About Us

At SkyWay, we help people to drive the change they need for a better future, to give young people friendly and professional support, to help them to create a better future for themselves and the community they’re part of. And now we also work with members of the wider community, because we know how interlinked young people’s lives are with the people and places where they live, learn and socialise.

Our focus includes;

  • creating safe spaces; giving access to youth clubs and spaces for sports activities, to allow young people to feel safe and protected from violence and gang culture

  • providing varied, engaging, fun and challenging sessions to support positive mental health and wellbeing, reduce isolation and develop new skills & experiences

  • offering life coaching, providing positive role models, parenting support and one to ones to support those struggling in the education system

  • creating peer leadership programmes to develop new employability skills,  empowering greater ambition and developing positive peer relationships. 

  • employment support, skills development, connecting communities and supporting people to gain skills to find employment and training. 

  • Providing food; both through our community food programmes and at our youth sessions and through the development of healthy eating and other food programmes

  • Building trust through all our activities; sessions, coaching, mentoring, one to ones 

Your role

We’re seeking an experienced, energetic and creative senior youth & community worker to join our team,  you will be based at our Hoxton community hub, and working with the team you will be responsible for the creating, planning and running a high quality and effective youth provision for and with our young people and their families. 

Purpose of the job:

To ensure young people and their communities have the opportunities, skills and confidence to build a better future for themselves.

The key duties of the post are:

  • To provide a high quality, effective service offering inspiring, fun, engaging & creative opportunities at in collaboration with and for young people and their communities

  • To create inclusive opportunities and encourage people to get involved in these opportunities, that enhance physical and mental wellbeing, develop resilience and form a positive sense of identity and self belief for those that take part

  • To deliver, measure and report on the impact of effective youth and community activities that you have planned or delivered

  • Lead the youth work team and oversee the day to day delivery of the youth work offer at our Hoxton Community Hub during term time and school holidays 

  • Develop partnerships with other voluntary sector organisations, schools and statutory service providers

As an experienced Youth and Community Worker,  you will be expected to;

  •  Be based in our Hoxton Community Hub, but have the ability work flexibly  in parks, on sports pitches, through detached, online and wherever necessary to meet the needs of our young people and their communities (There is some flexibility for hybrid working when you are not working face to face with young people)

  • Work evenings, during the day with communities and during school holidays and occasional weekends.

As an experienced youth & community worker,  you will be expected to;
