically.
