Plumstead Community Law Centre is a free specialist legal advice charity located in central Woolwich in South East London. We provide specialist legal advice and advocacy in the areas of immigration, welfare benefits and employment People can access our services via telephone or email, and through the Advice Hub outreach services we attend in local community centres. In 2024 over 1,400 local people accessed our advice and representation services, resulting in a range of financial and non-financial benefits.
Towards the end of 2024, we moved away from a collective model towards a functional management structure. We appointed an Interim CEO from the staff group and expanded our trustee board's size and expertise.
This Managing Director and Senior Solicitor role involves assuming the charity’s management from our interim CEO, who has established strong systems and secured new funding for the further strengthening of the charity. Our strategic plan includes improving our legal practice management with a view to obtaining a quality mark and securing an immigration legal aid contract. We anticipate securing further funding to expand our services, to support more people in need in our community.

The Law Centre Managing Director and Senior Solicitor (“MD/SS”) is responsible for all aspects of the day-to-day operation of the Law Centre. Working within appropriate delegations from the Board, the post holder ensures that the Law Centre provides quality assured services that meet its charitable purposes. The MD/SS ensures that issues of risk and compliance are properly managed and that the Centre is an exciting, innovative and enjoyable place to work. The Team
Part of the Philanthropy Team, comprised of individuals focused on major giving, prospect research and trusts and foundations. In addition, the role will work closely with the corporate partnerships team and community and events team.

Overall Purpose of the Role
The Prospect Research Manager will play an integral role in managing the growth and development of the prospect pipeline to enable the fundraising ambitions of Guy’s & St Thomas’ Charity.
This role will make a significant contribution towards increasing our income by ensuring that the best potential supporters are identified, researched and allocated in collaboration with the high value fundraising teams.
This role works across all areas of the team’s remit to deliver strategic insight on our highest-level prospects, using data science techniques to evaluate performance, spot trends and opportunities, including due diligence research, build prospect pipelines for priority fundraising projects, and work directly with fundraisers to manage prospect portfolios.
Our fundraising department has recently entered a period of ambitious growth and will shortly be launching a significant capital campaign for our children’s hospital. Key Responsibilities
- Deliver timely and strategic prospect research and intelligence which meets the needs of our fundraising team.
- Conduct fundraising market research, from larger prospect finding projects to prospect ratings work, donor profiles, networks research, competitor analysis and occasional work on cultivation event briefings.
- Work closely with the Senior Prospect Research Manager to ensure the team’s workplan is updated regularly and work assigned is carried out to deadline, sharing any capacity issues or challenges where they arise.
- Carry out due diligence research on prospective donors, producing thorough and objective reports which support fundraising decisions and ensure adherence to our gift acceptance procedures and are agreed with the legal team
- Identify networks of clinicians and stakeholders to assess the opportunities for reaching new potential donors.
- Work with the Senior Prospect Development Manager to undertake work arising from portfolio reviews to clean fundraising portfolios.
- Build strong cross-team working relationships, meeting with fundraisers on a regular basis to discuss needs, manage expectations and gain feedback.
- Develop an in-depth understanding of the Raiser’s Edge database which will include regular data mining activity, building complex queries and exports, and the creation of constituent records.
- Advocate best practice in the recording and processing of prospect data on Raiser’s Edge, ensuring data is accurate, relevant and processed as per the team’s Data Protection Policy and in line with The Data Protection Act 2018/ the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) 2018. This will include working with the data team to identify data challenges and appropriate solutions for improving prospect data quality and cleanliness.
- Work with the Senior Prospect Research Manager to develop annual plans which best support Fundraisings priorities.
- Network regularly with sector peers to share best practice and generate insight on the latest developments in prospect research.
- Alongside the Senior Prospect Research Manager, oversee prospect identification for priority fundraising projects and support team members in developing projects for prospecting.
- Proactively engage with market intelligence which supports the identification of prospects and philanthropic trends, and highlights opportunities for future fundraising growth. This would include regular assessment of insight on transformational donations made worldwide, high net worth individuals and philanthropic trends.
Working Environment:
The post holder should expect to:
- Work in a hybrid hot desk environment, generally working 2 days a week in the London office and three from home.
- Be responsible for the input and maintenance of databases and files relevant to the post requirements.
- Will occasionally be required to attend events in the evening and at weekends.

About you
With proven previous experience running complex and large database selections in a busy direct marketing environment, you'll have experience ensuring complex and high-volume data quality and accuracy. This is an exciting opportunity to shape a new senior role within our organisation. The Interim Head of Research and Campaigns will lead our Research function and advocacy efforts, ensuring that evidence-based insights drive our campaigns, policy work, and public engagement.
Recently kicking off our new ‘Creating Positive Change Together’ strategy, coproduced by over 130 staff, volunteers, clients and partners, Groundswell has ambitious plans around influencing more change and amplifying voices to promote healthier lives and a better future for anyone who has experienced homelessness. This role directly aligns with these strategic plans, to refine and use innovative participatory research centring lived experience, share and amplify insight from people with experience of homelessness, and increase our campaigning activities to change systems and break down the barriers that stand in people’s way to a healthier life and more hopeful future.
This role has been created on an interim basis to assess its impact and effectiveness, with a key focus on reviewing the priorities, progression and support of our Research Team and making recommendations for the future regarding this new role. The role will sit within the wider Participation, Progression and Creating Change team.
We anticipate that some form of Head of Research & Campaigning role will continue beyond this 12-month period, and this interim position will very much shape and inform that longer term role.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and strategic direct marketer to take ownership of the RAF Benevolent Fund’s supporter acquisition programme. The postholder will play a key role in helping us achieve our strategic aim of financial sustainability by growing our active regular donor base to 10.5k supporters and leading on innovative and data-led acquisition campaigns across digital and offline channels.
You will work as part of the Direct Marketing team and be responsible for end-to-end delivery of high-performing integrated campaigns. From shaping channel strategy and briefing creative, to analysing results and presenting strategic insights to senior leadership, this role offers a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful and visible impact on income growth. You’ll also collaborate closely with colleagues to ensure new supporters experience a seamless and engaging journey as they become long-term supporters.
You will have a proven track record in delivering mass market acquisition campaigns and achieving income and recruitment targets across multiple channels.
