About the role
The Head of Fundraising and Communications will lead the development and delivery of a systematic, data-driven, and project-managed approach to fundraising and communications — driving sustainable income growth and raising the charity’s profile and influence.
This role is first and foremost a fundraising leadership role. As the charity’s strategic lead for fundraising, they will shape and expand our income streams, strengthen systems and processes, and build a high-performing team to help us reach more young people with our vital work. They will also lead on external communications and storytelling, ensuring our narrative is compelling, consistent, and rooted in the powerful impact of our programmes.
While this role will oversee a team of three, the postholder will be hands-on and deeply involved in the systems and practices they implement, ensuring excellence in both strategy and delivery.
This newly created role is a key position on the Senior Leadership Team, working closely with the CEO, Deputy CEO, and Head of Programmes to deliver The Ben Kinsella Trust’s vision and strategy.
As part of a small charity making a big impact, you will play a central role in ensuring Ben’s legacy continues to educate, empower, and inspire thousands more young people across London and beyond.
Key Responsibilities
Fundraising
- Provide strategic leadership and direction for all fundraising activity, ensuring a systematic and dependable approach to income generation.
- Develop and deliver a long-term fundraising strategy that supports sustainable growth and diversification across grants & trusts, corporate donors, major donors, individual giving and community fundraising.
- Build and manage relationships with key funders and donors, working with the CEO and Fundraising Manager to cultivate and steward major partnerships.
- Maintain oversight and final sign-off of major and high-value funding applications to grants & trusts, corporate donors and major donors, ensuring they are well-structured, hold a compelling narrative, and are of the highest quality.
- Implement systems, processes, and KPIs to monitor performance, track pipelines, and drive continuous improvement.
- Provide strategic fundraising insight and reporting to the Senior Leadership Team and Board.
Senior Leadership Team
- Play a full and active role as a member of the Senior Leadership Team, contributing to organisational strategy, decision-making, and culture.
- Introduce and refine systems, processes, and workflows to improve efficiency and collaboration across departments.
- Support strategic planning and financial forecasting, particularly in relation to income generation and communications activity.
Communications and Marketing
- Develop and implement a comprehensive external communications strategy, providing strategic leadership communications and campaigns and ensuring alignment with the charity’s mission and priorities.
- Shape and oversee the charity’s external narrative, ensuring our storytelling is compelling, consistent, and rooted in impact.
- Oversee the charity’s external communications and brand, ensuring all public-facing content is high quality, consistent and strengthens the charity’s reputation.
- Lead the charity’s digital communications, including the website, social media, online campaigns and paid advertising; to grow awareness, engagement and support.
- Lead the creation of high-quality marketing materials and publications to support fundraising, advocacy, and service delivery.

Finance
- Responsible for the Fundraising and Communications budget and any related contracted services budgets, and any relevant restricted funds.

Experience
- Significant experience in a senior fundraising role, with a demonstrable track record of developing and delivering successful multi-stream income generation strategies.
- Experience overseeing complex high-value fundraising applications and partnerships across a broad funder base, such as trusts and foundations, corporate sponsors, major donors and public-facing campaigns.
- Leadership and team management experience, with the ability to motivate and develop others.

About You
As Senior Communications Manager at the Thomson Reuters Foundation, you will:

Lead on the planning and execution of impactful and strategic communications campaigns for key initiatives arising from the Foundation’s core thematic areas of work

The Head of Finance is a key member of the Senior Management Team responsible for the Trust’s financial management including; financial and management accounts, financial planning and budget submissions, forecasting and cashflow management, compliance and financial governance and the statutory accounts and audit. The produces group accounts comprising the GWT charity and the wholly owned trading subsidiary, GWT Trading Ltd. The GWT charity includes the UK based headquarters, fundraising team and two welfare advice centres, and GWT (Nepal), which is responsible for delivering the majority of charitable activities directly in Nepal. Supported by the Finance Director GWT (Nepal), Head of Finance is responsible for reporting on the financial performance of the Trust to the CEO and the Audit and Finance Committees.
Secretary of the Investment Committee and the key interface between the two Investment Managers and the Investment Committee Chair and members.
Head of profession, providing leadership and professional mentoring and development to the finance teams in the UK and Nepal.
The Trust is looking to introduce a new finance system within the next 12 months, under the direction of Head of Finance.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
This role’s primary responsibilities will be as follows:
1. Financial Leadership and Control
- Day to day responsibility for the Trust’s finance function ensuring robust financial control, accurate reporting, and effective systems that underpin the charity’s strategic ambitions and operational delivery.
- Advising Trustees on all aspects of the Trust’s financial performance and position including that of GWT(N).
- Provide financial advice in support of the strategic direction of the Trust.
2. Financial Management and Control
- Preparation of the quarterly management accounts with supporting commentary for the Finance Committee and Trustees.
- Monthly Group consolidation, including Balance Sheet and P&L revaluations and review of completeness of management accounts.
- Payroll management for all GWT UK staff including salaries, pension contributions and medical insurance. Ensuring the correct application and reporting of statutory allowances to HMRC through monthly RTI reports.
- Cashflow management.
- Investments: key interface with Investment Managers (Sarasin & Partners LLP and CCLA), and ensuring the correct accounting and reporting of in-period movements within PS Financials.
- Constructive Obligation: Review annual assumptions and options for agreement by the Audit Committee. Liaise with the actuary (located in India) for annual valuation.
3. Financial Reporting and Audit
- Preparation of the Trust’s annual budget and 10-year income & expenditure and investment assessment with supporting schedules for submission to the Finance Committee and Trustees.
- In liaison with HR, evaluate and present options for UK staff annual salary awards.
- Monitor Trust’s financial performance, identifying risks and opportunities for performance improvement.
- Prepare GWT and GWT Trading Ltd statutory accounts in accordance with Charities SORP and Charity Commission requirements and with supporting schedules for audit purposes. Maintain reserve policies, presenting changes for Audit Committee approval.
- Lead for ensuring the correct adoption of SORP 26, with specific focus on the changes in lease accounting.
- In liaison with Comms & Digital Manager, oversee the preparation of the Annual Report for Trustee approval.
4. Compliance and Governance
- Responsibility for maintaining an appropriate system of internal control within the Trust. Lead for the contracted UK Internal Audit capability and provide advice and support to GWT(N) Internal Auditor.
- Lead for Counter Fraud Policy and fraud awareness.
- Responsibility for accounting policies and procedures throughout the Trust, ensuring they are up to date and in accordance with current best practice and regulatory and Charity Commission requirements.
5. Financial Guidance and Stakeholder Engagement
- Maintain regular liaison with the Treasurer and Auditor.
- Liaise with HMRC as required on all aspects of the Trust’s accounts.
- Providing an external interface with banks, auditors, pension funds, investment managers, consultants and charity finance specialists.
- Lead for negotiating the annual Support and Medical Grant-in-Aid (GIA) with MOD and providing quarterly performance reporting.
- Provide financial advice and support to all members of staff within their areas of responsibility including assisting with the financial aspects of grant applications, contract negotiations and project proposals and to provide guidance on HMRC, Charity Commission and other regulations.
6. Leadership and Line Management
- Line management responsibility of Financial Accountant who has day-to-day responsibility for financial transactions and input to PS Financials.
- Provide financial advice and support to Finance Director GWT(N).
- Ensuring the continued profession development of all finance staff.
- Secretary to Audit Committee and Investment Committee.
KEY SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND KNOWLEDGE, AND PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES

ILPA is a charity and professional membership body working to improve immigration, asylum and nationality law. Our training programme is a core part of our work and one of our largest income streams. We are recruiting a Training Manager to run this programme end to end. Programme planning and development

The Senior Learning and Insights Manager will play a critical role-- contributing to a bold learning and insights strategy aligned with Purposeful’s vision, mission, and growth, leading the design of data collection systems, contributing to data collection efforts, from surveys to storytelling, closing feedback loops and crafting knowledge products, intended to inform, influence and amplify.
They will bring technical expertise across a range of quantitative and qualitative methodologies, they will come with curiosity and a willingness to share. The Learning and Insights Manager will work closely with the Learning and Insights Lead and across all Purposeful teams, particularly Grant-making, Communications and Resource Mobilisation.

SCOPE OF WORK
1. Learning and Insights Strategy and Systems

Contribute to the delivery and implementation of a new Learning and Insights strategy and results framework, building on our Learning Agenda.

Lead the design and embedding of data collection tools and systems across Purposeful teams, in particular our global grantmaking and advocacy teams.

Work closely with the Learning and Insights team to champion a culture of learning within Purposeful and with grantee partners.
2. Technical Support

Lead cycles of data collection across our global grantmaking work - supporting regional teams with technical expertise, as and when needed.

The British Society of Gastroenterology (BSG) is the leading professional body for gastroenterology and hepatology in the UK, supporting a multidisciplinary community of clinicians and researchers committed to improving digestive health outcomes. We are seeking an experienced Events Manager (Maternity Cover) to take ownership of our national and international events portfolio, including our flagship annual conference, BSG LIVE.
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, you will lead the end-to-end delivery of conferences, meetings and digital events -from early planning and stakeholder engagement through to delivery, evaluation and continuous improvement. You will work closely with colleagues, committees, Professional Conference Organisers and external suppliers to ensure events are engaging, well-managed, financially sound and aligned with BSG’s strategic priorities.
This is a varied, high-impact role combining strategic oversight with hands-on delivery. You will manage budgets, oversee suppliers, collaborate on event marketing and communications, and champion best practice in accessibility, inclusion and sustainability. As BSG approaches its 90th anniversary in 2027, you will also play a key role in supporting Project 90, enhancing member experience and celebrating excellence across the profession.
We are looking for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment, brings strong project management skills, and enjoys delivering complex events to a high standard. Experience within a membership organisation, charity or professional body - particularly within healthcare, science or education would be advantageous.

Starlight has a long and successful track record of delivering high-profile, high-value special events, including the prestigious Blenheim Ball, Newbury Race Day, and until recently, the Highclere Clay Pigeon Shoot. These events are supported by influential committees and play a critical role in raising income, stewarding donors and connecting supporters with our purpose.
With a gap in our Philanthropy team and maternity leave expected to begin in March, this 18-month fixed-term role exists to lead and deliver Starlight’s flagship events at a senior level, with immediate responsibility for the Blenheim Ball (April) – the event Tatler refers to as “ society’s smartest ball “chaired by Lady Alexandra Spencer Churchill; and Newbury Race Day (May) – one of Starlight’s longest-standing and most successful supporter events, hosted by Nicky Henderson and his Committee.
This is a senior, delivery-focused role designed for an experienced events professional who can hit the ground running and immediately take ownership of two flagship events. Working closely with the Committees, you will bring leadership, strategic judgement and outstanding project management to ensure these events continue to excel in reputation, income and supporter experience.

• Ensure every project begins with robust discovery, drawing on lived experience insight, stakeholder research, data analysis, and policy or desk research as appropriate.
• Support clients and partners to navigate uncertainty, identify strategic choices,
and make informed decisions in complex environments.
• Lead the delivery of complex programmes and portfolios of work, ensuring
clarity of purpose, appropriate pace, and strong coordination across projects.
