About us

Myeloma UK is the only organisation in the UK dealing exclusively with the blood cancer myeloma and related conditions. We are committed to bringing together the best and brightest people to help us ensure that every patient has an empowered present and a hopeful future.

Our ultimate goal is to find a cure. We are dedicated to ensuring that patients get access to the right treatment at the right time, and to improving standards of treatment and care through research, education and awareness raising. We also provide a range of information and support services to patients, family, and friends to help deal with a diagnosis of myeloma.

About the role

The Research Manager will manage the entirety of the Research Programme from application, peer review and award to grant management and maximising output and impact. You will work with external researchers and communities, and you will oversee progress of funded research and its impact on patients.

We have recently launched our Early Diagnosis research programme to address the biggest unmet need in myeloma. We are also horizon scanning the wider myeloma research landscape, looking to engage more with the research community and ensure patient need is at the heart of our work.

About you

The successful candidate will have a relevant degree and post graduate scientific, academic, biomedical, or clinical research experience.  You will also have knowledge of the principles of grant funding and general health and cancer biology, treatment and knowledge, previous project management experience and excellent communication and organisational skills are essential for this role, along with the ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
