We are looking for a highly motivated and organised Social Media and Content Officer with a background in marketing. The successful candidate will be a proactive worker and able to demonstrate strong communication and collaboration skills. They will play a crucial part in building and maintaining our online presence.
Supported by the Social Media and Content Manager and Senior Digital Manager, they will work closely with colleagues across the organisation to manage our social media presence. They will use their creativity and strong copywriting skills to work with members of the Fundraising and PR teams to develop engaging content for our social channels and continue to grow our presence online.
This role would be a good fit for someone enthusiastic about learning more and creating exciting social media content. We are looking for strong copywriting skills and experience working on social media campaigns.
To be successful in your application you'll need:
- Experience creating content (including reels for Instagram) for and managing social media channels, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Youtube and Linkedin
- Experience with social media reporting tools
- Knowledge and understanding of social media best practice and following latest trends
- Excellent writing, copy-editing and proofreading skills, with an eye for detail and a strong command of the English language.
- Ability to communicate, work collaboratively and build good working relationships.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to work proactively and manage multiple projects concurrently.
The following are beneficial but not essential:
- Experience of digital collaboration and project management tools like Trello, MS teams or JIRA.
- Experience in a similar role within a complex organisation, charity, or health/science organisation

As a Fostering Senior Supervising Social Worker with TACT Cymru, you will be a part of our amazing team of professionals working with our organisational values at the heart of their everyday practice.
In addition to the annual salary, the Senior Supervising Social Worker role attracts Out of Hours Allowance of £1,500 per annum once participating in the rota.
The main role requirements for this role include:
- An appropriate social work qualification
- Up-to-date registration with Social Care Wales
- A minimum of 2 years post-qualifying experience in fostering/family placements or other childcare settings
- Experience in supporting and supervising 10-12 foster families to meet the complex needs of the looked-after young people

About the Youth Endowment Fund
We’re here to prevent children and young people becoming involved in violence. We do this by finding out what works and building a movement to put this knowledge into practice.
In recent years violent crime has risen significantly. Homicides, assaults, robberies and offences involving weapons have all seen growth. We have also seen increases in violent crime involving children and young people. This is a tragedy. Every child captured in these numbers is an important member of our community and society has a duty to protect them.
The Youth Endowment Fund exists to try and permanently change things. To succeed, we must build a fantastic body of knowledge about violence affecting young people and how we reduce it. This knowledge has to be both rigorous and highly relevant to those making decisions about how to support vulnerable young people. We need to find out what works and what doesn’t through evidence synthesis, data analysis and qualitative research into children’s lives. We then need to convert this into highly accessible content on what works, how delivery organisations need to change their practice and how the systems they operate in need to be reformed.
About the Toolkit team
The Toolkit team is at the heart of our efforts to learn what works and put it into practice. We do this by creating free, highly accessible research summaries and actionable recommendations for policy makers, commissioners and practitioners.
We’re a high-performing team which values intellectual rigour and getting to the truth, compassion for children, ambition about what we can achieve and humility about what we know. We love to discuss the latest developments in research methods, but we’re not just interested in research for its own sake. We want research to lead to actual changes in outcomes for children.
Our team is responsible for a range of activities, including:
- Developing the YEF’s view on the changes that need to happen and making the case for these changes in accessible reports. This could include changes to government policy, improvements to regulation and inspection, or the adoption of evidence-based interventions. For example, we recently published these recommendations on improving support for children when they are arrested. We develop our recommendations using the best available research and expert insight.
- Creating evidence-based guidance for practitioners. We summarise the research on what teachers, police officers, social workers and others can do to keep children safe. For example, we’re currently working on a guidance report for schools.
- Developing the YEF’s funding strategy across our eight focus areas. We make sure our £200m endowment is focused on the evidence gaps that matter and our decisions are based on rigorous research. We identify opportunities to fund research that will have an impact.
- Expanding a new workstream dedicated to understanding the drivers of violence and which children are the most vulnerable. We’ll fund innovative research on the causes of violence and create useful resources that make this research useful and accessible.
- Developing a new workstream of cutting-edge projects looking at how systems of support are working to keep children safe. For example, we’re funding projects examining access to psychological therapy and the role of key workers in effective agency collaboration.
- Communicating the findings from YEF-funded evaluations. We make sure that evaluation insights are accessible to all and lead to an impact on children’s lives.
Key responsibilities
The Senior Research Manager will be an essential part of the YEF team and will develop a portfolio of impactful projects.
This will involve:
- Leading the development of the YEF’s strategy in one or more of our priority areas. This could include policing, youth work, youth justice or psychological therapies. This is a great opportunity to influence large amounts of funding and direct it towards the most impactful projects.
- You’ll become the YEF’s expert in this area. You’ll make sure we understand the key issues, stay on top of the latest research and are connected to the right people.
- You’ll set the YEF’s research agenda for this topic. You’ll make sure we invest in research that fills important gaps in knowledge and leads to important changes. You’ll ensure that our strategy and decision-making are informed by the best available research.
- You’ll develop great relationships with experts and represent YEF in external meetings and events. You’ll promote evidence-based policy and practice by speaking at conferences and events.
- You’ll lead the development of evidence-based recommendations in your focus area. You’ll draw on research and expert insight to identify potential changes. You’ll design and develop innovative and impactful resources which support the application of your recommendations.
- You’ll work with our Change team to identify opportunities for our recommendations to influence policy and practice, and bring about positive changes that will keep children safe.
About you
You are this sort of person:
- You want to play a significant part in reducing the level of violence affecting young people. You care about having an impact. This might mean you’ve worked directly with young people at risk of becoming involved in crime, for organisations that fund or deliver relevant programmes, or have conducted research on this topic.
- You share our belief that an evidence-based approach is our best hope of preventing violence. You’re fascinated by research, but you’re not just interested in research for its own sake. You want to achieve actual changes in outcomes for children.
- You know a lot about at least one of these topics: policing, youth work, youth justice or psychological therapy. You know the key ideas and debates, recent policy developments and key people. You’re comfortable talking about this topic with experts. There are many ways to acquire this knowledge. You might have worked in one of these fields, conducted research on them or learnt about them during a degree.
- You’re a confident reader of research and have strong critical appraisal skills. You know when research can be trusted and when it can’t, and can confidently articulate your views on the strength of research. You might have gained this expertise through your academic studies, research or professional experience.
- You have at least three years’ experience working in a role that required you to think about research. This could include a range of roles in policy, academia, funding or practice.
- You write in a way that people easily understand. You have that rare skill of writing in plain English. You have experience of translating complex research findings into plain writing that everyone can understand.
- You have excellent project and time management skills. You can work independently, quickly and to a high standard. You have experience of managing contractors or budgets.
- You are good with people. You’re comfortable working with a wide range of people, including senior academics and other research experts, children and their families, practitioners and policy makers. You’re able to provide constructive challenges when required.
- You learn fast but remain humble. You like learning. You’re very good at synthesising information. You know how much you don't know and that you can always learn more.
- You work well in a team. You care more that good things happen than who gets the credit. You support your colleagues to produce excellent work.

Hybrid working details
The office is based in Central London. Those living in and around London are expected to be in the office a minimum of 2 days per week. If you live outside of London and work remotely, you’ll be expected to work from the London office 2 days per month.

ABOUT YOU
The ideal candidate will have experience of working with children and families with complex needs in a key worker or family support role. Experience of needs assessment and care planning would be beneficial.
You will enjoy working independently but also capable of effective team working, ideally with experience of inter-professional working across health, education and social care.
You will be familiar the needs of children with disabilities and complex needs, and have an understanding of the challenges facing families. You will have strong interpersonal skills, an enthusiastic work attitude and a flexible approach to the changing work environment.

Background
Congenital Heart Disease (CHD) is the most common birth defect and cause of infant mortality. It affects around 1% of new-born babies annually, 1 baby in 125. 1,600 babies, children and adults undergo surgery/ interventional procedures including 420 open-heart surgeries at Leeds Congenital Heart Unit (LCHU) each year. The majority of these infants will need lifelong care and often multiple surgeries/ procedures.
Each year 17,000 babies, children/adults are treated across the Yorkshire and Humber congenital heart disease network. In 2018/19, 14% of outpatients lived in an area where people experience significant socio-economic disadvantage. Some areas are in the 1% most deprived in the UK. 24% of patients on the ward are from Asian communities, a high proportion with complex heart defects.
Children’s Heart Surgery Fund are committed to delivering inclusive support to children and families. We believe that there is a current need to develop positive multicultural relationships within our network to offer tailored family support through clear communication and engagement from the point of diagnosis and beyond. For this role we seek someone fluent in Urdu and Punjabi.
The aim of this role is to provide support to the South Asian families who may need assistance with English as a second language and may have specific needs due to their faith and cultural background.
The support package will ensure wrap-around, culturally sensitive support which is accessible to the whole family unit.
Job Summary
The Inclusion Support Worker will deliver holistic support to families of children with congenital heart disease from across Yorkshire, Humberside, North Lincolnshire and North Derbyshire treated under the Leeds Congenital Heart Unit.
We will encourage the role to develop outreach across the service catchment areas however we will be implementing the community support within Leeds and Bradford as a starting point.
The need for this role has been identified by the existing family support team, senior management of CHSF, our Ambassador and The Leeds Congenital Heart Unit, to engage with ethnically minoritised communities in a tailored way which respects and is sensitive to cultural and religious requirements. It is therefore very important that the Inclusion Support Worker has a good understanding of religions and cultures among communities of South Asian ethnicity.
The Inclusion Support Worker will be responsible for creating peer support groups, establishing a programme of family events, and offering a well-being package which is bespoke to the individual and cultural needs of the family.
This may involve signposting to medical professionals and to other external service providers to develop a joined-up programme to promote positive outcomes based around their individual circumstances.
This role will also provide culturally sensitive, respectful, and bespoke support to families during and following their child's end-of-life care. This team member will work to support relevant professionals to provide positive experiences and memories of their time with their child in Hospital and will signpost families to services with specific bereavement expertise when required.

Key Responsibilities
Support for Families
· To be a dedicated resource for all children and their families affected by congenital heart disease, with an additional focus on those families from diverse backgrounds.
· To facilitate clear communications between families and clinical/nursing staff.
· To create and provide essential discharge packs for parents which are culturally tailored to their needs.
· To liaise with the existing CHSF Family Support Team to ensure a smooth transition for pre surgery admissions and offer a joined up coordinated service for all our families.
· To help families access support by completing referrals to other agencies and services when needed.
· To support the referral process to the Cardiac Psychology Service to help families develop coping strategies following or in preparation for their child's surgery.
· To provide practical support to parents following a bereavement and be a point of contact when they leave the Hospital to signpost to external services when needed.
· To organise culturally appropriate family fun and educational events for families affected by congenital heart disease.
Relationship Development and Support
· To build trusting relationships with children and families through attendance at high-risk clinics
· Establish group sessions and events to proactively build new initiatives to meet the needs of ethnically diverse communities.
· To provide practical help and emotional support for children and families, and signpost to specialist agencies where required, particularly during times of stress.
· To support the wishes of families of palliative patients to provide opportunities to create lasting memories.
· To attend clinics which cover Leeds and Bradford patients to engage with families and offer support where needed.
· To establish culturally appropriate peer support networks where families affected by congenital heart disease can support each other.
Professional Relationship Management
· To work closely with your Line Manager, our Family Support Supervisor at CHSF and the clinical and nursing staff within the Leeds Congenital Heart Unit along with the Specialist Cardiac team at the Bradford Clinic.
· To support the rest of the Family Support Team with a range of families through busy periods within the hospital.
· To complete internal and external financial grants when highlighted by the Leeds congenital heart unit professionals and Cardiac Nurse Specialists following our guidelines for support.
Safeguarding
· To ensure that all Safeguarding policies and procedures are adhered to at all times and to ensure appropriate safeguarding of children and families by reporting and recording concerns both within the Charity and geographically relevant Hospital Trust.
Other
· To work with the fundraising team to offer information during out-patient appointments.
· To ensure that recording of work with children and families is maintained to a high standard, accurate and up to date
· To work flexibly as required by the needs of the service and carry out any other reasonable duties as required.
· To attend weekly family service meetings with the Senior Family Support Worker.
· To help promote CHSF fundraising opportunities, where appropriate and work with the community fundraising team on new initiatives.
· To identify and send potential family referrals to the marketing and fundraising team as appropriate.
· To support the Marketing Team by introducing them to families where appropriate to raise awareness of the service.

This role will support the delivery of the Supporter Experience Framework and Supporter Care strategic plan to deliver an excellent supporter experience to all external audiences, contacting and responding to supporter enquiries across multiple channels.
You will monitor and measure the teams KPI’s to inform day to day management of work and resource within the Supporter Care team.
The role is offered on a full time, permanent basis. Although the post is based at our central London offices, LAA offers a hybrid working arrangement.
You will be a determined and passionate individual who wants to make a real difference to critically injured patients in London by providing a first-class customer experience. You will have previous experience working in a Supporter or Customer Care team delivering excellent supporter experience and be confident using CRM databases.

We are looking for a Night Worker (internally referred to as a Building Supervisor), to join our fantastic Hereford Adult Accommodation Based Service, which offers shelter and support for vulnerable adults aged 18 and above who face homelessness.
We are looking for someone to work Full-time (Average 39.375 hours per week) on a rota basis 12.25 hour shifts 8pm-8:15am
We would also consider people to join our Bank team which is £12 per hour, plus holiday pay accrual and paid training, working shifts as and when they are available on a zero hour basis.

- Regular health and safety checks are a crucial part of the role.
- Displaying empathy and maintaining professional boundaries with our residents are non-negotiable qualities.

- While prior experience in interacting with diverse communities is advantageous, it's not a prerequisite as comprehensive training will be provided.
