Charity People is delighted to be partnering with The Salvation Army to lead the search for an interim Assistant Head of Digital Marketing and Fundraising who will join the team on a maternity cover contract during a crucial time of continued digital expansion.

This is a senior post reporting to the Head of Digital with responsibility for a team of eight, including two direct reports. Interim Assistant Head of Digital Marketing and Fundraising

Contract: One-year fixed term maternity cover contract, until end of 2026

Salary: £53,952

Location: Hybrid between home and London office with a minimum of two days per week (or 40% of month) in the office

Hours: Full-time, 35 hours per week with flexible working options fully supported, including condensed hours and job sharing

Core responsibilities within your role will be to:

• Develop and implement digital advertising, email marketing and lead generation strategies to raise awareness, generate leads and grow income through digital channels, with responsibility for supporter journeys and improving conversion
• deputise for the Head of Digital as needed
• Lead and manage the Digital Marketing & Fundraising team ensuring that objectives are successfully delivered; embedding a high performing team culture; and ensuring that employee wellbeing is at the top of your agenda
• Operate as a senior leader across the organisation, supporting the delivery of the digital strategy, driving change and identifying opportunities for cross-team growth
• Provide digital fundraising expertise and advice to fundraising teams that will support the growth of fundraising income by fully integrating digital operations into all relevant fundraising income streams
• Appoint and manage digital agencies and suppliers as appropriate, such as Dotdigital (email marketing), Fundraise Up (donations), and JAA (Digital advertising agency) and lead your team in assisting and supporting wider teams and departments via an internal agency model with digital expertise and best practice
• Be responsible for managing the digital marketing and fundraising budget including setting, monitoring, forecasting, and providing financial reporting as required
• Be responsible for the £1,000,000 income target for the team through the website, enewsletter, and organic and paid search income channels
• Working to maintain a culture of continual and disciplined learning and improvement; driving the use of digital analysis tools, data, results and the deployment of this in all aspects of digital development

• In-depth understanding of digital technologies, infrastructure, industry best practice, innovation and compliance requirements, with experience of identifying opportunities and implementing change successfully
• Significant experience of implementing new products or offers which have successfully driven high levels of new supporters
• Substantial financial management skills with previous experience of managing budgets, developing spending plans, and delivering financial reporting as required
• Excellent leadership and people management skills with proven experience of managing and building high-performing teams, as well as of successfully managing suppliers such as digital agencies, and internal service providers
• Exceptional project management skills with the ability to be highly organised and to work across simultaneous complex projects with a wide variety of stakeholders and prioritise their own workload effectively

What you'll do:

• Oversee all induction and mandatory training, ensuring it meets organisational requirements

The Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (RCPCH) is seeking an experienced and strategic Financial Controller to oversee the financial management, control and compliance functions of the College.

This is a pivotal leadership role within the Finance team, supporting the College’s mission to improve child health by ensuring strong financial governance, sound reporting, and long-term sustainability. Working closely with the Associate Director of Finance and senior leaders across the organisation, you will take responsibility for the accuracy, integrity and efficiency of all financial operations and reporting processes.

As Financial Controller, you will lead a team of six, overseeing financial control, statutory reporting, payroll, and compliance. You will ensure that robust internal controls are in place, and manage relationships with auditors, banks and investment partners.

This role will suit a qualified accountant with substantial experience in financial management and a collaborative leadership style.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading the delivery of accurate and timely month-end and year-end processes, including group consolidations and statutory accounts

Introduction

Herts Welcomes Refugees is at a transitional stage of its development, moving from a charity 
managed entirely by volunteers to one in which a small team of paid staff at its core facilitate and 
support the trustees to guide the work of the 170 or so volunteers. The staff team currently 
comprises a Volunteer Coordinator an IT Support Assistant and soon we will also be recruiting an 
Administrative Assistant. The Director will also work collaboratively with the (volunteer) 
Management Committee, the volunteer teams delivering services across the county and those 
volunteers providing support in key areas such as evaluation media and safeguarding.

Having come through a period of rapid development in the last four years, we now need to 
consolidate our knowledge and experience and further professionalise how we operate to ensure 
the sustainability and further development of the charity. Whilst committed to remaining a 
volunteer led charity, we need an energetic and experienced Director to support the trustees in
achieving our objectives and take the charity into the next phase of its development.

This brand-new senior role, which is being created as part of a new three-year funding programme by the
National Lottery Community Fund, is key to the next stage of our development. The postholder 
will need to be flexible in working with the Trustees, existing staff team and volunteers to help 
steer the charity through this transition.

Responsibilities

Join the Marine Society & Sea Cadets as a Safety and Assurance Officer, ensuring the highest standards of safety, health, environment (SHE), and operational compliance across our units and facilities.
You’ll lead assurance inspections, maintain compliance with legislation and organisational regulations, and support the safe management of weapons, armouries, and inshore boating activities. About the role:
 
The Direct Marketing Executive will play a key role in delivering high-quality direct marketing campaigns that drive income and engagement from individual supporters. Focusing on cash appeals and alternative gifts, this role will manage the planning, delivery, and evaluation of multi-channel campaigns that inspire supporters to give, strengthen loyalty, and maximise return on investment.
 
About You:
 
ESSENTIAL
 
• Knowledge of using direct marketing channels such as mail and email.
• Strong planning and project management skills.
• Experience of working successfully with external suppliers or internal stakeholders to deliver direct marketing campaigns.
• Demonstrable analytical skills and highly numerate
• Experience of using a database
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills.
• Excellent written skills including experience of writing and editing emails
• Demonstrable organisation skills and experience of managing a varied workload.
• Ability to build effective relationships with internal stakeholders and external agencies.
• A collaborative, proactive, and solution-focused approach.
• Strong IT skills including Excel and Word
• Demonstrates ability to work in an agile manner and adapt to changes quickly.
• Shows strong initiative; ability to bring in new, creative ideas.
 
DESIRABLE
 
• Experience in the charity sector or individual giving fundraising.
• Knowledge of online marketing.
• Ability to work on own initiative.
• Good understanding of delivering excellent customer service/donor care.
• Familiarity with CRM systems and data segmentation tools
